  1. Another thing you never, ever hear from a condo owner is "my (ex-)wife and her relatives kicked me out of my condo and I lost X million baht."

No you usually hear of them falling from their balconies whistling.gif

  2. Look at the validity of the visa... you must enter Thailand before the validity expires...

Example: A 2 month Tourist visa usual has a 90 day validity from the date issued by the Embassy in the USA... You must travel to Thailand before the 90 day validity expires... Upon entry you will be given a visa good for 2 moths stay from the date of entry...

If you are doing a multiple entry type visa understand that your last entry must occur before the validity expires...

  3. I will be receiving a 1 year multiple entry Non-Immigrant O-A Retirement visa in my home country (Chicago Consul)...

It is my understanding the if a few days before the one year validity expires I can exit and re-enter the country - It this point immigration will give me an entry stamp good for one year (Essentially a second year)...

My question is during that if I wish to travel out of the country during that second year can I get a re-entry permit ($1,000B) and use that to keep the second year stamp in intact?

  4. Serious? There isn't any night life? Chiang mai should be considered the country side but it isn't as deserted as some of those issan provinces i would be surprised there wasn't some thriving night scene unless of course you're just joking.

Take a nice evening walk on outer ring of the south east corner of the most...

  5. I see the roads being blocked all the time in BKK down at Victory Monument and also from my apartment the express way near bye gets blocked every few days. The other day it was blocked for almost 15 minutes then a parade of around 12 red cars and 2 beige flanked by police cars and bikes drove past.

Sometimes it's just a couple of cars not always red or beige either. Can be blacked out windowed 4x4s and others.

One of the Princess's lives in a Palace near there - Behind Siam Center...

  6. Here is something to think about from 2010 data from the World Health Organization:

Road fatalities per 100,000 motor vehicles

    Australia 8

    U.K. 7

    U.S. 15

    Thailand 118.8

If you remove teens and pre-teen motorcyclists from the stats, they are wildly different.
Remove Songram weekend, drivers under the influence of alcohol and those without helmets and I bet the number comes close to the comparisons...
