  1. Definitely going to the London pie shop. Just wondering, how big are they ? Cannot tell from his Facebook pictures.

Is his shop easy to find ?

Yorkies do them and they are quite big, about 8" long. Not sure if you can obtain in bulk but you can try before you buy so many. They sell at Best Supermsrket near Dolphin Circus and Big C. To be honest, I much prefer their pork pies.

Yer, Yorkies do great pork pies, they have a 'stand' pie which is a huge pork pie.... excellent.

  3. I know these 'best in Pattaya' posts get posted a lot but ... i'm coming down to Pattaya from where i live in central Thailand and will be buying around 1-200 frozen to take home depending on how good they are.. The only time i see a sausage roll is on the internet. I've had a look around on the internet and the price varies a lot as does the size.

I know this is each to their own taste but, my question is to you locals who eat them, what supplier has the best value sausage roll in Pattaya ?

  4. During the world cup there was some great posts on how to watch it on your computer (linked to a tv).

Unfortunately windows last update, a big one, wiped all my bookmarks from my Firefox browser and removed all my restore points, so cannot find which sites they mentioned. I use sopcast at the moment but it doesn't always show the games i want to watch and its always in either Russian or Arabic.

So, if you watch the footie via the internet can you let me know which sites you use.... only free to watch ones.... cheap charlie here ?.

  5. I started a topic on sugar free drinks back in March. As you've already heard, Thai's want sugar in their fizzy drinks or they won't buy them. I have a snooker hall, i put small bottles of Pepsi max in the fridge and 1 month later took them out and took them home, untouched.

I've been looking for  commercial sugar free drink (not coke) to mix with evening drink but yet to find one.

  6. Use this link, comes with freebies and has reviews from Thai's. I personally think Xiaomi are now one of the up and coming market force's, a bit like Hyundai in the motor market. They are scaring the big name with equal quality products but way cheaper price. I've got a dash cam by them and its awesome quality and i'd definitely get this phone :-

  7. Defo contact the police. These parcels usually contain porcelain products filled with drugs. If customs dont pick the scent and she receives them he gets them for free but if customs get wind of the drugs she gets the wrap for them !

p.s.  the excuse 'i didn't know what they were' rarely works.

Email submission is still an option.

    https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/671934/Pension_04_01_2018.pdf

The form is rather confusing as it notes at the top 'This service is only available by post'. But, nearer the bottom, it states 'Email your application and documents to...'

I used the email option earlier this year (same form was on the website) and all worked out fine. Suggest you send by email and you should receive a confirmation of receipt once sent.

JEEEZ... you weren't kidding. After your reply it still took me 4 attempts to find it..... many thanks, great relief.

Change to a sand filter & use "Eco Clear" recycle glass media.(Lasts 15 yrs)

Probably about the same price as replacement grids. Plus no more ongoing DE powder.

I have a display model sand filter which would do the job. (Never used)

    PM me if interested.

    Message sent.

  10. I live in a remote part of Thailand and have an above ground pool. My filter is a Hayward DE6020 grid mesh which the mesh has started to decay. I've been patching it up but its almost done. So, i looked online to find a store that sells them and to my surprise, or computer incompetence, i could only find one dealer selling them. (speedpool).

So, was wondering if anyone could help me by telling me of any other websites that sells filter replacements parts.

Use currency solutions of London. You'll need to register, its fairly easy, but you get a way higher rate of exchange, you'll be registered under the money laundering act and dont pay any tax. Minimum transfer 10k. They have literally made me 10's of thousands over the years.

Sorry, alcohol related answer.... currency solutions.. cannot go wrong if 10 + ... seriously, exchange rate is way way better than any other !!

  12. The research i did shows that all the major games air to be air on standard Thai TV plus Truevision :-

2018: Channel 3 HD, Channel 5 HD, Channel 7 HD, Channel 9 MCOT HD, Channel 11 HD, Thai PBS HD, True Sport HD (all matches in live telecast)

For me, i found that all the English games can be watched on the main Thai channels (free).

As for you, its anyone's guess as to whether the army or the police will let bars stay open after hours to air the games. Me thinks nearer the date they will let you know and not before for sure.

It is very noticeable that none of them show a photograph with the power cable, which one assumes must dangle from the rear view mirror to the cigarette lighter in all eternity.

    Not a great solution

The power cable comes with all of them, it tucks in easily round the top of the windscreen, down the door rubber, behind the glove compartment and out next to the cigarette lighter.... took me about 10 minutes.

    Great solution !

Do not believe most Thai would know what diet coke was - the sugar free version here is Coke Zero and is served at McDonalds so it is known.  There is also a Coke Lite but have never seen anywhere and have not tasted.  Other than perhaps green tea do not believe there is much choice here normally, and even less demand.  But Coke/Pepsi/EST all have sugar free versions now so perhaps in another decade there was be something other than cola.

They know what diet coke is, i never said they didn't, they just dont want a drink without sugar.

  15. I'm trying to find a supermarket that sell sugar free drinks apart from coca cola (i have bad reactions to caffeine). Its crazy out here for sugary drinks.

I (my wife) own a snooker hall, in it there are 2 display fridges full of various drinks, all full of sugar. I recently tried putting small bottles of diet coke in. One month later and they still haven't been touched.

I like the Thai whiskey 'Hong Tong'. Usually drink it with soda and a large splash of Sprite. But recently noticed it was affecting my teeth so looked online for a supermarket selling sugar free drinks. Apart from cola and soda with a hint of flavor (yuk), i couldn't find any.

So, has anyone seen any 'diet' drinks and if so what ?

^^^ Great choice... Out of the box it’s menu is all Chinese so don’t try to set anything up with the devices menu... get the app on your phone and sync them together (Many YouTube apps will show you how)... then the setup is a breeze as the app is in English!...

Thanks, though i this this one states it has an English menu, if not i will follow your advice, cant wait to try it out.

    Thanks for all the replies.

Having considered this a lot it appears that the 3 main ones mentioned, T626SE, G1W and the Xiaomi Yi  are all very good for the price. It was a coin toss as to which one but went for the Xiaomi Yi  :-

    https://www.lazada.co.th/xiaomi-yi-dash-cam-full-hd-1080p-adas-wi-fi-gray-sandisk-microsd16gb-class10-98mbs-ultra-29810989.html?spm=a2o4m.prod.reccomendations-list-item_page-bottom.2.650966996qaSxF&lzd_rec_event_src=UN355ELAB2R3ICANTH&lzd_rec_event_dest=XI482ELAAHQYB1ANTH&strat=viewed_viewed&pa=item_page.bottom

This one has the bracket to attach to your rear view mirror and the 16GB card which are obviously very important.

Will write a review when i get it in the next few days.

    1years warranty too.
