How to retire in Thailand
bkk6060 replied to CharlieH's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
At least 100 k or about $3,000 a month. If a person is older and retired and does not have $3,000 a month they have failed in their financial life in my opinion. Probably wasted it all away or got 3 or 4 divorces. Look in the mirror for the failure. -

Woman assaulted in Bangkok gym after rejecting man’s advances (video)
bkk6060 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
He is not a real man. Totally sick and disgusting who cares if there is reason in his mind for him to violently throw her to the ground. Absolutely no excuse for what he did he should be charged and given at least 30 days in jail. Lucky she did not hit her head hard on that door frame. Terrible and shameful. -
You are not going to find fresh flour wraps. They have them in packages at Tops, Rimping and other markets. Tops yes for Baquettes. Look up a place called Bagel House cafe and bakery.

Wongamat is higher end. Many more condos right on the beach with beachfront views. Also, more support services. Closer to the major bus station, several malls and several big Falang type markets. Jomtien is generally cheaper.

I am a tipper and I always tip unless the service is really terrible. Shows appreciation for services from people trying their best mostly making terrible lousy wages.

Yes, they like to order several dishes to share. But, what surprised me is the food waste here. Even in the rural areas ordering many dishes at restaurants, then 1/2 of it to waste. And, they don't seem big on doggie bags. But. even if they take it back home it usually is not eaten and goes to waste.

Dead Burmese man found in water tank of Bangkok condo
bkk6060 replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Yeah, but people shower, wash clothes, and boil it for soup or coffee. How disgusting would it be to know this if you lived there. I want to vomit thinking about it. -
They had big trees and everyone complained about the rats. Stupid people walk at beaches here at noon anyway. If you want though then wear sunscreen, a big Gilligan hat. a bottle of water, a cool wet towel around your neck, and carry an Umbrella. Don't worry about others think cuz you will probably be the only person out there.

Songkran festival sees surge in road accidents across Thailand
bkk6060 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Sorry, totally disagree wish it was that easy the cops here cannot stop any of it at this point. Stopping one car and a 500 b ticket while 1,000's speed by does nothing. It starts in the 5th or 6th grade with education. And, the engineering of many of the roadways is poor. But, early education is the key. -

bkk6060 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Truly disgusting. Thai people are so uneducated as to the safest way to drive and avoid accidents. Number one is following too closely at high speeds. It will never change any kind of proper driving training is no priority and will never exist. Sad so many will die -
