I’m not against legalizing the stuff, but in a controlled / regulated way. It’s been done in some countries and you don’t see the mess it makes like in Thailand. People running riot for the business and shops opening absolutely everywhere, kids managing to buy it etc etc. Plus, the Thai potheads can’t handle it. I see big problems on the horizon.

Thé OP says on or near Beach road, so how about the newer condos on 2nd Rd just after / near Central ? Those are on the Baht route, near Central, Baht bus to front of Terminal 21, and he can go through one of the Soi’s or even Central to Beach road. That would be my choice. I visited the Urban Realty office near Hotel Mercury and behind The Avenue Mall. They’ve built quite a few condos , I Ve lived in one, Nice girls who run the office in Jomtien tho. The one I visited behind the Avenue Mall was great and they’ve built others. Worth taking a look as it ticks all the boxes. Not sure of rent price.

Why not ask advice from a well known agency ? Might be quicker for you if urgent.

There is definitely no third key on a Hotel security safe, maybe in a room safe, I wouldn’t know. Never used one. Have you seen what the rooms safes are like ? they are toy safety boxes.

Took a very long time to see this ! Chinese rubbish has flooded the Thai shops for many years now. Cheap, but very bad quality, so not cheap in the long run as they end up in the bin .

Good idea. But reserving online hotel or airline I’m always asked for my CVV number, so someone there does have the number?? Maybe I’m not understanding? I had a problem last year . I have a platinum card I only use for hotel bookings / airlines . One day my bank manager called me and said he’d blocked my card as it had been used in New York. So how did the scammer get my CVV? For me it had to be the airline or a Thai hotel. Any advice ??

Fair enough, but I wouldn’t leave a large amount of money, or my credit cards, or my passport in a hotel safe. You go out for the day, you wouldn’t notice a theft until late. I sleep much better knowing my belongings are safe ! I had my passport stolen once ( not from a safe) and the trouble I had as I was on a very long trip and nowhere near an embassy. Spoilt my holiday.

Yes, as in a bank safe, it’s a security covered room, not at reception. There are only 2 keys, one is yours one is the Hotels. You need the two keys to open the safe, which is a proper safe. There are also cameras on the ceilings. The person on safe duty can’t open your safe unless you are present. Also , to have access you sign your name which is checked with your room number.

Yes, Emirates is often a 777 from Dubai on. Although Swiss air has single seats in 777/300 , which I had , wonderful. Great as the Zurich Bangkok flight is direct so you really get the full meals , great drinks , rest on nearly flat beds , etc. Have definitely abandoned Emirates unless no other choice.

Your second flight is not necessarily 90 mins. Lounges are also great when you are departing a country , especially if you arrive early for your flight. Emirates has many desks open long before in most country’s . Just travelled With Swiss Air business Bangkok to Nice via Zurich. The layover was 3 hrs, so I got a nice meal and drinks. When an airline offers you an upgrade, the price depends of how close your flight date is, or vice versa. Also I like the free pick up to your home in a nice car, ( depending on distance , less hassle. Then also, you get better food and drinks with business, Altho I must say Emirates is not as good as it was. Hence my flight with Swiss Air.

Definitely reception. I stay in Erawan area and always use the reception safe. It’s in a sealed off buro in a proper safe room. Personally, I’d never stay in a hotel that doesn’t have one. Where I live 5/6 months a year I rent one.

Yes, they do put the child in care or make them be psychologically evaluated. Depending on age and what they have done, adolescents often end up in special services., I know they do this in Europe and the UK, not sure about the rest of the world. The police/courts also take into account of the parents lack of care, most are from the poorer of society with their own problems. Some children in UK have been in retention for years, especially In cases of extreme violence. The authorities would have a field day in Thailand, where child cruelty, murders and grave assault, teachers hitting kids, is a daily occurrence.

It wouldn’t take much to put up fences around schools, and one teacher seeing over departures. It should be law that stipulés the names of the people allowed to pick up. Then , it’s down to education, first , I see many kids walking home or on the public bus from school. I have seeing the older boys smoking or with a can of beer ! Maybe this isn’t so in the small villages. Parents should pick up or have designated family/ friends on the list who can. Education terribly lacking in children, parents and Thai males, who famously are known for their bad behavior and violence. The children who grow up in Thailand will one day be like their parents.,

I understood that if you’ve had chicken pox when you are young, the virus stays in you and can come back later in life. Very painful, and ugly rash. Find out if you’ve had chicken Pox first.
