  1. The scary cannabis news stories seem to have dipped dramatically. Maybe the odd dispensary raid. But then "friends" of a Russian tourist claimed Cannabis impairment for his near-drowning experience in Pattaya yesterday. Based on reports it sounds like he was Vodka-ized. The earliest any legislation is expected to be ratified is mid-2024, which with a 3 - 6 month "amnesty" period means Cannabis will be "out of control" for close to a year.
  2. Hopefully potential foreign tourists do not Google "Thailand fiery bus crash" for Images.
  3. This 120-day ticker may be used to justify an early pardon, from February 2024 to the next two weeks.
  4. I think the requirement may be within 24 hours, that's certainly the target for hotels. IMO, just get it done as soon as you can after your arrival. And maybe ask your landlord to register on the new online system - it's much easier and faster than the 'old' system - and file a report on you after you arrive. https://tm30.immigration.go.th/tm30/#/external/security/register/reg-web
  5. There were rumors he'd get a Royal Pardon yesterday, on Father's Day. That didn't happen. Now the sense is that he'll have to tough it out until February, although something around 1/1/24 gets mentioned in the local rumor mill.
  6. There are massive drug busts, usually millions of meth (Ya Ba) pills, just about every week here. Mostly being transported through Thailand, from the north to the deep south, or Bangkok environs. for transshipment to a variety of foreign countries. Crystal meth (Ya Ice) is a bit pricey for the local market so most of that gets shipped to foreign countries. The precursors mostly originate in Thailand, and get shipped north, to processing facilities in Burma. One has to assume that the RTA, and RTP, are either incompetent or are complicit in the transhipments of precursors and finished goods. A Thai Parliamentary Senator, Senator Upakit Pachariyangkun, has been implicated in various illegal activities as the point-man in Thailand. An arrest warrant was issued, but it was quickly and quietly withdrawn. Upakit has powerful allies. The attorney-general is scheduled to issue her decision on July 26 on whether to indict the senator on the charge of drug trafficking, according to the spokesman. https://www.nationthailand.com/thailand/general/40027781
  7. I just successfully filed a TM30, and I left the check-out field blank. I did fill in the middle and last name fields, even though those do not have the red asterisk. This latest rev. does have the PDF Export feature, which is a bit handier than the screen grab process.
  8. I was addressing the OP, who may also be a tax expert as you are.
  9. I assume you're familiar with the pending tax changes, which may impact any funds remitted into Thailand. You should probably look for a tax consultant now, and begin some planning. Your tax bill could be significant. And consider bringing in as much as you can wrangle before 1/1/24.
  10. Looks like the website is back up, re-jiggered to be more in line with potential medical-only legal requirements and Know Your Customer rules, in the future. Also, using Broccoli instead of bud, which for some reason is a trend. Pending legislation, see long article on BP 3 Dec, seems very confusing right now, DTAM/MoPH hope to pass something by "mid-year" 2024.
  11. The credit card thing will be a potentially major hit. For example, all air tickets ex THL are issued in THB (Sold Inside, Ticketed Inside - SITI), so if using a foreign credit card you'll essentially be remitting your foreign currency for that purchase. For a THL-USA-THL RT in business that might be a 175,000 Baht (assessible income) hit. I use my foreign CC here for ~ 100,000 baht each year, exclusive of air tickets and domestic hotels. The consensus here and elsewhere is that ATM withdrawals would probably be considered accessible income. A lot of Thai people, who receive funds from off-shore, may be in for a surprise.
  12. For S03 only the first two eps have been released, weekly for the next four eps. This show is better binged IMO, but it's too good to wait. May re-watch all three seasons in the future. So much can be missed; I had to rewatch Cartwright's "diamond snatch" set-up.
  13. Wide-mouth Mason jar (Qt.), 62% Boveda pack, temp/humidity guage optional. Store in the coolest darkest location. No need for vacuums, freezers, or even refrigerators.
  14. Seems fully functional now...I paid a few bills, made a few scan&pay transactions. I've become quite dependent on this app, so when it's down it is inconvenient.
  15. So unrelated to this topic/issue.
  16. You made this transfer using the SCB Easy app?
  17. SCB Thailand FB page Currently, the SCB EASY app is temporarily unavailable. The bank deeply apologizes for the inconvenience. Over 1,000 comments, most not that nice, in 20 minutes. For those of you who have found the problem of not being able to access SCB EASY App. The bank recognizes the problem and is working to fix it as soon as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  18. Still cannot pay bills. Not sure what else I can or cannot do.
  19. Cleared Cache, Restarted App launches, but... no functionality Red error message flashed at the top of the screen briefly, wasn't able to read the message entirely, saw "back soon". Functionality slowly returning, very slow but getting better? Can't pay a bill, hit Confirm, get error message. Nothing on SCB's X or FB pages.
  20. Already verified latest version, 3.73.0 updated Nov 1 Just trying to understand if others are experiencing the same problem.
  21. Android For me, the SCB Easy app hangs on the launch screen. It worked fine yesterday. Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue?
  22. Terminal 21, lowest floor (LG?), left, back corner near garage entrance and elevator bank. In most malls, on the lowest floor, there is a key guy and a shoe guy.
  23. Kneejerk. Good thing the Minister of Education is a former National Police Chief.
  24. Are there testing facilities here where you can send your bud for analysis? I think some have mentioned these somewhere in this sub-forum. cannabis testing facility bangkok gets a few interesting hits.
