Thai police assess potential threats to APEC Summit
bamnutsak replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Protesting during APEC in the area of QSNCC and some 19 hotels, has been banned by Royally gazetted decree. Presumably in repsonse to the four "Swimmers"? -
New edict tightens controls on non-medical use of cannabis in Thailand
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Still digesting this, it really just clarifies some limits imposed on 16 June, and adds a few more. Will need some clarification on things like... license to sell, is this the same requirement as before, or a new licenses/process? "distribution via electronic channels or computer networks" - would seem to ban all online sales and marketing This would seem to be Anutin/BJTs answer to opponents? Google translate... More than 57,000 passengers arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport yesterday
bamnutsak replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I counted 247 international arrivals for Friday, 11 Nov, 00:01-23:59 I did not count cargo flights. Assuming the same number on Thursday - could be +/- ~ 10, then that's ~ 230 per flight, which seems a tad high to me, but given the number of widebodies, incl. A380s, then maybe that's reasonable. There are a lot of arrivals in the afternoon, like one every three minutes for brief periods, well within the operating parameters of departures on one runway and arrivals on the other one. Working Immigration at the airport is rumored to be the least desirable posting. Hardly surprising they're having staffing issues. They know exactly the passenger loads forecasted, that they failed miserably is hardly shocking. -
Citrus Extract Spray Prevents Covid, influenza
bamnutsak replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Hopefully the clinical triall results are published sometime? "Ms Rachada said the Faculty of Tropical Medicine found that the spray could stop 99.9% of COVID-19, Influenza A virus and Human Coronavirus in line with the ASTM E1053-20 standard. It rarely kills RSV but can stop more than 90% of the virus." In Vivo? In Vitro? I think I'll let Thais experiment with this "medicine" for a year or two. -
How old are the plants, from germination? in days or weeks. How long have they been flowering? in days or weeks. What strains? Did you get seeds or cuttings from someone? Maybe you could ask them about the flowering period for this varietal? It looks like a pure sativa. Challenging to make any determination based on those photos. A video or two might be better? Looks like a thrip issue though. What do the trichomes look like under magnification? Calyxes look quite young, my best guess is that you could let these go quite a few, 3 or 4, more weeks.

How did this pyschosis manifest? Did you hear voices communicating with only you? Were you diagnosed? Maybe it was the strain, or there was something amiss with your skunk? How often did you smoke? How much per day? I think the obvious solution is to just smoke less if it's strong? I occasionally pull on a 90% stick; never experienced any pychosis. I will say that more than a few members here do present with pychosis, but that doesn't seem related to cannabis. And it could just be them get up in years, and being triggered by a fast-changing world?

It seems like this change was made by Ministerial order, much the same as Cannabis was removed from the Narcotics list. This change/edict was issued just before the Liquor Bill was voted down by 2 votes. This seems like good news as it will allow smaller brew-pubs to thrive, and find a customer base. I haven't followed this grass-roots effort, but a quick scan indicates that activists/proponents generally find this a good thing. Some minor? issues with the permitting and licensing perhaps?

I'm not sure the streaming option can scale - hundreds of millions - especially when you get to last 15 matches. The 2018 Final was said to have been viewed by 1.12 BILLION people. I mean Netflix, Amazon, etc. have built sophisticated CDNs, so hoping tens of millions of people are re-streaming may not be enough?

Nothing really. This is just the... who is probably just looking for issues or excuses? Japanese tourists travel to the U.S. and Canada, both with total/partial cannabis legalization, and this hasn't been raised as an issue. Some Japanese authroites have said the chance of a returning citizen being tested and prosecuted are "nil". Singapore has pretty strict rules - use in legalized countries is treated as if the citizen had used cannabis in Singapore - for their own returning citizens, but am not sure if those are really being enforced? This - impact on tourism - could be a deal-breaker, forcing us to a medical-only environment. And the foreign treaty situation was highlighted early on - that cannabis legalization somehow impacts existing treaties - but I've never seen that fleshed out.

