Another perspective on the tragic murder case of a young woman, 23 years old, shot dead by her enraged ex-boyfriend, has emerged. The victim’s father revealed details of how the family desperately sought help and tried to rescue their daughter before her untimely demise. The attacker, Channarong, 35 years old, is now in police custody. The incident took place in front of an auto repair shop opposite a community centre in Si Thep district, Phetchabun. The 23 year old woman was killed, while her parents suffered injuries. Her father had a head wound, while her mother had abrasions on her neck and jaw area. As the victim’s relatives gathered to prepare for her funeral, her father Greangkrai shared his version of the story, refuting the perpetrator’s claim of a love-related feud. He explained that his daughter had a relationship with the attacker, which ended due to the latter’s gambling addiction. Channarong depleted two to three hundred thousand baht in savings as a result of his habit. Bangkok’s Yellow Line monorail route was given a stamp of approval today by Thailand’s Caretaker Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, who described the new mode of transport as “comfortable.” Setting off from the Yellow Line railway depot on Srinagarindra Road, he and his entourage embarked on a 45 minute journey covering the entire monorail line and reaching Lat Phrao. Though the Mass Rapid Transit Authority had already started offering free test runs to the public on June 3, Gen Prayut’s endorsement now marks an important milestone in the monorail system’s official launch. Covering a 30-kilometre distance, the Yellow Line was built with an investment of 49 billion baht, connecting the Ratchada-Lat Phrao intersection with Sukhumvit Road in Samut Prakan province. Its construction began in 2018 with the intent to connect eastern Bangkok with the main electric railways. Chinese-made Innovia Monorail 300 Bombardier trains were implemented for the system. During his test ride, Gen Prayut remarked, “During the ride, I felt comfortable. It is a new (transport) choice for people along the route.” By Mitch Connor Caption: Photo Courtesy of Shutterstock Full Story: https://thethaiger.com/hot-news/transport/bangkoks-yellow-line-monorail-endorsed-by-pm-for-easy-city-commute-2 -- © Copyright Thaiger 2023-06-19 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Thai netizens criticised an American YouTuber, Nathan Bartling, popularly known among Thai people as My Mate Nate, after he hired 50 Thai police officers to participate in a game featured in one of his new videos. On June 17, Bartling, shared a video of a hide-and-seek game between his team and Thai police officers on his Facebook page and Youtube Channel. In the video, Bartling, shouted… “I hired 50 police officers to hunt for me and my team members in the abandoned shopping mall!” After he finished his introduction, Bartling explain the rules of the game. His team had a mere 10 minutes to find hiding spots throughout the entire building while the police officers had one hour to search for them. Each of Bartling’s team members hid in different ways. One member disguised himself as a bush, one buried himself underground, one wore an authority’s uniform, and another one hid in the wooden box. Bartling chose to hide on the rooftop. At the end of the game, the police managed to find only three members out of seven. Bartling invited the officers to join his game again, this time with 100 officers and police dogs. However, the release of the next episode of the series remains uncertain due to the criticism received from Thai netizens. Some asked whether the police joined the game during their duty or not. Others argued that the officers should remain at their police stations, available for any emergency situations. Many condemned Bartling and the police for their recklessness. Mhor Lab Panda’s Facebook page, a popular page in Thailand, warns about a tiny blood-sucking mite called ‘lone’ that causes severe itching, especially in private areas. The mite can spread through sexual contact or sharing personal items, and experts advise those affected to seek medical treatment immediately. Today, Mhor lab Panda posted a warning on social media about the presence of ‘lone’ mites. These creatures cause itching around the genitals and other hairy parts of the body. The mites, which are approximately 1 to 2 millimetres in size, have three pairs of legs, and can be observed with the help of a mobile phone camera. They feed on human blood and their saliva can cause itching and irritation. Lone mites live in body hair, usually around the genitals due to the suitable temperature. However, they can also be found in facial hair, eyelashes, and chest hair. These mites can be transmitted in two ways: Through sexual contact, or by sharing personal items such as towels, clothing, toilets, or bedding. A fraud scheme operated through Facebook has led to the arrest of a Thai couple in Phuket. The couple, a 37 year old man and a 34 year old woman, allegedly attracted victims to their deception by posting images of piles of cash and flaunting a luxurious lifestyle on their Facebook page. The couple cleverly executed a Facebook fraud scheme, where they enticed victims with an investment opportunity that promised high returns. Some individuals invested large sums of money, only to find they were unable to contact the couple later. The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) reported that the total amount swindled from victims is estimated to be over 20 million baht (approximately US$597,045). The man and woman, both from Ayutthaya, were arrested in their rented residence in Srisoonthorn, Thalang. The exact date of their arrest was not disclosed in the CIB report. They were both wanted on arrest warrants issued by the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Court for collaborating to defraud people. The Central Investigation Bureau explained in its report that the couple created the Facebook page in early 2022 to convince potential victims to join their deceitful investment scheme. It has not yet been mentioned how the authorities managed to locate and arrest the couple, but the report confirms they will now face legal action, reported Phuket News. The Commander of the Royal Thai Navy Third Area Command, Vice Admiral Arpakorn Yookongkaew, has given a stern warning to individuals occupying land illegally in the Bang Khanun Forest near Phuket International Airport, stating that their structures will be demolished. The Royal Thai Navy intends to develop facilities in the protected area, including the 22nd Anti-Aircraft Battalion, the 2nd Anti-Aircraft Regiment, the Anti-Aircraft Command Unit, an Air Defense and Coastal Defense Center, and the 4th Naval Police Battalion of the Naval Police Department. Occupying 3,763 rai of land in the forest, the proposed plan has spurred discontent among local families who claim they have been living and farming in the area for generations. During an inspection of the forest last week, Vice Admiral Arpakorn, accompanied by various officials and representatives from Monsoon Garbage Thailand, discovered an illegal structure on the land. The owner was granted 15 days to dismantle the building or face the Navy’s intervention, reported The Phuket News. “It is our intention to know the facts and then find suitable solutions to the problems. We will organise joint forest conservation activities involving the local community in the future,” said Vice Admiral Arpakorn. Yutthaphum Kaewkhem, also known as Boom, owner of the Teay Ka Ta pork barbecue page and restaurant, received a surprising half a million baht from a fan during an event in Phuket. The generous fan wanted to support Boom’s efforts in helping stray dogs and cats, and the money will contribute to these charitable causes, among others. Yesterday, during an event where Boom had been hired to cater, a fan surprised him with over 400,000 baht (US$11,504) in cash, packed in plastic bags. With Boom’s event fee included, the total sum exceeded half a million baht. Despite initially being taken aback, Boom was grateful for the unexpected donation, reported Khaosod. The fan explained that they were moved to donate such a large sum due to Boom’s history of using his personal funds to help stray animals, as well as the charitable causes operated by Boom’s pork barbecue business. These causes include providing free meals to local people in need, disabled individuals, older people aged 80 and older, children under five years old, waste collectors, and rescue workers.
