Green Card or Visas?
Expat4life66 replied to Corley's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
If only visiting US say 1-2 times a year, less than 180 days at a time, the 10 year B1/B2 is the way to go and a much shorter process to obtain, both in paperwork, time and $$. We live in Thailand and my spouse is on year 9 of her first B1/B2 and we will re-up online before this one expires next year. If you go the B1/B2 route, just be sure to carry her old and new passport once her old passport expires with the physical visa attached. We visit the US 1x a year for 30 days and remain in Thailand (or other asian countries on vacation) balance of the year. The only real downside is spouse won't be able to collect Social security spouse benefit without a multi-year stay in the US, but that's a different topic. -

You cant, which is why it's a good idea for expats on local pay packages (paid in THB to a Thai Bank) to also have Private health cover (e.g., Cigna Global) to mitigate additional financial risk. My former BOI employer had over 200 expats working in different levels of management on local Thai packages at any given time. We all were given Thai 33 plan, 25K outpatient Aetna and 400000THB Generali inpatient, annually. We would still have to cover >25K out-patient costs and additional inpatient costs if something over 400000K happened and were were being treated at a private hospital. I estimate at least 60% of the expats at my RHC / BOI as well as most older Thai employees also had a Third Party insurance like Cigna Global (or Thai ins for the Thais) that could be used at a private hospital like Samitivej or Bangkok Hospital in case something like a bad accident, or expensive health issue happened. Comes down to personal choice, risk acceptance, willingness to self-insure, etc.

For the last two olympics, those channels were included as part of the AIS Play package. For the delayed 2020 Summer Games, I only signed up for the 99baht trial at the time (July 2021) and was able to watch all the olympic channels. That was when there was only one AIS package choice. I now have AIS Play Premium (I'm an AIS Mobile Customer) and just checked and there are now 24 Olympic channels available for viewing on my TV App (no extra cost) and the splash screen on olympic channel 1 says it will start broadcasting tomorrow. For the last two olympics, Olympic Channels 1-3 were overdubbed by Thai commentators for english broadcast events on the other channels (usually with high interest sports and events with Thai atheletes). AIS will also publish a schedule for each days events on the Internet for all the channels. The EPG (Electric Program Guide) on the app also gets updated but they were kind of slow about it last time.

NBTC declines to use special fund for Olympics broadcast rights
Expat4life66 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
If you have an existing AIS account you can add AIS Play on your MyAIS app. This is for either Internet or Mobile devices. If you don't have either, you can create an account and sign up for AIS play. We pay for it, however the Thai Channels work for free as will those first three Olympic channels which will be overdubbed by Thai language commentators. -

Every Samsung TV I have bought in Thailand since 2020 has had the AIS Play app pre-loaded. As you mention, it is also available in the Samsung App store. For the delayed 2020 Olympics and the 2022 Winter Olympics they had great coverage. Summer was 12 channels and Winter was 7 or 8 channels. They also did the Paralympics that followed each (less channels). -
Doing my Thai tax return myself
Expat4life66 replied to Dan SG's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
You file once a year in the January to March window if you have regular income like interest or wages every month. The exception to this is what I did a couple of years ago with a one-time event / payment. Retired in X Year, filed that return in Jan X+1 Year and in X+1 year received a seperate payment for my final pro-rated bonus from X year. In that case, I filed the X+1 return seperately after income was received. In my case I e-filed in April shortly after I received the payment because I was no longer a BOI employee and fell under regular Thai rules / rates (PND91). I know people that have waited to file until the following year with no adverse effect. I just wanted to be done with it and not risk forgetting. -

Your browser can automatically translate, if it isn't, try Chrome. https://efiling.rd.go.th/rd-cms/register Go to the bottom of the page and click apply for membership. When the page below comes up, it is asking you to enter your tax ID and do a Captcha. If you have google translate on your phone, you can point your camera at Thai language text and it will automatically translate. If you don't want to use the now mandatory e-file system, you can go to a Revenue office and depending on the office, they will either do what you are paying an agent to do or tell you to hire an agent and not be bothered to help you. -
I lived in the city in the 80s and 90s, I liked some of the things Brown did like close a ton of the housing projects, sent a lot those people to Oakland made my Muni ride to work instantly safer and less Grafitti on the ride ... With Gavin, the homeless problem was already bad but only got worse under his admin, and still getting worse under Breed. Then there was that time in 2005 he got caught F***ing his campaign managers wife, scum...Apology if you can call it that is below https://x.com/i/status/1814353800318333324

Since the Democratic leadership can now rob / control the actual delegates (and the will of the voters) it wouldn't surprise me if they throw a Hail Mary and nominate a centrist republican that hates Trump to peel off some republican votes. Cheney or Haley is not as far fetched as it seems.

Amazing that he nor anyone around him was wearing a face diaper after the announcement and as he boarded AF1 in slow motion the other day

Some consulting firm came up with "CIS" so the Alphabet cult (AC) could slur straight people with a name (cis) like the Nword...what the AC consultant didnt realize is most families embrace personal decisions. My neice identifies as a he him and I could give two <deleted>s as long as she is happy and successful in college and life. San Diego Unified withheld this info from my sister and her husband for about a year which is rediculous because they support her in any way possible.

Your a DEI racist, troll maybe misguided by you medication judging by a 100000 posts. Your probably an old guy so you know DEI in the 90s was about equality in hiring, and how you performed in you job which determined your annual increase. Dei now is hiring a quota and it doesn't matter how you perform. From each according of their ability, it's Marxism you <deleted>

If off employment and converted from 33 to 39 plan you get a month grace. The sso deduction is linked to a sole account.. wife has one and I have one. Something weird happened when we changed my wife's address last year and she had 15 days to report to the ss office to update and pay current month due in person, else would have cancelled
-
He's asking about how to link the sso 39 plan 432 monthly payment to an existing account. I have already explained in above post what I did and it works. If he is getting push back from any one of the corrupt sso offices in Bangkok they are looking for grease for the wheels. HH was very cool about sorting it out a couple years ago for me
-
I have an 8 year old Krungsri account opened with a passport (same I use for annual extention). Since I retired from BOI and bought a house (wifes name) I now have Yellow book / Pink ID. SSO office in HH successfully linked my SSO 39 plan 432 THB monthly payment to that account. I tried at one point to change the bank account from PP to Pink ID #, and the bank branch said no go.

If you file a PND 90/91, set up an account with your e-mail address and tax ID at the link below and e-file next year by 15 March. I e-filed my 2023 return successfully in January with the deductions automatically being entered. Huge improvement after filing a paper returns in person while working for a BOI for years If you are married to a Thai, you can also enter that individuals Thai ID into your account and get that deduction (if they don't file their own / have income). https://efiling.rd.go.th/rd-cms/ Hope this helps!
