Two Pattaya tourist police found the drunk tourist on a footpath in front of VC Hotel today. He was identified as Mr. Bab, a French national of unknown age. The two officers jokingly wrote on the Pattaya Tourist Police Facebook that “Mr. Bab decided to take a nap there because he was drunk and did not want to drive.” The two officers took Mr. Bab to KTK Pattaya Hotel to sober up. The French tourist thanked the officers for a ride and their friendly assistance and was a good sport about the incident, taking a selfie with the officers and laughing about the predicament. The flood situation in several north-eastern provinces is expected to improve during early November, as the water level in the Mun River in Ubon Ratchathani Province has been stable for three consecutive days and the flow into the Mekong River is improving, according to Ubon Ratchathani Governor Chonlatee Youngtrong. The level of the Mun River was measured at 11.51 metres at 6am today (Friday) at the Democracy Bridge in Ubon Ratchathani, which is higher than the 10.97 metres recorded in 2019, but still lower than the record high in 1978, which was measured at 12.76 metres, said the governor. Meanwhile, the level of the Mekong River in Khong Chiam District has dropped by 7cm today and the water level is 5.33 metres below its bank on the Thai side, allowing water to flow from the Mun River into the Mekong River at a rate of 7,018m3/sec or 606 million cubic metres per day. Two passengers in the back, a man and a woman, managed to open the car door and swim back to safety. A 33-year-old man high on illegal drugs who allegedly used a pair of scissors to stab his girlfriend was nabbed by Sattahip police. The suspect was identified only as Somwang, 33. He allegedly stabbed his young girlfriend five times under the breast and in the rib cage, severely injuring her, according to Pol. Col. Panya Damlek, police chief of the Sattahip police station. Sattahip police then went to search the suspect’s residence in the Huay Yai subdistrict of Banglamung, Chonburi, today, October 14th, and found a zip-lock bag containing what police believed to be illegal substances. The exact drugs were not identified by law enforcement. The suspect also raised an aggressive pitbull, which was anesthetized by police to prevent potential harm.
