Why is the world missing the opportunity to grind it's foot into the throat of China's aggressive expansionist policy while they are vulnerable?
Because to do so would shine the spotlight on China’s biological weapons program...and more specifically the Wuhan BSL4 lab. The other major world powers do not want to make it an issue…because they are doing essentially the same thing.

I can't wait until - say - first of May

While you're waiting for 1 May, plug...BSL-4 Wuhan...into your favorite search engine and do some...light...reading. Just for the hell of it.

According to wiki:
"As of 2015...The Thai military has more than 1,700 flag officers (generals and admirals), roughly one general for every 212 troops, a bloated number for a military of its size."
source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Thai_Armed_Forces#Personnel
Okay, how many is....more than? My point is that they've always refused to answer this question.

Since the actual number of general officers has always been a closely guarded secret...the public has no way of knowing how many there are. So how do we count half of an unknown number?

Again, why jump to the "probe" so fast.
Form a committee first.
Absolutely correct. 'Mulling' should always precede 'probing'.

Chiang Mai hotels are obviously not following the TAT checklist. When hotel occupancy is down you don't offer discounts...you make up the loss by raising prices accordingly. Everyone knows that...these guys need to stop whining and get with the program.

Thailand to implement measures to discourage COVID-19 “Super Spreader”
The government’s “Response to Problems” checklist remains absurdly predictable and consistently ineffective.
# 1 Ignore the problem
# 2 Deny the problem
# 3 Lie about the problem
# 5 Blame someone else for the problem
# 4 Make threats about the problem
When none of this works and the problem persists….return to step #1 and repeat as often as necessary.

Unfortunately....stricter penalties will just allow the police to demand larger bribes.

True enough...but remember he does have a squad of army conscript slaves to dress him every day. He probably forgot how to put on his own shoes years ago.

True....but it's not going to happen any time soon. It's quite obvious the rank and file 'populace' doesn't feel strongly enough about military oppression to really 'do' anything. They've never known political freedom and it's never been a part of Thai society. Now, if the court dissolved Facebook...it would be completely different...we'd be looking at a violent, full scale insurrection. The Thai people know what's important.

Impossible. Genuine, well-mannered, big-spending, Thailand-loving Chinese tourists would never do something like this. These were probably farangs...pretending to be Chinese.
