The point here is Thailand Is supposed to a be a world class medical hub. Over almost 25 yrs in the area, the level of English has not improved. It has gotten worse, even amongst professionals. Yes, it’s a difficult language, but I would consider it mandatory for all in the medical profession here. The other part which is more serious is that the students only get a translated version of what was originally written if they only learn in Thai. So, whomever went to University in Sweden, France Australia etc, kinds of writes all their training material with their particular twist to it when they return and eventually teach. If you go to one doctor that comes from CMU for instance you have basically visited them all unless they have had intensive overseas training.
