  1. A Thai man was arrested after a violent altercation over an inheritance dispute resulted in one death and one injury. The incident occurred yesterday, August 5, near a temple in Tha Tako, Nakhon Sawan province. Police, led by Phitson Phasuk, arrived at the scene to find a tragic aftermath. A 68 year old man named Nikom lay dead beside his house, with a knife lodged in his chest. His wife, 60 year old Khemthip, was found injured with stab wounds on both her arms. Rescue personnel promptly transported her to the hospital for treatment. The assailant, 53 year old Narongsak, was apprehended at the crime scene. Initial reports indicate that Narongsak suffers from a psychiatric condition. He was taken to the police station for further questioning. The body of Nikom was examined by a medical examiner and later sent to Sawanpracharak Hospital for a detailed autopsy. Investigations revealed that the dispute began when Narongsak and his sister, Khemthip, engaged in a heated argument. Narongsak, who harboured fears about being deprived of his share of the family inheritance, often quarrelled with his sister over this issue. On this fateful day, the argument escalated, leading Narongsak to attack Khemthip with a knife, causing her injuries. Hearing her cries for help, her husband Nikom rushed to her aid. However, Narongsak turned the knife on him, stabbing him in the chest, and causing him to collapse. Narongsak then retrieved a baton and brutally struck Nikom multiple times, resulting in his death. Narongsak was detained for questioning to determine the exact motivations behind his violent actions. Police continue their investigation to gather more details about the incident, reported KhaoSod. 3. A heated road rage encounter occurred at a traffic junction in San Sai district, Chiang Mai, where a man wielding a knife confronted another driver after a horn was honked at him. The incident, which took place at 11.25pm on Saturday, August 3, sparked widespread attention after being shared on social media. Beat, the 26 year old driver and owner of the viral clip, recounted the events leading up to the confrontation. He was returning home from a friend’s garage, driving along the Chiang Mai-Doi Saket route. As he approached the second traffic light at the Sam Yak San Sai market junction, he noticed a pickup truck overtaking him from the left and then swerving into his lane. To signal his presence, Beat honked his horn once. This seemingly innocuous act triggered an aggressive response from the pickup truck driver, who honked back, shouted insults, and challenged Beat to pull over. Upon stopping to address the situation, Beat was met by the older man emerging from his vehicle brandishing a long knife. The man, appearing intoxicated, angrily accused Beat of driving slowly in the right lane. Beat explained that he had just exited the traffic light junction and was not hogging the lane. The older man, however, continued to provoke. “Do you want to fight?” Opting for caution, Beat decided to avoid further escalation and returned to his car. Despite the older man’s pursuit, the two eventually parted ways when Beat made a U-turn. Facebook warning Beat later posted about the incident on his personal Facebook page to warn other road users. The post garnered significant attention, with many commenting on similar experiences with the same individual. One commenter mentioned being threatened similarly at the same location but refrained from confronting the man due to having a child in the car. Following the overwhelming response to his post, Beat reported the incident to the San Sai Police Station. Police officers identified the aggressive driver as a 56 year old man from Phan district, Chiang Rai, based on the vehicle’s registration number. “I just wanted to warn others about this dangerous situation. It’s not safe to have someone like that on the road, especially when they’re armed.” The police are now investigating the matter, with potential charges pending against the knife-wielding driver. This incident highlights the dangers of road rage and the importance of staying calm in volatile situations. The local community is urged to report similar encounters to ensure that roads remain safe for everyone, reported KhaoSod. 5. Police arrested a Thai man for tricking young girls into producing pornography and selling the explicit content online, the youngest being 12 years old. A monk and a government official were found to be regular customers of the suspect. The Royal Thai Police (RTP) and Chiang Mai Provincial Police held a press conference yesterday, August 5, to report the successful arrest of 20 year old university student, Paramate Manikaew, who produced and sold child pornography online. Paramate was arrested at his home in the Mae Ta district of the northern province of Lamphun on June 12. His arrest followed the discovery of explicit videos he sold on a Telegram account, @aiestickv2. Each customer had to pay Paramate a membership fee of 120 baht to access his account and the pornographic content. The pornography on his account featured 12 victims aged between 12 and 22 years old. Police have identified only six of them and will provide further care, both physically and mentally, to all the victims. Paramate confessed to his criminal act and explained that he used dating