  1. Aublumberg, just curious ,did you get a note reminder that requires you to report to immigration in a year? FYI, Ones that got the 5 years stamp from BKk BOi had a note in our passport that reminded us to do so to avoid the stiff fine .
  2. Hi, thanks for everyone who replied on this thread. I was able to obtain my Thai id at the address ( thanks gamblooer) with required documents (thanks Nigelforbes ) mentioned above . I appreciate all your help in this chiang mai forum . now that I added my Thai id, will see in next interest payment if they still withhold tax. question: once that account passes the 20,000 baht interest , will I expect the bank to start the 15% withhold ?
  3. I am getting confused : the intend of getting the tax id was to eliminate the withhold of the tax for the interest from the bank thus not needing to file the annual form to get the tax withholding , Is that correct ?
  4. Thanks , I am 15 minutes away from there, could you tell me what I need to bring with me besides my passport. Any more information, Much appreciate before I go in there.
  5. Gambloor, Where and how did you obtain your tax id in chiang mai? Thanks for your info.
  6. All, can anyone help me where and how to get the tax id in chiang mai? i know I can avoid tax with bodkin with the tax Is but I am asking for information how I can obtain one .thanks
  7. I was informed by my bank that if I have a Thai tax id, they will not withhold taxes when they issue my interest. i was not able to search for this information in asean website . I would appreciate any information how I can obtain and where in chiang mai. Thanks
  8. Yeah in our 1040 , the line #9 where it states total income which lists all your drawdowns , interest/dividend , ss, capital gains , etc. need to show 2 years worth
  9. Everything went smoothly. It was dated per Ryan comment above. thanks for everyone replies before , good luck to you all
  10. Thanks for your reply, so if you took your time to bring the notification letter to immigration to get your stamp. , you are still limited to Oct 13th, 2032, not 10 years starting on the date you get stamped at immigration
  11. Aublumberg, Upon double checking my notification letter however it is valid for 10 years … can you please tell me on your second page of your notification letter, is your 10years visa starting on the day of approval and ends of your notification letter too?
  12. For me, the 10 years visa started on the day notification letter was approved . I received my letter Oct 4th. i have 2 months to get the visa stamped , Dec 3rd, if not , I start the process again . And my 10 years visa expired Oct 3rd, 2032 per the letter . . Of course this might change when I really get my passport stamped next week in Bangkok boi. A note to my self is to get the 5th year renewal requirements since we have been approved for 10 years and paid 50k upfront . Hate surprises …
  13. Ryan, I am thinking above will be updated upon your return from Philippines . (entry date plus a year ) thus we will never ever to go into immigration office until 5 years later for renewal . I think your new entry stamp will state your stay permit will till October 7, 2027 If someone can confirm.
  14. I did forget to ask whether or not the annual visit to Immigration for reporting can be negated by exiting the country just prior to year end and then returning just after the end of the first year and so on...... /—-//-//—//—— i did ask, yes it is negated if you exit the country but I forgot to ask if i can use the current 90 days online for yearly visit if we do not exit the country. never ending questions
  15. Rya, Congrats i scheduled my appointment my appointment,Going for a one day trip since i live up north. Did you get your visa start date when you get the stamp?
  16. Thanks for the forms. Will make appointment after i uploaded my updated insurance. Boi accidentally gave me the notification letter which they later retracted (i did downloaded it before they removed it) I just think it is interesting that my 10 years visa started on my preapproval email and not when they issue the visa stamp nor when i submit my insurance. So clock is ticking i guess .
  17. Do i need to call in to set up the appointment since i still cannot do it online? i also noticed the notification letter states the 10 years visa has started from the date of approval and also is their 2 months effective date to get the visa
  18. I’ve also gotten this pop up but have not received any emails from BOI.
  19. You could use e-visa platform: Once the applicants obtain a qualification endorsement letter from Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), the applicant can apply for the Long -Term Resident Visa (LTR) through our e-visa platform. https://thaievisa.go.th/ltr-visa
  20. ThailandRyan or anyone who is granted approval : Have a gotten any info what we need to bring to immigration to the annual check up ? i am thinking they would want to see our 1) insurance certificate for another year or $100k in bank for the insurance 2) ? 3) i assume that in the 5th year , we should need to show income again, BOI or immigration ? I am trying to think all that is needed so that our initial 50k baht fee is able to see all 10 years worth . it would be nice to have this info before coughing up the fee . Any feedback would be appreciated . Thanks
  21. 50,000 processing fee question. i understand ltr 10 years is really 5 years renewable stamp . So when we renew , we assume we do not have to pay . However if it is not renewed , we lose it, 5 years worth? today with visa and multiple entry permit : 1900+3200=5100 baht /yr which is more than the fee of 50k, not bad if we get the whole 10 years term . is this correct ?
  22. Perhaps to get a residential certificate ; to open bank accounts , etc
  23. Ok , i still need to do 90 days but without tm6 but i do not need to do tm30 (section 38). when i return from overseas to thailand thanks
