  1. My gf gave me 2000 Baht the other day and sent me off to have a few beers for a couple of days.

The money is fast running out though....what should I do?

Mine use to do the same, only I have found later that she was making sure I'll be out

of sight when she was cavorting with the neighbor...

  2. Tax collection in Thailand....

Thailand has a population of around 70 million. According to the National Statistics Office, the 20-and-over workforce comprises about 38 million people. But the Revenue Department only has approximately

10 million people registered to pay income tax. Of these, around 6.87 million do not have to pay because their annual income is less than 150,000 baht per year. So that leaves a little...

little more than three million people actually paying income tax. Some of us do not pay as high a percentage of our income as others, but at least we pay. If you're one of the three million who give 5%...

5% to 35% of your monthly pay cheque for the greater glory of our beloved Kingdom of Thailand, please stand up for your rights and demand equality! There are many problems with Thai democracy. For starters,...

For starters, when the system is not administered equally, how can we expect equality? How can our democracy be healthy? The Revenue Department announced plans to collect 1.7 trillion baht in income tax...

The Revenue Department announced plans to collect 1.7 trillion baht in income tax between October, 2012, and September, 2013 and that's from only a little more than three million people _ 8% of the workforce... 8% of the workforce and 4% of the total population.

  3. It could be understandable why a Thai doctor load you with 5-6 kind of medicine, but what I don't

understand and accept is that you're completely oblivious to the fact that he has prescribed you

said medicine, you discover that fact when you go to pay the bill and find out you also have

shit load of medicine to pick and pay for which the doc didn't tell you any thing about it..

and mind you, those meds from the hospital, they're about 3 time the price you'd pay in any

    street front pharmacy....

  4. Gone are the days that you could have flown with AA to almost anywhere for peanuts,

I started flying with them back when a retune flight Bkk-Melb use to cost like $400-500

including food, seats and 20 Kg luggage that were built in, now days, the honeymoon is

over and they try to get every bit of money they can get from you with add-ons that used

to be included in the fare,

the bottom line is, 2 months a go I booked a return flight with AA Bkk-Melb for the Jan

for b.21,000 including food, seats and 30Kg luggage, while the other airlines charging

    b. 35-38,000 fro the same flight, and all you have to do is monitor their website for the

best deals and book in advance, AA is not an airline for book today fly tomorrow,

  5. I believe you are entitled to the minimum government compulsory insurance for injuries which is 15,000 or 30,000 Baht, can't remember. It all depends how much you push the police to bring the case to a conclusion, assuming you can identify the motorcyclist.

It's actually up to b.50,000 of the Po Lo Bo compulsory insurance, and if you can get his m/cycle

license number, report to the police, you can sue him in court for any other health related expenses

    incurred following the accident...

  6. Life in Thailand is cheap, grieving families not wanting to create 'scene' bury their dead

and continue with life, no uproar, no graveness, no demand for investigation, and until

this situation will change where someone will have to be ultimately liable for the carnage

and lack of safety measures put in place to insure the safety of the traveling public, it will

continue to be like that.... life in Thailand is cheap...

  7. Rule of thumb when buying precious stones from unknown sources, no bargains out there, if it's

too good to be true, it's probably is, and lastly, don't buy diamonds or gem stones if you are not

sure what you're buying, stick to what you know, there are lots of charlatans out there that will

be only too happy to separate you from your money..