apps and his attractive appearance to lure victims. After talking to each victim for a while, Paramate would invite them to his home. Paramate usually invited victims under the guise of modelling, joining a singing audition, or playing an online game. He would then coerce them into sexual activities and secretly record videos of the victims. Paramate sometimes tricked victims into sharing explicit pictures and videos with him, which he then sold. Officers further investigated Paramate’s customers from over 100 Telegram accounts that followed his account. Police arrested two of them, a monk and a government official, and will continue to arrest more relevant individuals. Officers did not reveal the details of the legal charges and punishment against Paramate. However, following previous cases, Paramate is likely to be charged under Section 287/1 of the Criminal Law: possession and distribution of child pornography. The penalty is imprisonment of up to seven years, a fine of up to 140,000 baht, or both. 6. 7. An electricity bill of 50 million baht shocked a Thai food stall owner in the central province of Chachoengsao. Locals in the area suspect an electricity scam. The stall owner, Sombat, told Kom Chad Luek yesterday, August 5, that he found the electricity bill in the mailbox outside his home, which also serves as a food stall. This was despite having already paid this month’s bill of approximately 1,000 baht. Sombat explained that he does not have a smartphone or mobile banking app, so he went to a grocery shop for help with the payment. The grocery shop owner was shocked upon seeing the amount of the bill. The electricity fee shown on the app was 50,000,069.48 baht. Both Sombat and the shop owner checked the bill and noticed it looked slightly different from previous bills. The bill was horizontal instead of vertical, but the other information seemed legitimate, including Sombat’s name, address, and electricity fee. It also stated that Sombat had missed a payment, which he denied. Sombat told the media that the shop owner and other locals believed the bill was counterfeit, sent by a scam gang. They urged Sombat to ignore the bill and share the story as a warning. As of now, the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), responsible for electricity distribution and service in the province, has not yet addressed the issue. The same scam was reported in March this year, with many Thai victims taking to social media to warn others. One woman revealed she unwittingly paid the fake bill. Another victim disclosed that she paid the fake bill before all her savings were transferred to the scammers. Each victim urged people to check the colour and pattern of electricity bills before making payments, noting that the fees on fake bills are usually higher than usual. 8. Bitter pill: Gay man accused of poisoning friend for insurance cash Photo via Channel 8 A gay Thai man in the central province of Lopburi has been accused of poisoning a female friend with cyanide and staging a motorcycle accident to claim an insurance payout of 1.5 million baht. Full Story: https://aseannow.com/topic/1334803-bitter-pill-gay-man-accused-of-poisoning-friend-for-insurance-cash/
  9. A gay Thai man in the central province of Lopburi has been accused of poisoning a female friend with cyanide and staging a motorcycle accident to claim an insurance payout of 1.5 million baht. The victim, a 25 year old Thai woman, Chonlada “Tong” Kongdam, was admitted to King Narai Hospital in the central province of Lopburi at midnight on February 2 earlier this year after she crashed her motorcycle into a roadside forest on Nikhom-Ban Dong Noi Road. Tong suffered only minor injuries, including a wound near her right eye and scratches on her face. However, her condition unexpectedly worsened, leading to her death in the early hours of February 3. The medical team suspected foul play, as the injuries from the accident were not serious. An autopsy revealed cyanide in Tong’s blood system and stomach. Channel 8 investigated the case and discovered that Tong’s motorcycle accident occurred a day after she signed an insurance document. Tong had a young son but was divorced. However, the beneficiary of the insurance was not Tong’s son or other family members but her gay friend, Por. In the insurance document, Por was identified as Tong’s boyfriend. According to Channel 8, Por appeared to be Tong’s best friend and was present at the accident scene, the hospital, and Tong’s funeral. Channel 8 also found a conversation between Tong and another friend named Fern, revealing that Por was her friend, not her boyfriend. Por wanted to have a child but was unable to, due to being a gay man, so Por planned to adopt Tong’s son. Tong also told Fern that Por took excellent care of her and her son. Nevertheless, the close relationship between Tong and Por made Por the main suspect in the woman’s death. Family opposes investigation A temple staff member and a makeup artist who worked on Tong’s funeral told Channel 8 that Por and another woman, who appeared boyish, asked them to work quickly to prepare Tong for the coffin. Typically, Thai funerals last at least three days before cremation but Tong’s was completed in just one day. The makeup artist also revealed that Tong’s body had darkened, despite her having had