It wasn't me.
We run a small business, and years ago, the mother (AAA) of the child (BBB) who recently got pregnant- used to work for us. She was a nice kid who played with our child. She quit after a few yrs but 2 yrs ago came back to ask me for a loan to pay BBB's school fees at the EP program of a govt school. I said to her she can work it off by coming back part time in the evenings and doing cleaning. She accepted the offer and I remember saying to her that she should make BBB come here and do her homework. It never really happened. She just let the girl stay at home alone. She is a single mum. They divorced a long time ago. Father is an alcoholic with no contact.
To describe AAA:
- Nice person but simple with low IQ
- Earlier this year she asked me for more money. She hadnt paid her moped finance. 3 months behind. She stupidly did finance on a 55k moped and total loan was 133k or something like that.
- We were going away for a holiday and I offered her fresh fruit and vege from our fridge. No thanks she said. 'We only eat meals from 7 11
- Recently AAA decided to come work full time with us again. The deal was I would clear the loan 25k to zero. Pay her 20k a month plus OT. She quit after 3 weeks and now back to doing low paid market job and coming back working for us part time paying off the debt. She is financially irresponsible and stupid. We have a very happy work environment with 6 staff. Its all a good laugh and vibe and busy business. Unsure why she quit.
- Several months ago AAA told us that her daughter was screaming and fighting with her at the village room where they stay. The landlord said no more noise or they are both out.
BBB:
- Obviously had no father
- Hopeless mother who is not strong with discipline
- Overweight with her ultra processed food diet
- After the screaming incident above AAA asked my wife and I to talk to her. I told her that if she is a good girl and studies hard I would pay for her school fees for free and send her to university as well. I said no boyfriends though until she is older. We later found out that she was already having sex with the 27 yr old thai guy (boyfriend) at the time of that meeting.
My wife and I found out she was pregnant via one of our staff members whose friend knows the 27 yr old. I sent some assertive messages to AAA stating my disapproval and that its illegal and the guy should go to prison. AAA doesnt talk to me now when she comes back to work part time.
My wife said stay out of it and dont report anything to the police. The guy or his family could come after me. The wife said to me that I should not intervene in anyone else's problems
In a western country I would not hesitate to go to the police and report this. But here I think its too dangerous. Its weak of me I know but I have to think about my safety and my family's well being.
The abortion was done at the big local govt hospital. The dr's said she is too young to keep it.
I feel that, in the future, this girl might end up in soi 6 pattaya one day whilst AAA looks after the next baby.
Another depressing day in Thailand. The 27 yr old pedo will get away with it.
You are to be admired, it's a sad story. At least you tried, and more people should do so before they write off a troubled individual. I've had similar experiences where I've tried but found the person to be incorrigible, including my brother and his son, who both died in succession of overdoses at about the same age. I've also had some startling successes that I never knew about until they told me years later how I'd helped. My philosophy was that sometimes all a person needs is a bit of a push in the right direction to make a difference if they're teetering at a precipice. Are you sure there isn't a process that would protect your identity?

How about this: I admire his compassion, values, and unselfishness, of which you apparently have none. You don't have to be like him, but the moral vacuum behind your crude comment is particularly reprehensible.

Funny how most of us don't feel compelled to post stories of our "conquests", not since we outgrew that by age 21. The stories all sound the same when people do. So why do you bother? Each and every one of us can go out at any time and have our own adventures, yours is nothing special, except maybe to you. Why don't you write home and tell your parents about it? Maybe THEY will be impressed.

Whenever I have had a problem with my Capital One card, charge back is one of the first options they mention. They also have been very good at notifying me of any suspicious activity on my account.
Plus their foreign currency exchange rate is excellent and no fee involved.
It works very well in Asia, since they are unlikely to respond at all you will win by default.

I used AirAsia Move and it offered me a seat on airline that I knew from that airline was no longer available... well, I was booking for 4 people in 2 separate bookings, first booking went through, but second one - that seats were gone. Air Asia Move wasn't aware, and tried to make a booking anyway. I did put in details for billing but within seconds of that I received an email that "Booking failed. You were not charged". I thought nothing of it and booked another flight, which was successful.
But just after reading this, I went to my credit card statement and realised that Air Asia charged me for both flights, and there was no refund of the first flight - basically that "you were not charged" was not a factual statement, so I could say Air Asia robbed me for 7000 baht or so.
Hence, thank you for this. Question is - now what. I've already paid the bill. Unsure bank would be interested...
EDIT: this is how their email looked like:
If you used a credit card your card should be willing to claw back your money under the circumstances. Call them. It's usually pretty easy. The credit card bank contacts the airline to see if they have a defense. They will use the same customer service number that doesn't work. If the bank hears nothing back you win by default

