Yes , i made my chiang mai usa appointment (eom nov) in preparation of my manila interview (jan3,). I replied to manila to inform that they wrote jan 2 , 2022.instead of 2023. i am going to bring following to certify: passport naturalization paper birth certificate any thoughts of other documents , i was thinking of divorce papers but might be overkill.

I really do not understand what the intention is for this proposal: they can propose realistic requirements to encourage sale that we will accept /buy or they can discourage and we will not bite so what exactly are they trying to do? If unsure, why even propose ? TIT

Taxout, thanks for your reply. i applied 3 months before 62 start, so no worries i will get it all , the makeup paynents due to processing delays. Curious question, could i apply 13 months earlier for a 63 start date since that benefit is higher 555

Hi Skeptic, if you do not get your benefit in your target age, I wonder if they prorated it back at your target date of when it starts since every delay increases our benefit ?

hi Pib, Looking at the checklist ( mail in option) to get the documents certified it seems that consulate do not need that Manila fbu email . I Just fill in the check list. to confirm : I provide original passport , a photocopy of the passport page with details / pic original naturalization certificate , a copy of this certificate Then send it to Chiang mai consulate with the 100 baht bank draft with the checklist Their Remarks: If requesting document is U.S. passport; it must be SIGNED by a bearer of passport. does this mean i need to sign the photo copy of my passport page ? thanks

DineshR, Thanks for the update. Good luck in the states . Per ssa online status , Baltimore has my app and will take 2-4 weeks to process so I will wait end of this month, November to call the 800-772-1213 if needed . I did make a notary appointment , chiang mai usa consulate since their earliest appointment is at the end of the month to obtain certified copies needed for Manila fbu. I guess I can also use their mail in service too if Manila does not contact me by then.

DineshR, keep us updated , I just submit mine online yesterday . might be longer since I am a naturalized and will have to provide SSA foreign birthcert and naturalized citizenship paper as followup.

Order with cash and when they arrive , use the qr scan method. separate topic from the LTR forum, i think the only reason for WP permit for us pensioners is to avoid the horror stories of being deported eg a story i heard that a foreigner retiree helped his wife selling chicken who happened to help her mom who was sick on that day . yes , i did not apply for the WP too

Charlieh, Yes, i have used theQR code payment method but i thought food panda use only debit card /cash/pay pal when ordering? do you mean to pay cash when ordering food panda and then tell the food panda driver that you wish to pay with qr code when he delivers ? appreciate clarification, i cannot see on k+ app for these type of online purchases

For those debit cardless , can you use the app for online purchase , from food panda, grab , lazada, others ? i am banking at kasikorn and have the app but always thought i needed the debit card for above. Any insights would be much appreciated. Thanks

Aublumberg, just curious ,did you get a note reminder that requires you to report to immigration in a year? FYI, Ones that got the 5 years stamp from BKk BOi had a note in our passport that reminded us to do so to avoid the stiff fine .

I appreciate all your help in this chiang mai forum . now that I added my Thai id, will see in next interest payment if they still withhold tax. question: once that account passes the 20,000 baht interest , will I expect the bank to start the 15% withhold ?

I am getting confused : the intend of getting the tax id was to eliminate the withhold of the tax for the interest from the bank thus not needing to file the annual form to get the tax withholding , Is that correct ?

I was informed by my bank that if I have a Thai tax id, they will not withhold taxes when they issue my interest. i was not able to search for this information in asean website . I would appreciate any information how I can obtain and where in chiang mai. Thanks

Yeah in our 1040 , the line #9 where it states total income which lists all your drawdowns , interest/dividend , ss, capital gains , etc. need to show 2 years worth

Thanks for your reply, so if you took your time to bring the notification letter to immigration to get your stamp. , you are still limited to Oct 13th, 2032, not 10 years starting on the date you get stamped at immigration

Aublumberg, Upon double checking my notification letter however it is valid for 10 years … can you please tell me on your second page of your notification letter, is your 10years visa starting on the day of approval and ends of your notification letter too?
