90 days report by post
bamnutsak replied to RafPinto's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
With stamps totaling 37 baht. I used to do this when I applied by mail. I/we used to purchase an EMS sticker (for return tracking) but Imm started applying their EMS sticker over it. Imm/CW uses EMS. I think there is a large-ish Thai Post facility within the building. Four weeks was not unheard of back in the day, most recommended a visit in the six/eight week timeframe if no return receipt. -

I think there is a requirement for EMS postage on the return envelope, so 37 baht. Did your stamps total 37 baht or greater? (I know the immigration website still says 10 baht.) And it also says... Your registered mail must be sent to the Immigration office at least 15 days before the due date of notification. https://www.immigration.go.th/?page_id=1666 -
How-to connect iphone 15 to Samsung TV?
bamnutsak replied to On-my-way-Home's topic in IT and Computers
What do you want to do, other than cast on YouTube? To cast YouTube, both devices need to be on the same WiFi network (so no use of a VPN). You need to install the YouTube app on your Samsung TV (you can download it from the Samsung apps store). Select a video, touch the "cast" icon, top looks like a TV with 3 wifi waves. Select the TV. You may be able to cast using pairing, or a code (which can support devices on different networks). https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/7640706?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DiOS -
Low cost way to have a USA phone number
bamnutsak replied to JohnOFphon's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
Buy and activate an UltraMobile PAYG SIM, $3/month. https://www.ultramobile.com/paygo/ https://www.ebay.com/itm/285112988423 Then get a Google Voice number (free), as a cost-effective back-up option. -
"by all accounts"? What is the status of his passport renewal? Did he get photos? Complete a DS-82? Pay $130 USD on pay.gov? Purchase a Thai Post 100 THB service, mail in his package with 'old' passport? If so, when did the package get mailed? Recent reports are 35 - 45 days end-to-end service times.

For what crimes can Trump pardon himself if he manage to win?
bamnutsak replied to bubblegum's topic in Political Soapbox
I don't think he can pardon himself for any charges/indictments ("crimes") for which he remains unconvicted. So "Jan 6", and the "Documents" cases would simply be dropped by the DoJ on 20 Jan 2025. And a sitting President cannot serve jail time (DoJ-OLC 'rule"), so any State crimes/convictions would have to sit until 20 Jan 2029. -
FWIW, you can make cardless ATM withdrawals of cash at an ATM using the Bank's mobile app (QR Code). So no need to carry a card. Do you mean for log-in? Or payment? Or both? {I only use Lazada.} For log-in they offer a few options, I use the in-app 2FA option. For payment, I use PromptPay by scanning the QR code with my Bank's mobile app.

You have, at most three local ATM/Debit cards? No need to carry cards, just use the Bank's mobile app and pay via PromptPay. Obviously, if you need cash carry that one ATM/Debit card to the ATM. AFAIK, Thai ATM/Debit cards do not have 2FA. Most banks here have an option for notifications of use, email/in app/SMS. Most mobile apps here have options for managing limits/usage.

FYI, this was released in the U.S. on PBS (Masterpiece/Passport) a month ago and is widely available. -
Clutch intra-divisional away win, great game. Doubly important given their next opponent. Definitely, worth a 03:25 wake-up call.

Taylor Swift Donates $5 Million to Hurricane Relief Efforts
bamnutsak replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Ms. Swift made this donation directly to Feeding America. The non-profit publicized the donation, which probably resulted in additional donations. I was able to port out my Tmobile prepaid/payg SIM/number to UltraMobile PAYG ($3/month) by phoning TMobile customer service from Thailand. Mint, Ultra are part of TMobile so their customer service can 'see' everything the change was instantaneous. I'd consider giving it a try. As always YMMV. This is a port out/in and not a new activation. And you keep the same number, which can be handy. Once you've done this consider registering (via a VPN and your UltraMobile number) for Google Voice, which for me works in all of the ~ 20 or so applications. For other new UltraMobile PAYG SIMs, I had a relative activate them in the U.S. ( a link is sent to the phone, which I had my relative copy/paste to me, here where I took over the registration process) before mailing them onto me - meant for friends here who needed a solution.

You may be able to port out your Mint number to UltraMobile's $3/month (includes 100 SMSes) PAYG plan. I think Mint and UltraMobile are part of Tmobile. I was able to port my TMobile SIM/number out to UltraMobile's $3/month plan. This plan supports WiFi calling, and SMS'es are delivered reliably.
