  1. Instantly create more aircraft out of thin air. Find the cash to pay for them. Manifest pilots, air crew, ground staff out of whole cloth. I'm always amazed at how poorly informed the general populace is here. Short of the government subsidizing airlines, or demanding that airline lose money, there aren't a lot of options. More people want to fly, than there are cheap seats still available.
  2. His hair is impressively black. And his makeup looks mahvelous.
  3. It's called supply and demand. Along with some complex pricing models which drive people into higher fare buckets as the seats sell on a particular flight. As Warren Buffet said about investing in airlines...“If a capitalist had been present at Kitty Hawk back in the early 1900s he should’ve shot Orville Wright; he would have saved his progeny money.”
  4. Hence his push for lower interest rates.

  6. Can you provide a link? I've searched, no luck, obviously using nong bua lam phu just yields videos of the massacre there last year. found it https://www.youtube.com/@LifeinThailand777 too many Isaan Farmer channels.
  7. You do realize this is a "whinge"? Right?
  8. Alexander Smirnov, a witting Russian agent peddling disinformation to the Putin wing of the Republican party. James Comer a useful idiot? Who could have guessed?
  9. There are a lot of great, detailed "trip reports" posted in this sub-forum. Some detail the exact documents needed, down to the ordering of the documents. A search would probably reveal helpful information. I rely on these and offer my experiences if different to help others. IMO it is better to have too many documents.
  10. Bring me a rope Somchai, and doth thou havest a chair?
  11. As long as Russia agrees not to seize the aircraft and scavenge it for parts, the PM should feel free to reignite. TG will have to check with the lessor of the airframe for approvals and probably pony a surety/bond in the $150 - $250 million range. https://simpleflying.com/major-airlines-serving-russia-2024-list/#emirates Russia was taken by surprise when it lost 76 passenger planes due to Ukraine invasion sanctions, minister says https://news.yahoo.com/russia-taken-surprise-lost-76-153930038.html
  12. I'm not sure he'll get as far as he'd like. Thailand is still super ultra-conservative. The Senate will probably not approve much beyond the Democratic Party's position: The Democrats are pledging to make it easier for the LGBTQ+ community to hold Pride festivals and other events in public spaces. They are also pledging to work to prevent all types of sexual harassment and bullying, and ensure that all genders will have equal rights. The party will also encourage media outlets to report on the community without bias. MoveForward was by far the most progressive on this issue. PTP less so. Pheu Thai also supports marriage equality. It says it will promote Thailand as a global destination for LGBTQ+ tourists to stimulate tourism. It will also draft a guidebook and create an online platform to promote the rights of LGBTQ+ people. https://www.nationthailand.com/thailand/politics/40027525
  13. Neither. I think "Anna" is taking the photo. Maybe the short guy is Anna's "brother"?
No clue how often they adjust these? Looks like BKK-HKT round trip ceiling is 18,148 in Y? Although not sure if the list I used is current.
  15. I'll take extra Grid thank you. Curious about what their internet connection is? Do they even get a mobile signal?
  16. This ejit is comparing today's price to that from four years ago. Honestly, I'm surprised these people can manage to find their way to the bathroom. Most savvy travelers, who are planning a trip around a known extended holiday like Songkran, have booked their tickets and accommodations already.
  17. There are flights BKK-CNX available today, this afternoon and evening. 2,500 THB one way. I think were off the ultra-peak fare period with the passing of CNY.
  18. His lack of experience, cluelessness, and naivete were funny at the beginning. Now it's getting dangerous with him anywhere near the government. His comments the past few days on the economy border on irresponsible. At the very least he should appoint a well-respected Minister of Finance.
  19. He always has his neck turned at a significant angle, which you would think would be painful, for someone with degenerative bones in his neck. Clearly, he's not the best actor. His makeup is getting better though.
  20. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. Makes for great travel planning.
  21. At CW, the first time I encountered this form a few years back (2019 or 2020 I think) the IO handed me this form and asked me to fill it in. I was applying for an ext stay/ret. I have submitted this form at each subsequent extension, and it has been accepted.
  22. So I'm guessing the PM will remain mum on the state-sponsored murder of Alexei Navalny? Not great timing on this plea for tourists. Shameful.
  23. It's called supply and demand. Simply amazing that someone in authority here is so clueless. And even thinks it's OK to fix prices. The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand does not set ticket prices. from the linked article... Suriya reportedly asserted that fare reductions would be implemented before the Songkran Festival. Obviously, he hasn't looked at domestic prices for Songkhran travel, where all low-price fare buckets are sold out already.
  24. It is interesting that when thaksin was in the hospital, and people were asking about the specifics of his condition(s), we were told that his medical privacy was protected by law. Now that he's out of the hospital, and on parole, there seems to be no shortage of details from the thaksin camp on his many, many, many health issues. I'm not sure who this charade is for. No one believes a word said about this fiasco