fair skin while alive. The artist suspected poisoning, as Tong’s body displayed similar signs to those reported in previous poisoning news cases. This suspicion was later confirmed. Channel 8 reported that Tong’s family members refused to be interviewed and insisted they did not suspect foul play in her death. They wanted to drop the investigation and wanted to know who shared the details of Tong’s death with the media. The media team explained that they attempted to contact Por for an interview but were unsuccessful. Por’s neighbours told the media that he rarely returned home after Tong’s death. Even though Tong’s family did not want to pursue further investigation into her death, the well-known Thai lawyer, Nitikorn “James” Kaewto, urged the police to continue their investigation, as the suspicious death of a resident is considered a criminal offence in Thailand. 11. A fire broke out at a flower and wreath shop in Bangkok, spreading to two adjacent units and injuring one person. Initially appearing manageable, the blaze escalated. The Rama Radio Centre received reports of a fire at 11.09pm yesterday, August 5, at a residential building opposite Sukhumvit Hospital on Sukhumvit Road, Phra Khanong Nuea subdistrict, Watthana district. The Bangkok Fire and Rescue Department quickly dispatched personnel and fire trucks to the scene. The incident occurred at a three-storey commercial building operating as a flower and wreath shop. Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke emanating from the first floor. Initial efforts to extinguish the fire with water seemed successful, but flames later spread to the third floor’s roof area. This required an urgent escalation in firefighting efforts. “The firefighters initially thought they had the situation under control but the fire spread to the third floor, making it more challenging.” After more than 45 minutes of battling the blaze, the fire was finally contained. The fire affected two adjacent units but there were no reported casualties inside the building. One man was injured, suffering from electric shock, and was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. “The injured man was quickly taken to the hospital after being shocked by electricity. Fortunately, no one else was harmed.” The cause of the fire is still under investigation, with local officials planning a thorough inspection of the site. The fire department emphasised the importance of adhering to safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. Regular checks on electrical systems and fire safety equipment can be crucial in mitigating such risks, reported KhaoSod. 12. Thai hotels face 111 million baht loss after FTI Group collapse Picture courtesy of The Pattaya News official website The collapse of German tour company FTI Group has resulted in significant financial losses for Thai hotels, totalling over 111 million baht. 13. The collapse of German tour company FTI Group has resulted in significant financial losses for Thai hotels, totalling over 111 million baht. Hotel operators in Thailand are now seeking assistance from the German Embassy through coordination with the Tourism and Sports Ministry. FTI Group, the third-largest tour operator in Europe, filed for insolvency in June, impacting tourists and operators across multiple countries, including Thailand. The Thai Hotels Association (THA) and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) plan to submit a letter to the Tourism and Sports Ministry to coordinate with the German Embassy in Thailand. They aim to discuss potential methods for claiming compensation. TAT Deputy Governor for Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas, Siripakorn Cheawsamoot, noted that only 250,000 travellers in Germany who purchased tour packages could expect reimbursement via the German Travel Security Fund, according to a recent report from Germany. “However, there has been no progress on compensating affected agencies outside Germany.” In Thailand, most tourists who booked through FTI had already completed their trips, but hotels have been unable to claim expenses from the company, explained THA president Thienprasit Chaiyapatranun. Some Thai hotels have reported losses ranging from 3-4 million baht due to this single case. New bookings Thienprasit mentioned that since the collapse occurred two months ago, hotels have not received new bookings from FTI, which has helped to prevent the accumulation of new debts. One of FTI’s partnered agencies in Thailand has reached out to THA, requesting affected hotels to submit booking invoices to calculate reimbursement. During the pandemic, Thai hotels also faced a large amount of unpaid bookings from a top Russian operator but were fully compensated years later by that company. Given the ongoing global economic challenges, hotels still depend on wholesale tour companies by providing them with credit systems to maintain customer volume, as online bookings alone are insufficient to fill their rooms. Hotels may now consider reducing the credit amount or credit duration for tour operators to minimise their risks. TAT Executive Director for Europe Chiravadee Khunsub mentioned that since FTI’s financial instability became apparent early, some hotels swiftly shifted to a pre-paid system before receiving guests from FTI. Chiravadee added