Probably best to contact Thai Embassy in Canberra.
The Brisbane Hon. Consulate was closed earlier this year. Don't know if anyone has since been appointed.
Last I heard, the Hon. Consul in Adelaide was still living here in Thailand and doing a regular GIG on Thai Television.
An old mate of mine was the Hon Consulate in Perth for many years. He was closed down a few years ago and tells me they are "thinking" about a replacement, so save yourself a lot of aggravation and contact the Thai Embassy in the ACT.
Do try to post updated information

Hi Guys, thanks for the responses. Firstly yes I am in receipt of UK state pension and 65+ so yes I qualify for the 12 month O visa. I got the 3 month Single entry O the same way in Jan. Now my confusion. My 'O' visa was issued on 5th Jan 2015 and 'enter before 4 April 2015'. I entered on 18 Jan and Admitted until 17 April 2015 - 90 Days from the date of entry, not date of issue and the visa was then stamped USED. (I departed 16 April.)
Based on this I expected that the 12 month O visa would be the same, ie date of issue (academic) and an 'enter before' date. Then once I entered Thailand I would be 'Admitted until' 12 months from date of entry stamped in my passport. Based on this does this mean I can travel in and out of Thailand at will during this 12 month period by just showing my passport?
I hope this makes sense and welcome your comments.
Thanks.
Short answer is yes but if you want the 12 month visa its an 'O-A'.
Long answer. An 'O-A' is valid for 12 months from the date of issue so the date of issue is important as it determines the 'enter before' date. With this visa you can travel in and out as often as you want before the 'enter before' date. Every time you enter you'll be given 12 months. Even if you enter the day before the 'enter before' date you'll be given 12 months. So its possible to stay nearly two years.
If you enter just before the 'enter before' date and are admitted for 12 months your visa will expire so the multi entries cease. However, you can buy a multi re-entry permit for 3,800 baht which will allow you to continue traveling in and out until the 'admitted until' date. A re-entry permit is important because if you exit during this time without a re-entry permit any remaining stay of the 12 months will be lost. Single re-entry permits are also available for 1,000 baht per re-entry.
Example.
Visa issued 4/10/15
Enter before 3/10/16
Enter on 20/10/15
Admitted until 19/10/16
Exit and enter as often as you want until 2/10/16.
Exit and re-enter on 2/10/16 latest.
Admitted until 1/10/17
Visa expires 3/10/16
Buy a multi entry re-entry permit valid until 1/10/17
Exit and enter as often as you want until 1/10/17 at which point you need to exit and get a new visa or apply for an extension of stay.
A 12 month, multiple entry, "O" visa can be obtained by UK citizens who are in receipt of an old age pension.

Baxer how long ago was this? Im living at my fiances home and only have a letter frm the uk addressed to me there as proof would this be ok?
Has the fiancee reported your presence in her home using a TM30 form ?
No my son lives there and im waiting for his passport on a tourist visa. Whats a tm30 form and why would it matter for a simple 1 month extension?
See above !
Even a one night stay should be reported.
Why the aggressive post ?

If you arrive with a 12 month multiple entry non "O" visa you will receive a "permission to stay " of 90 days.
Every 90 days you must leave Thailand, enter another country and then return to be given another 90 day stay.
This is repeated at will whilst the visa is valid and there is no requirement for you to stay for the whole 90 days,
Leaving and returning just before the visa expires gives a further 90 days making almost 15 months stay possible from the visa.

What is this TM30?
It is a form used to report the presence of a foreigner residing a hotel , guest house, rented property or privately owned home.

Strange how Immigration Officers morph into "the most unpleasant " of people when some foreigners fails to meet requirements.......................

I know one immigration officer who refuses to process requests for "visas" or "visa renewals" .
Those living in Thailand should really make some effort to understand what is stamped in their passports and on what basis they are allowed to stay.

Anyone willing to work illegally has no sound foundation upon which any legal action can be based.
If a person is fully legal , and is in possession of a work permit and ,in the case of teachers, a teachers licence or waiver, then a case alleging money is owed as the result of a broken contract may succeed.

There is no "cure" for male pattern baldness.
All hair transplant techniques involve an incision and a scar (which may be hidden)
Transplant surgery offers no guarantees of short or long term success.
Medication has side effects, is not cheap and does not, again, guarantee a successful outcome.
Just accept that some men will lose hair and make the best of it!

Try Flexa 1500.
Available at Boots or Watson, no prescription.
Take one dose (mix with water) per day.
After about 20 days it will start to help a lot.
But you have to continue to take Flexa, otherwise the symptoms come back, of course.
Flexa 1500 might sound impressive but it is just an expensive brand of glucosamine sulfate.
There is very little or no scientific evidence that glucosamine sulfate is beneficial beyond the placebo effect ....................

For those aged 60+ entering the health insurance market can be eye wateringly expensive even for those with no medical history of note.
I would encourage the Thai government to offer reasonably priced insurance which allowed access to Thai health care facilities.
I know a number of uninsured elderly ex-pats who simply cannot afford the premiums charged by commercial health insurance providers.

Pleased the perv has been apprehended.
Now all that's needed is a conviction and substantial Thai jail sentence,

Don't forget to check that they give you the correct permission to stay date.
For info, 90 day reporting is the day you enter plus 89 days.
I believe it's the day you enter plus 90 days. That means you will report 89 days after entering.
Day of entry is Day 1 + 89 = 90!

Seems the G/F is confused !
It is a TM7 which is required.

NB
Visas are not extended .
You will be applying for an extension of stay based on retirement which is not a visa ................

Re load the web site and then , carefully, complete the booking .

Singaporeans can obtain a 90 day visa exempt entry .......... As can Malaysians!
Are you sure?
I thought only diplomatic/official passport holders get 90 days. Ordinary passport holders only get 30 days unless somethings recently changed.
Check in the link I provided.
Maybe I misread the information, if so apologies are offered !

In thai eyes malaysian passport same as singaporean one....all part of ASEAN....if she arrives by air, one month free visa is chopped at airport.
If overland, then its two weeks.
Thanks. She's already visited a few times and has had no trouble getting a visa exemption stamp, it's just the high frequency of visits I'm slightly concerned about.
If she is questioned about frequency she will have to explain. Best she always has sufficient cash + a return ticket.
What are the mysterious reasons which prevent you travelling ?