That's why I book tickets only via reputable aggregator websites like Agoda. Also, to avoid the annoying $5 credit card fee charged by most Asian airlines.
Use one of those websites yes, also use a credit card which will charge back payments in cases of fraud. All that said, I had AirAsia refuse a refund, priceline gave me a runaround along with false information, in which case I had my bank claw back the money, on top of which I sued priceline for my time and trouble - their corporate office is near my American address in Connecticut. I got $1,000.00 out of priceline

And Thailand is supporting this illegal military regime that has invaded it's waters, stolen boats and kidnapped its own people.
Shame on you Thailand.
I never heard that they are supporting this regime. It's much more complicated than appears on the surface. My research shows that the regimes are intertwined, that each depends on the other for necessary imports/exports. Thailand is extremely dependent on Myanmar for a wide range of needs. That's certainly not the same as propping up a regime for political reasons. This reminds me of how the Chinese are harassing the Filipinos, except the Chines never fired on anyone, to their credit. https://fulcrum.sg/neighbour-to-civil-war-thailands-relations-with-myanmar-in-2024/

A death in UAE sparks a terror alert in Thailand - - a bit of of stretch, wouldn't you think?
No, neither I nor the Thai populace would think so. Better a "stretch" and a warning than to have it happen. You're not privy to the intelligence are you? This comes from Israeli intelligence warning other countries. Neither are you Jewish or an Israeli. Personally I'm happy to have increased vigilance. Ever hear the saying "better safe than sorry"?

When Jack In The Box in the US had an E Coli outbreak the entire country knew in a matter of days. This may have saved lives. I have never swallowed glass while eating and I would never want to. This almost makes it seem like "eat out at your own risk?
False equivalency. The outbreak of a food borne illness is a far cry from one incident of glass in spaghetti. Right out of the gate you have a number of sick people. An E.Coli outbreak can spread exponentially because of the wide distribution of food products in a short period of time. In this case the manufacturer has to be named in order to find and recall all items which could be hundreds or thousands. Hope this clears this up for you.

well, given the details of the story. There are only 2 major pizza chains that are in many malls...
I agree with you about the defamation though. This law needs to be changed when consumer safety is an issue.
How does broken glass get into spaghetti without someone knowing it? This seems almost an impossibility.
When glass breaks the tiny shards can be next to invisible and can be missed. Something might have broken in a sink for example. There are in fact many possible scenarios.

What is the name of this pizza restaurant so people can avoid them like a plague. Stupid reporting without even letting us know.
Accidents can happen anywhere. There's no need to destroy a business because of one random incident for which they accepted responsibility. If they had a history of health code violations, injuries, vermin infestations, food poisoning, etc., that would be different.

You're not Thai, you don't speak Thai, you don't read thai, you weren't raised in thailand, so with that comment, continue your diatribe against Thailand laws.
Last time I checked it wasn't illegal to have an opinion in Thailand. A lot of people who have been here a long time and do in fact speak Thai do actually agree with the commenter, as do I.

"the rental wife industry". Industry, eh? So girls are now a product of industry. Factories cranking em out, executive offices, stockholders, and board meetings. So get me an industrial strength Thai girl.

Back then they were “actually” looking for a husband so to get a better life.
I “rented” many times and was happy with it. Not really into changing every day…
Maybe now this is the “modern” version of it. It always has been a “way out” for many struggling women.
Problem is that now they will spend “a whole hell lot of time” on their “phones”…🤣😂😅
Times sure have "changed". "People" didn't "use quotes" "arbitrarily and randomly" back "then".

Where do you get your condescending clueless attitude? There's nothing desperate or questionable in any way about being practical and filling a need quickly and expeditiously with no baggage and no real commitments beyond what is required.

I've ridden motorcycles for decades. The same principles apply no matter where you are. Always be ready for accidents waiting to happen. Be aware of the space around you at all times and use your mirrors. Watch traffic and watch every intersection, watch any circumstance where someone can come out of nowhere. Keep your speed reasonable. For rentals test everything, brakes, signals, etc before you drive off. I've never had an accident that wasn't someone else's fault and both were minor. Obviously there a lot of people who should not get on motorbikes, but they do anyway. Hope this poor guy recovers.

'Stimulating' conversation with a Bar Girl.

Stimulating conversation with a bar girl? Are they ever NOT "stimulating"? Is that not why we go? I like a girl who talks with her hands.