that unfortunately, many of them could not access the information, resulting in suspended payments. To prevent similar incidents, TAT’s offices in Europe and its marketing representative will offer consultation and verify the credibility of tour agencies for Thai operators if requested by hotels. Chiravadee assured that the collapse of FTI should not disrupt the European inbound target for Thailand, as tourists can opt for other travel companies or booking methods. As of July 31, European tourists numbered 4 million, with the TAT aiming to reach a 7 million target, reported Bangkok Post. 14. Thailand’s park department concerns over forest conservation bills Picture courtesy of Mongabay official website Thailand’s Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) raised serious concerns over two proposed bills aimed at protecting indigenous people’s land rights. 15. Thailand’s Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) raised serious concerns over two proposed bills aimed at protecting indigenous people’s land rights. The department argues these bills could significantly undermine forest conservation efforts across the country. DNP Chief Attapol Charoenshunsa stated that, if passed, the bills put forward by the civil rights group P-Move and the Ministry of Culture would transfer protected land to individuals he referred to as forest encroachers and capitalists. Attapol commented, specifically criticising P-Move’s bill. “The bills will also encourage further encroachment into protected forest areas.” This bill seeks to grant amnesty to individuals convicted under several forest and environmental laws, allowing them to remain on the land until their legal right to do so is verified. From 2015 to today, the DNP documented 13,760 cases of forest encroachment involving 2,718 offenders, covering 180,002.71 rai of encroached land. Additionally, the department reported 1,140 instances of forest burning and 9,713 illegal logging cases during this period. The bill proposed by the Ministry of Culture aims to protect and promote the heritage of ethnic indigenous peoples, including the safeguarding of hill groups’ spiritual sites. If enacted, the bill would involve community members collaborating with local government officials to designate sacred and culturally significant areas that would be exempt from forest protection laws. A DNP source highlighted that this bill could undermine conservation efforts by granting ethnic committees the power to designate any area, even protected forest reserves, as sacred sites. The source stressed the importance of careful scrutiny, as forest preservation, animal hunting, and burning laws would not apply in these designated areas. These two bills will effectively curb the ability of forest conservationists to protect the interests of the general public, who are the ultimate owners as the source stated, noting that current national park laws were designed to maintain harmonious living conditions and have allowed people to coexist in protected forest areas. The department remains firm in its stance that any legal changes should not compromise the nation’s forest conservation and preservation objectives, reported Bangkok Post. 16. CIB warns iPhone users against suspicious notifications Picture courtesy of Jagran josh official website Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) warns iPhone users not to grant permission if prompted by suspicious notifications, indicating potential criminal activity attempting to access their device. 17. Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) warns iPhone users not to grant permission if prompted by suspicious notifications, indicating potential criminal activity attempting to access their device. The CIB issued a warning to iPhone users today about the dangers of certain notifications. They cautioned users against granting permission if they receive messages such as Reset Password—Use this iPhone to reset your Apple ID password or Apple ID Sign-in Requested without having initiated these actions. The CIB highlighted that such notifications might indicate that cybercriminals are trying to access the user’s device. The CIB’s post on social media specifically addressed iPhone users, urging them to be vigilant. They explained that if a user receives a notification requesting a password reset or a sign-in attempt from an unfamiliar location, it is crucial not to grant permission. These notifications might display unfamiliar locations, including foreign countries, which the user has never visited, said the CIB. “Do not grant permission under any circumstances, as it is likely that cybercriminals are attempting to infiltrate your system.” In addition to advising users not to grant permission, the CIB recommended immediate actions to secure the device. Users should change their passwords immediately, force all devices to log out of their accounts, and enable two-factor authentication (2FA). These steps are crucial to protecting personal information and preventing unauthorised access. For those encountering online fraudsters or needing to report suspicious activity, the CIB provided a hotline number for assistance. The Anti-Online Crime (AOC) Centre can be reached at 1441, available 24 hours a day. Cybersecurity Cybersecurity remains a significant concern as cybercriminals employ increasingly sophisticated methods to gain access to personal information. The CIB’s timely warning serves as a reminder for all iPhone users to stay vigilant and proactive in safeguarding their devices. The recommended security measures, such as changing passwords regularly and enabling 2FA, are essential practices in today’s digital age. Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second form of verification, often through a secondary device or application, thereby making it more challenging for unauthorized users to gain access. It is also advisable to stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats and updates. Regularly updating software and being cautious about unsolicited messages or notifications can significantly reduce the risk of falling victim to cybercrimes. The CIB’s efforts in educating the public about these threats and providing actionable steps to enhance security are commendable. With technology’s rapid advancement, such awareness campaigns are vital in helping individuals protect their personal and sensitive information from malicious actors, reported Khaosod. 19. A Thai man sought help from non-profit organisation Saimai Survive after an influential person in the southern province of Phang Nga after being physically assaulted and threatened with an M16 rifle following a row on the road. The 23 year old victim, Kiattiphum, shared with Saimai Survive that his rival attempted to kill him. The row between them began after the rival’s teenage son almost crashed his motorcycle into Kiattiphum’s motorcycle on a road in Koh Yao Yai, an island in Phang Nga, on August 1. Kiattiphum revealed that he was shocked and complained to the teenage rider in a southern dialect. The teenager became angry and called his father to the scene. The father asked his son to apologise to Kiattiphum, and Kiattiphum warned the teenager again to be careful while riding. His warning angered the teenager’s father, who claimed Kiattiphum insulted him by complaining about his son in front of him. The teenager’s father and Kiattiphum then engaged in a physical altercation. The rival pulled out a knife and attempted to stab Kiattiphum, who ran away and hid in his room. The boy’s father then gave up his stabbing attempt and later returned to Kiattiphum’s home with an M16 rifle. He fired into the sky and dared Kiattiphum to come out of hiding before leaving. Kiattiphum told the organisation that he reported the matter to Koh Yao Police Station. However, the police allegedly urged him to drop the case. Police later told Kiattiphum they could not help and suggested he go to Bangkok to seek help from Saimai Survive because his rival was an influential person in the area. Kiattiphum stated that he was worried about the safety of his wife and child, as the rival had expressed his intention to kill them. According to Kiattiphum, his rival allegedly shot a local on the island. The founder of Saimai Survive, Ekkaphop Lueangprasert, told DailyNews that he would report the matter to the Phang Nga Provincial Governor and Phang Nga Provincial Police to seek justice for the victim. 21. A Thai man in Phuket sparked controversy by fishing in front of people releasing fish at a temple pond, and ignoring their reactions. The incident, which took place at Wat Chaiyathararam in Chalong, was captured in a 29-second video shared by the Facebook page Newshawk Phuket. The video shows a man in a black shirt calmly fishing, despite onlookers releasing fish into the pond. This action has led to a wave of criticism from the local community. One resident questioned if this behaviour is considered normal. “I even spoke loudly to my friend, but he just sat there quietly, continuing to fish. I don’t know who owns this pond but fishing right in front of people feeding the fish is too much.” The video also shows two to three other individuals on the right side of the frame, partially obscured by trees. The location is identified as the area for fish release within Wat Chaiyathararam, commonly known as Wat Chalong, in Mueang Phuket District. Since the video went public, it garnered significant attention and prompted numerous comments. The community is divided, with many criticising the man’s insensitivity and lack of respect for the temple’s traditions and the people participating in the fish release. “Phuket, this is too much. Fishing right in front of people releasing fish,” the Newshawk Phuket page captioned the video. The post has since been widely shared, drawing reactions from people both within and outside Phuket. The practice of releasing fish is a common Buddhist tradition, symbolising the act of making merit and showing compassion towards living beings. This tradition is often observed at temples, where devotees release fish into ponds as a way of earning merit and seeking blessings. The man’s behaviour has been viewed as disrespectful and contrary to these values, said one netizen. “Is this normal? Even when I spoke to my friend loudly, he just continued sitting and fishing without care.” The sentiment reflects the community’s frustration and the cultural clash evident in the video. Despite the backlash, the man remained unfazed, continuing his fishing activity. His indifference has only intensified the criticism, with many calling for more respect towards religious practices and communal spaces. 