One can find some relatively stable dividend stocks in the US (T, VZ, SO, BP, GSK)...that offer 5-6% dividend... so your 800k here is costing you 40-50,000 baht a year...

Especially in zone 5 (the area with the small lots in lower left of map)...

I live in BWT... There has been a recent building boom of the pool houses... They look nice but the builder is putting 2-3 on a lot that in the past was designed for one house... so these have little if any yard... If you are keen to live in one I would buy a larger proper lot and ask the builder who built these to build one to your specs with a proper yard... 

Btw... A number of these are finished and none have been sold ;-)...

The Red Cross on the river (just down river from the US Consul)... has a nice easy walk-in clinic on the second floor that does testing and will email you results... just walk into the building pictured, remove shoes and go to the second floor... the place is usually deserted... Day or two... plenty of parking... they do all sorts of blood tests like cholesterol and such too