In shops? Some might have it but for the most part they're focused on the higher end, for less price-sensitive customers. On-line you can buy locally grown Thai Sativa flower, and both dirt-weed and brick-weed. Just saw a post on MariJBKK (LINE/FB/Messenger) with three local varieties... Gandeng, Tanawsri, Phetchaburi. I see these pretty much daily on my feeds. On LINE Shopping just enter Wild Thailand. There are a lot of sativa-dominant strains, but they may not give you the exact experience you're hoping to recreate? Maybe look as your arrival date gets closer.

flying into dmk air aisa
bamnutsak replied to ba ba's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Arrive PNH early, check in as soon as the desk opens. If denied boaridng then purchase a ticket booking online, it takes a few minutes, get back in line. If you're denied entry (this would likely be due to reasons OTHER than not having an onward ticket) at BKK/DMK, etc. you will be responsible for purchasing a ticket to leave Thailand. The airline you arrived on may not be the airline you depart on, in this circumstance. Personally I'd pony up the $15 for the onward ticket booking, it's "insurance". Thai Imm/security services have scrubbed the manifest, within minutes of the aircraft taking off, for people requiring extra scrutiny on arrival. -
300 baht seems to be a thing now. TAT wants their 300 baht. Soon everyone will want their 300 baht. 300 baht per room per night, regardless of the price of the room? That makes no sense. If anything it should be a percentage. How long would this fee be imposed? Eventually it would go away? Every hotel would collect the 300 baht, and keep it? Or remit it to the government for use in "aiding the industry's recovery"? This would eat into the profit margin on the zero dollar tours. Seems like a lazy idea. Improve the product/experience, then charge more.

FIFA is unlikely to reduce the price, as this will encourage similar behavior in 2026 and beyond. And the countries that already paid full price might demand a refund if Thailand gets a break? If anything FIFA should charge Thailand MORE. Like a last-minute airline ticket. Obviously the money will be found, but the incompetence is, ok, so Thai. Seen some reports that ~ 50 billion baht will be wagered. Seems like the government should get the gambling mafia to pony up the 2% to pay?

I know you're not here in Bangkok, but honeslty it still smells like an open sewer, with hints of rotting food. The canals are still putrid, cesspools, perhaps with a bit less discarded furniture. I haven't smelled weed out in public - I live nearly on top of an "entertainment" zone, where there are at least twelve dispensaries (even those don't emit odors until you go inside) - since 9 June. But don't let stop you from commenting from far, far away.

What is the fair price for premium cannabis in Thailand?
bamnutsak replied to Wuvu2's topic in Thailand Cannabis Forum
For me, as of today, it's 1,500 THB for an eighth (3.5g), so ~ 430 THB/gram. That's my ceiling. Indoor, Thai grown. Western seed stock. I prefer Sativa-dominant strains Most recent purchase yesterday, 400 baht per gram, for 5 grams. Online order. Amnesia Zkittles, a fantastic sativa-dominant strain. Production costs are quite high here. Dispensaries are at least +100 baht/gram, as they are (for the most part) retailers of product they purchase at the wholesale price (35-40% discount based on volume). I really have no clue on the pricing/distribution model for illegally imported finished flower. IMO, Cannabangka dispensaries (Soi Sathorn 8 is the location I've visited) have the best price/product. Sale on now 420/g, 1,420/3.5 g. Comparing to my home legal state in the U.S., a comparable eighth is $66 ($55, plus 20% total tax - people often forget to add in the tax when quoting U.S. prices), or 2,380 THB, or 680 THB/gram. Comparing prices to black-market, pound-size volumes in the U.S. seems a fruitless endeavor. Production costs in the U.S. are often quoted at $350/lb as of today. -
Putin will not attend the APEC leader’s meeting
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
No one really expected him to attend. All that sucking up the Thai diplomatic corpse engaged in was for naught. Hopefully they can cut back on the ultra-security measures a bit. -

Tom Brady and ex Giselle Bundschen, Steph Curry, Naomi Osaka and others are probably out a ton of cash on the FTX collapse. Be like Larry... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noekVG8XLQI -
Yes, of course something will be lashed together. The thought of illegally streaming the matches would be a very bad look for the Kingdom. The SAT is trying to negotiate FIFA down to 1.2 b (total) from 1.6 b. So they may only need another 600 m? The fee for the 2018 World Cup was 1.4 b, with the deal settled months before the first match. It was reported that nine companies joined forces to help fund the TV rights: King Power Group, CP, Thai Beverage, Kasikorn Bank, Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS), Gulf Energy Development, PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC), Bangchak Corporation and Carabao Dang. Not sure Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS) should be ponying up cash, they're like 11 b in the hole.