23. Justice Minister Police Colonel Tawee Sodsong, accompanied by the Inspector-General of the Department of Corrections, Narong Nukong, visited Phuket Provincial Prison yesterday to inspect prisoner conditions and encourage inmate rehabilitation. Joining them were Phuket Vice Governor Norasak Suksomboon, MP Chalermpong Saengdee, Rewat Areerob, President of the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation (PPAO), and Arkom Phusri, Director of the Phuket Provincial Prison. Their first stop was to observe inmates dredging the Bang Yai Canal to prevent flooding during the rainy season. Police Colonel Tawee praised the inmates for their public service efforts and urged them to prepare for reintegration into society. The visit continued at Phuket Provincial Prison in Srisoonthorn, where Thalang District Office officials provided ID card services for inmates nearing release. Fifty inmates received their ID cards during this event. Pol. Col. Tawee also inspected the Shared Health Dentistry Project in Correctional Institutions in Phuket Province, which runs from yesterday through tomorrow, August 6. This project involves volunteer doctors and nurses from various Phuket hospitals offering dental care to inmates, including wisdom tooth surgeries, extractions, and fillings. The PPAO provided a subsidy of 110,000 baht to support this initiative, benefiting 590 inmates so far. In sections three and four of the prison, Pol. Col. Tawee encouraged inmates to focus on education and skill development to aid their post-release careers. Thailand’s soft power The President of the Sports Association of Phuket, Thammawat Wongcharoenyot, accompanied the Justice Minister and donated Muay Thai sports equipment to the prison. This initiative aims to promote the productive use of inmates’ free time through sports, aligning with government efforts to enhance Thailand’s soft power. Pol. Col. Tawee also addressed the issue of inmates with outstanding debts from the Student Loan Fund. Many inmates struggled to repay their loans, impacting their guarantors, often parents or guardians. The Ministry of Justice coordinated with the Student Loan Fund to mediate these debts. On August 14, a team of lawyers and loan fund representatives will meet to mediate debts for 43 inmates, amounting to over B3 million. Before concluding the visit, Pol. Col. Tawee and his team toured the prison library, which features air-conditioned rooms, computers, and a vast collection of quality books. The library aims to provide inmates with productive studying and recreational opportunities. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visited Phuket in April to inaugurate the Library of Wisdom at the prison. The library, housing over 10,000 titles, mirrors the multicultural society of Phuket Old Town, including Thai Muslims, Sikhs, and Peranakan communities. It includes royal writings, general knowledge, reference books, novels, journals, magazines, and an electronic media corner for e-learning, reported the Phuket News. 25. A grocery store owner in Khon Kaen was tricked into purchasing a crate, she believed contained beer, for 500 baht, but found out it was filled with ordinary water instead. She posted a video online to caution other shop owners about this scam. The incident happened on August 4, around 7pm. The shop owner, 64-year-old Suphan, was at her shop in the Ban Samakkhi area in Mueang district, Khon Kaen, when a man rode up to her on a motorcycle. The man, who had a short, stout build and dark skin, offered to sell Suphan a crate of beer for 500 baht, which was significantly cheaper than the market price of more than 600 baht per crate. Suphan, considering the late hour and recent news of a beer truck accident near her village, thought the beers might be discounted due to being from the accident. Suphan checked the crate, which appeared new, and decided to buy it. After paying, the man bought some local alcoholic beverage. Suphan commented on the unusual scenario of him selling beer then buying alcohol. The man casually drank the beverage and left on his bike. Soon after, Suphan's son came to the shop. She asked him to open the crate and they found the bottles strangely sealed and some caps not fully closed. They discovered all 12 bottles were filled with water. Realizing they had been fooled, Suphan decided to record a video pouring out the water, posting it on Facebook to alert others of the scam. “I was shocked and disappointed. I hope this serves as a warning to others to be alert and don't fall for such scams.” Following the video going viral, several shop owners shared their similar experiences, suggesting the scam could be more common than initially believed. Suphan plans to report the matter to the Tha Phra Police Station. Despite being scammed, she remains forgiving and wants the man to stop duping other people. This scam emphasizes the need for small business owners to be vigilant, particularly in economic difficulties when scams are more likely. Suphan's experience is a reminder to verify products and sellers to avoid being tricked. Suphan's local community has shown support and shared her video to raise awareness. The police is expected to investigate the incident in hopes of preventing future scams and bring the scammer to justice.
