  1. Why would "they" "paint the house" now, after he's been a whistle-blower for seven-plus years? Maybe he left a note? Maybe the firearm was registered to him? Maybe he was depressed? Staging a suicide in a parked truck seems daunting.
  2. Might be more effective to limit the sales of ice. Only the hardcore like piping hot beer and Sangsom.
  3. The goals are inexpensive and fast. Taste can be adjusted with extra condiments. There are many levels of street food quality, so there are some good options at the higher end of that scale. These probably start with quality ingredients, cooked to order, with a balanced flavor profile that does not distract from the ingredients.
  4. That's quite a lot of money. Almost like "they" want him out of the country while "they" run it. I wonder if this includes airfare (on RTAF or TG)?
  5. On the plus side, the General didn't ask the lad to wear his wife's underwear, as far as we know.
  6. Consider yourself "rounded up"? (Capt. Renault style.)
  7. Hmmm? Maybe just reassign all the conscripted house-boys from the General's homes to active duty? So much for Military reforms, and the end of conscription.
  8. I say let them all go...maybe they'll do something about PM2.5? "Mobile Parliament"?
  9. If they added flights, then there would be more seats in the lower fare buckets. Or they moved seats from higher fare buckets to lower fare buckets. They have limited options to add flights given constraints on aircraft and crew (who also want Songkhran off). The CAAT-set caps for most of these sectors were NEVER exceeded, so this "response" is meant to make it look like CAAT is doing something. But it's really just a poke in the eye.
  10. Take/post a photo of the bottom of the unit. Seems like it's a frequency issue but I would think it supports 1800 and/or 2100 since it worked with DTAC in Thailand. Could be an APN issue? Could also be an IMEI (on the 4G no-name router) check/denial by the network. Maybe have a search/read on the ee community forum? https://community.ee.co.uk/
  11. Show a copy of the ThaiPost receipt. Show a copy of your "old" passport. Still overthinking. That said, I've received ~ 70-ish EMS envelopes/packages, and never once asked for an ID.
  12. Copies? Show passport then seal envelope? You're overthinking here.
  13. No, AFAIK, it is still alive. The frigate is supposed to be a bait/switch for the sub but I don't think the Chinese want to play that game.
  14. It comes via EMS (Thai Post), you paid 100 baht for that service, so in theory, if you're not at home, they should leave a notice and you go to the local PO to pick it up. However, if you know your local EMS driver they may leave it with a neighbor if that's done in your neighborhood. I always have to sign for an EMS delivery, finger on a mobile app.
  15. The provider may not offer/allow "tethering" on your current plan? Maybe try it in your phone first, to see if you can create and share personal WiFi Hotpot. I'd contact them.
  16. Rug starting to move under the current PM. Hence the dust-up with cheap imports recently on Soi 11.
  17. I think it is illegal to import cannabis into any state in the U.S. States have very strict seed-to-sale rules/laws. Not sure about Canada? Maybe export is OK for "Scientific" purposes.
  18. He has a few leads, he made a few sales calls. Probably expensed a lavish lunch or three. No deals closed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nsl1ZxnreDE
  19. Domestically-produced elephant pants seem to be the primary goal. https://www.thaipbsworld.com/tag/national-soft-power-strategy-committee/
  20. Yikes! How many police stations are there? (Let's not ask Suthep.) But Cannabis is the problem. The prisons are full, way beyond capacity. And 80% are in for meth. A diversion program (AKA "Five Pills") is about the only option. However it will not be funded, staffed, or administered properly, so maybe just best to keep any meth possession a crime, with punishments varying by volume.
  21. Known as Jimmy Conway (Robert DeNiro) in Good Fellas which mentions Henry Hill's (Ray Liotta) involvement in this heist. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J90bX7nGbb8
  22. Meme-worthy photo from Lop Buri... https://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/2024/02/10/lopburi-locals-ask-the-prime-minister-to-address-monkey-issues/
  23. Two to three Billion Baht "breakage" on this "procurement". Eventual salvage.
  24. The transition, were it to happen, from recreational use to medical use only will be fascinating to watch. Of course it will be a mess. But not a perfect one. This government will find a way to muck it up. from the linked article... The final result could be a deliberately opaque law that delivers some political windfalls for all sides. “This is going to be up to the political decision by the prime minister which requires quite a lot of courage to fix this matter,” he said. “Politically speaking, it is up to them whether they will be concerned more about public benefits or their own political benefits.” Interesting that the primary consideration seems to be "politics" rather than "health" or "public benefits".
  25. How is a Formula E street circuit selected? Unlike other circuit-based championships, the vast majority of tracks visited by Formula E are entirely temporary rather than permanent race tracks, built in the heart of some of the world’s leading cities and constructed and homologated on the eve of the event thanks to a close collaboration between the FIA, Formula E, the National Sporting Authority (ASN) and the local promoter. https://www.fiaformulae.com/en/news/483933/how-formula-e-designs-and-builds-fia-world-championship-street-circuits That said, I think this is a pipe-dream. The PM is desperate for some sort of validation of his globe-hoping. Once Thais smell the coffee - outgoing brown envelopes versus incoming ones, this one will fade away.
