  1. Yes thought about that, but would mean fixed dates . I can do it though, a paper at check in Emirates will avoid the hassle of explaining. I’ve been an emirates member for years , traveling often, and it’s always the same old rigmarole,
  2. Ive had a good look , but can see only forums, publicity and FB.
  3. Good lord, are these actually allowed , even in other countries, or only Thailand ?
  4. Hi, does the Visa Exempt stamp actually state the date/ 45 days ? I arrive on the 2/03 and after around 40 days will be going to Bali. It will save me buying a throw away ticket which my airline ( emirates at Nice France) always ask me for. ( or what proof can I show them that it’s 45 and not 30 days ,)

  6. Bit of a difference between bona fide Chinese tourists and crooks isn’t there ??
  7. If you’re talking about western Expats , why ? If not western expats, then who do you mean ?
  8. Surely they know that everyone is laughing about such statements ? I know they don’t care, but why bother ?
  9. No, the pick up from your address is done by mini bus ( Bells) then you transfer at Pattaya bus station to their very comfortable coach. Very good value. The one from Jomtien is very good too for the price .
  10. Obviously you have no idea why he’s called Big Joke, which has nothing to do with the English meaning. Look it up.
  11. If it happened in a crowded bar, I suppose there are many witnesses. I doubt Thai chief Surachate would get involved over a few slaps.
  12. You insure your car don’t you ? And your house ? Your health is the same .
  13. In my opinion, everyone should have a good travel insurance. I’ve always had one , peace of mind. No one is accident proof, health problems happen everywhere, also when you’re in Thailand,! At home, in your own country, you most probably are helped , in Thailand , ( anywhere abroad) you are not helped. If you don’t have the couple of thousand, or maybe a few hundred thousand $£€ to pay, that’s your problem, or maybe your families ? Why take the risk for the price of a good meal out ?
  14. That’s the problem in Thailand , the grandparents illiterate, parents no education, no idea how to bring up children. Too many drugs easily bought, too easy to fall into a mess., I saw it on my first visit to Thailand 1984,,nothing has changed.. There are jobs , I have many friends who work in restaurants, hotels, shops, offices etc I suppose they’ve been lucky to have a caring family . The education system here is terrible, especially if you need extra help.
  15. Too many kids are left to their own devices. I see them in their shorts just out of school buying a beer and smoking. I see young girls hanging around with guys , ending up pregnant at 15 or 16. I know this happens all over the world, but we’re talking about Thailand, where fathers come and go, mothers disappear to work abroad or worse, kids dumped with grandparents , kids lacking in education, and then we wonder why the guys are a bunch of lazy wasters, and the girls turn into bar girls .
  16. I don’t think the airline industry bosses are going to be happy about being dictated to by a third world country that is run by idiots.
  17. Hi, if , for example the UK asked for Covid test for entry into UK on your return from Thailand, then you must have Covid covered insurance. I don’t think UK do. Their explaining of this is, IF you caught Covid in Thailand , you would miss your flight/ or be hospitalized obliging you to stay longer in Thailand and costing you more money. Wow, I don’t think they have a brain between them !!! It will probably be printed properly in the next few days.
  18. None of you have understood the article correctly !! Pattaya is the No 2 dirtiest beach in the world. So any ideas which is no 1 dirtiest please ?
  19. What I don’t understand is that China has opened its borders ? Surely they also have a lot to loose if all those 1.4 billion + inhabitants risk getting sick ? Or is it a way of “ natural” extermination?
  20. A British doctor in China (on tv a few days ago) said that there were enormous numbers of Covid infections and that doctors and hospitals were overflowing . Now if this happens again, in Thailand or the other third world countries, there’s a lot of misery to come. Haven’t we learnt from the past 3 years ? Do we really need another serious Covid epidemic? And is it really so bad to insist on vaccinations ( the new ones ) and testing for travelers ? ( obviously not for people who cannot for medical reasons). Doesn’t bother me one bit.
  21. I could understand the governments fondness of Chinese visitors, but the ones you see all over Thailand are rude, noisy, filthy habits and pushy ! These are cheap tours that stink out Thai towns with tour buses , and crowd the airports , pavements and malls, even the 7/11s. They are not the ones that go to my local designer shops and spend 4000€ on a handbag. They do not get carried round in stinking buses ( which are not allowed in urban areas anyway) and in general behave . Groups are often refused in nice restaurants , I always remember a table of 6 Chinese in a good restaurant where the “ guide” asked the proprietor for a tip for bringing them there. They were quickly shown the door. I for one will keep out of their way if they return to a mass tourist invasion of Thailand or elsewhere.
