You're funny. Anyone who doesn't share your viewpoint is the enemy, right? Half the population of your fellow Americans are your enemy? That's the definition of un American. It doesn't matter which "side" you're on. It was called the UNITED states for a reason. Why don't you go back where you can get up every day and lick his and Musk's bυtt ϲrɑϲk morning noon and night? Yummy! You realize you're in Thailand where nobody gives a FIying ƒv(ϲk what you think, right? Nobody. Talk to the hand. dogshit.m4v

Thai Baht Set to Weaken as US Tariff Tensions Escalate
Jonathan Swift replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Keep in mind that this is the same seesaw that has always existed. If the baht weakens then the strong foreign currency's buying power will bring more dollars and other currency into Thailand, people will be more motivated to come here and spend. I will certainly be more inclined to bring more money in from the US. The exchange rate has been unusually low in favor of the baht for some time, between 33 and 34 baht to the dollar. It has not long ago been as high as 38 baht to the dollar. I will admit to not knowing enough about the actual Thai economy to understand the real impact of this on Thailand as a whole. I suspect, just as in my case, it doesn't affect the general population in any real sense. Cheers everyone, enjoy your day. -
Thai Baht Set to Weaken as US Tariff Tensions Escalate

First of all most of the Trump white house are functionally illiterate, so writing to them? Seriously? Secondly, the US doesn't care one whit what happens to Thailand, in Trump's eyes it's just another one of his <deleted>hόIe countries (his words, not mine). Thailand has nothing to offer Trump in return for favors. It's going to be quid pro quo for the next four years. Just forget about the US, as I have.- 80 replies

Thai PM Considers Easing Alcohol Sales Rules to Boost Tourism

Is that the rule then? I have a retirement visa and live here 7 - 8 months, sometimes more sometimes less, have an apartment with a lease, go back to the US May - Sept, avoiding the rainy season and minding the house I still own, but I'm not an "expat"? So I take it you rewrote the entire Webster dictionary? Can I get a signed copy? You're silly. Nobody cares. I don't even use the word, nor does anyone I know. Even the "real" expats. -

The US had the same silly "blue laws", now extinct for the most part. Yet, ironically, when legislature was on the table to allow sales on Sundays, liquor stores opposed it, they wanted to be able to have a day off without the competition stealing their business. -
Phuket Raid Captures Four Foreign Hackers Behind 560M Baht Scam

Too light. Keep them in Thai jail for a year or so before deporting them. No bail. Flight risk, duh. -
Well, looking into this, it's more than a few Israelis, and it's been going on long enough to be of serious concern. You're doing whataboutism, which is a 5 year old's finger pointing deflection from the issue at hand. Nyeah Nyeah Johnny did this, Susie did that. Your favorite ethnic groups get plenty of airtime of their own, I'm sure you're a great help with that. The money issues here are obvious. Thailand needs and wants tourist dollars, and that's why they are cautious about enforcement.

When was the last time you were in Pai? Pai is not Phuket, such behavior is not the norm there and people neither expect nor deserve it. A dozen badly behaving individuals in a tiny place like Pai is far more damaging that in a huge place like Phuket because they are not prepared to have their community uprooted like that. Phuket, Pattaya, other places have been dealing with this for years, they're more or less used to it. This isn't "politics". It's more bad behavior by tourists because "be careful what you ask for". Whatever politics may be emigrating here exists only in the minds of those carrying it in their heads and projecting it onto Thailand, as you seem to be doing. The last Time I was in Pai I was rather stunned to find this to be the problem that it is. It's much worse than any other tourist behavior problem that I have seen here in 11 years.

I know what you're saying, but if you don't mind me correcting you, as you said, Thai people use any graphic they happen to like regardless of its actual meaning to anyone else. So I wouldn't say they have an interest in "Nazism", because that is the actual political belief system, and obviously they're not interested in that or any other element of politics or world affairs. They like the decor. I've seen this myself, piles of confederate flags, NAZI memorabilia at flea markets. Remember, the swastika has been around and been used benignly across Eurasia for thousands of years. Thai people have an innocent naivete regarding such things.

You're right. It's the Israelis trying to deflect blame by playing the "anti-semite" victim card. I've actually read some threads where I saw them do it. I lectured the person on how he was shaming his own people and undermining his own cause by invoking that. The "race card" Isn't gonna work. This isn't Israel, and it isn't the US. They don't play that game here. If the Israelis don't clean house within their community someone will clear them out of the house. It's one thing for the farang to complain. It's quite another when innocent hard working Thai people are being victimized. From my experience there is almost no police presence on the streets there. I imagine that is about to change. If Thailand wants these tourist dollars then they will have to babysit and provide daycare (jail) to the miscreants. I've read so many of these stories, and I know one of the restaurant owners. It's quite sad.
