  1. I think his number one task will be to put the "Monarch Reforms" toothpaste back in the tube. That will be challenging, as he has no real power, and will require a harsh clamp-down on any perceived anti-Monarchy sentiments.
  2. According to the current Constitution, the King is the Head of State, and his power is unlimited. He can grant pardons anytime he wishes. It is weird that Wissanu appears to be speaking for the King, and applying limits to his authority. All that said, it is far too early to discuss a pardon, which might come in the form of multiple pardons, reducing the sentence each time, over a period of months or even a year.
  3. Why the rush? Seriously, this is a joke, right?
  4. I hope he understands what he got himself into. Other than the usual platitudes - work hard, for the people - he has rarely come across as someone who has articulated his core beliefs re: the many issues facing Thailand and its citizens. Unless he has a lot more support than has so far been indicated, he may not last long. Let's see how the "10,000 Baht Digital Wallet" legislation progresses.
  5. Least surprising bit of news so far in this "election" debacle. The amount of wheeling and dealing for ministries, and the associated 'troughage' must have been staggering. Thaksin is probably the only one who could herd these cats. Next up, decapitate MFP.
  6. I assume they're still preparing his accommodations at the family-owned/operated Praram 9 Hospital? I'm not certain who they (Courts/RTP/Thaksin) think the audience is for this charade, but absolutely no one believes he suddenly became ill within a few hours of his return. The lengths they are going to to describe the lodging conditions, and his multiple health issues is an indication of prevarication. Illness(es) are just being used as one of several grounds for a Pardon. Baby steps. Just 10 years ago "amnesty" threw the country into a convulsive fit. Now, not so much.
  7. He looked chipper on the G650 yesterday. It would be better if they just skipped to the end part where he is Pardoned, but banned from Politics for at least 10 years.
  8. For online purchases, the seller asks for proof of payment, usually shared in a Messenger or LINE chat. I used to do a screen grab, but screen grabs with SCB Easy yield a black screen. This is not a Settings (App or Android) issues. I assume this is limited within the SCB App for security reasons. Yes, the payment slip can be shared from within the SCB Easy app across many/most applications including LINE, Messenger, etc. The payment slip can be regenerated from the History "tab". Yes, payment slips are stored locally in /Pictures/SCB EASY (Android).

  12. Can't wait to hear what his weight and height are. North of 300? Please remove your lifts.
  13. The alleged assailant was confronted by the police subsequently, and he died in an exchange of gunfire. The suspected killer, who is now deceased, was identified as Travis Ikeguchi, 27, Sheriff Shannon Dicus said at a news conference on Monday evening. After allegedly shooting Carleton, the suspect fled the crime scene on foot, but was found by sheriff's deputies several miles from her store, where he was fatally shot in a confrontation, authorities said. The sheriff's office said the assailant was armed with a handgun, which authorities said Monday night was a Smith & Wesson 9mm automatic handgun, and refused orders to drop the weapon. When deputies tried to apprehend the suspect, he reportedly shot at them and they fired back. Despite using lifesaving measures, the suspect died at the scene, the sheriff said Monday. https://abcnews.go.com/US/california-store-owner-shot-dead-dispute-displaying-pride/story?id=102408818
  14. There are reports that he will be taken to the Supreme Court, where I assume he will be granted bail, and released perhaps with some limitations. Adjudication of his various sentences can come at a later date after he's held up his part of the deal. A Royal Pardon would come later after the initial buzz has died down. His years in exile will be used to justify no jail time.
  15. Mr. Thaksin Shinawat's flight has departed from Singapore Seletar Airport heading to Don Mueang Airport, Thailand . This flight is flown by Gulfstream G650-ER, world's leading private jet T7-GTS, expected to reach Don Mueang Airport at 9:00 AM. On the initial schedule https://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/T7GTS .

  17. My one complaint on SCB Easy is that you cannot pre-load Favorites (transfers, bill payments). You have to wait until you make the first transaction, then remember to tick the "star" icon to add to Favorites. Not being able to do a screenshot (black screen, for me anyway) is a bit annoying, but I assume that limitation is security related? You can share the slip across most other apps to support proof of payment. I mainly used web-access to transfer money to my other accounts. I can't say I miss it much. The SCB Easy app is easy to use, reliable and provides a lot of functionality. I also use it to manage my SCB Planet card.
  18. Thanks. I already have an id.me account (for myssa access), and it was one step to add pay.gov to that, then added a CC. Very easy. Thanks for mentioning that, very helpful. Still looking for recent, first-hand experience with Thailand Postmart payment. I assume that direct bank transfer, or QR/Promptpay is an option, but looking for confirmation rather than guesses.
  19. The Constitution Prohibits Trump From Ever Being President Again The only question is whether American citizens today can uphold that commitment. By J. Michael Luttig and Laurence H. Tribe As students of the United States Constitution for many decades—one of us as a U.S. Court of Appeals judge, the other as a professor of constitutional law, and both as constitutional advocates, scholars, and practitioners—we long ago came to the conclusion that the Fourteenth Amendment, the amendment ratified in 1868 that represents our nation’s second founding and a new birth of freedom, contains within it a protection against the dissolution of the republic by a treasonous president. https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2023/08/donald-trump-constitutionally-prohibited-presidency/675048/
  20. The appointment page for CW lists "40 minutes" as the processing time for the Re-entry permit (REEP). They have 22 slots per day. Appointments are available in 15 minute intervals. These slots get taken up quickly. The issue with the REEP is that they process step 1 (submittal, payment) quickly, but the "approval" process seems to take a longer amount of time as they are approved in batches. My guess is that you cannot leave it one day then pick it up on a later day. I'm not sure a third-party can apply for a REEP, say like a 90-day report. Maybe with a PoA?
  21. Been there, done that. I was asking about the Thailand PostMart web-site, and which forms of payment (credit, debit, promptpay, etc) they accept for the 100 baht postage fee. I didn't want to create an account there (yet), and was unable to get the "Guest" access (phone/SMS) to work, si I was unable to get to they payment option screens. If you know the answer to my question feel free to provide it. And is pay.gov reasonably easy to use, including registration. Any unique challenges (like an SMS OTP)?
  22. What forms of payment can be used for the 100 baht envelope/postage fee?
  23. Inspiration? Bangkok's Airport Rail Link still suffering big losses from drop in passenger numbers Bangkok’s Airport Rail Link operator has been losing approximately 70 million baht per month as passenger traffic has not returned to pre-pandemic levels yet, the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) said. https://www.nationthailand.com/thailand/general/40028026 The Airport Rail Link is owned by the SRT, and operated (since 2021) by Asia Era One, which is part of the CP Group. One assumes they'll get this HSR/NE "concession"?
