I asked if printouts from my last three banks statements showing my Social Security and pension income would be sufficient.

David, would this be bank statements from a Thai or home country bank?

So the 9,200 fee included the 1,900 extension fee and 3,800 multiple entry would make the agent fee 3,500 baht... Correct?

  2. Curious?... Can my fellow OCD members who have PM 2.5 meter post thier readings and location...

My PM Meyer reads 28 indoors and am located just south of the Big C/HomePro  near Mae Hai... I suspect my high reading is due to a high pollen count from the flowering tree that smells strong - My house is in a forrest of them... And we have a stand of palm trees that are also in bloom...

If you end up at the mighty Rama be aware that there is a queue system for that clinic.  Show up early and then be told what time to come back.

    What is “Rama”...

Do you mean Chiang Mai Ram?...

If so you can easily make an appointment thru their website

I'm not sure what you would consider "substantial proof", but here's my experience: I arrived at Immigration this afternoon at approximately 2:40 pm

Your experience is encouraging... But Immigration is presently working under extended hours (6am to 8pm) this was done reportedly because Big Joke rapped a CM Immigration after a report of early morning mobs fighting for queue slots (less than a month ago)... God forbid this get into the Chinese internet stream and depress the land of smiles image as a ideal vacation spot...

We must hopefully wait and see if this new regime is maintained or if they revert back to the status quo of the past few years...

  5. The Red Cross does blood testing on a walk-in basis... They are along the river just south of the US Consul... Plenty of parking... Just wank in the front door... Remove your shoes and go upstairs... there is a counter with the following price list... the lady will ask for your email (to send results)...

There are lots of Thais in California in sanctuary cities, where municipal and state agencies and government have gone to great lengths to protect them.  Many have driver's licenses, run businesses, work, go to school, qualify for in-state college tuition, rent apartments, and even buy houses without any repercussions whatsoever. They can even get a taxpayer ID and file for the EITC, according to this GAO report: https://www.gao.gov/products/GGD-95-27. Meanwhile, members of congress and the US senate will constantly agitate for an illegal alien amnesty that not only will give them permanent residency but a path to citizenship and rights to social security, medicaid, affirmative action preferences.  Sounds pretty good to me.  Meanwhile, we get this overbearing crackdown on foreign retirees in Thailand.  All because some nitwit somewhere decided to mess around with a system that was largely working, fair, and whose income letters probably had a minimum level of abuse.

You need to stop watching so much a Fox News... :coffee1:

No! That is not the problem!

Person living on 45.000 THB can live in Thailand just fine. I'm not really retired, only spend 6 months of Europe winter here, and I spend less than 40.000 THB.

If people with 40.000 THB income are now kicked out, it's simply cruel. And stupid, but this is Thailand, do stupid suits it perfectly! I love, and I hate this country, now that my retired friends will very likely have to leave. This is very cruel, but very Thai!

    Cruel!... Really?..

How would a Thai fare visa wise trying to come and stay long term in your country?...

  8. One thing to note is that VietAir has ATM kiosks at Swampy where you can get domestic boarding passes so you do not need to talk to a desk attendant... Right before the the railing to enter the queue lines you will see a pale blue ATM Kiosk - Have your flight info ready to enter and the kiosk will print a boarding pass

I for one really didn't care how my neighbor got to stay here.

As long as I knew I was legal, no business of mine.

The problem with your logic is that enough of your neighbors have lied on these affidavits to cause Immigration to remove them as an option... Now your neighbors will figure out a scam to rotate 65k in funds in and out monthly or falsely state 800k in the bank... This will lead to Immigration to requiring even more proof or just making the 800k a year round sum required...

  10. Lazada sells all sorts including Karcher.... I would stick with one that is 130psi or above...

Also you can go look at many brands at HomePro ang Globalhouse... But with these you have to deal with the sales guys (which I politely listen but ignore to as I look)

  11. Tonight we went to one of our favorite Thai family roadside resturants just to have Somtam Tort with along with Fried pork ribs and some soup that looks like sewer runoff that my Thai partner loves... Only to find out the owner has taken Somtam Tort off the menu as the cook lady he had for the last 15 years has retired to the countryside... This is the second place we liked that no longer is serving Somtam Tort (the other place on canal rd sold out so they could build a hotel on the land)....

Looking for a new Somtam Tort place - preferably on the south side of - but anywhere will do

Nothing HiSo just basic Thai food

Twice, now, I've opted for reporting online.  Both times I'd been unable to print my receipt after my report had been approved.  So I still had to show up at immigration with a screen print in hand.  No waiting was necessary other than a very brief time for the clerk to finish with the person at her desk.  A receipt was quickly printed and initialed, and I was on my way again.

I'll continue to use the online method, hoping that one of these times I'll be able to print my receipt.

When you get to the page that says "APPROVED". look at the bottom of the page and you will see "The Next Appointment (Print)" ... click on that to get a .pdf of the receipt to put in your passport - It also tells you the next appointment date...
