  1. It not Yabba so who cares

Look at all the disposable income my country United States of America is making per month 1.7 million dollars that's hust Colorado

    Sincerely Kevin Wall

What a novell idea - The Tai Govt should sell all confiscated Cannabis to Colorado, generates money for both sides.........but No, they will stupidly burn it all in an incinerator. cheesy.gif cheesy.gifclap2.gif

It grows wild all over in northern Thailand. They are peeing in the wind.

  2. There are two areas around the most, on top of the wall at the corners, where people often camp. But you usually can't see them from the road. Homeless Thais sleep there too.

  3. "Twenty names of Thai nationals who included well-known rich families, businessmen, celebrities, politicians and military officers are said to be among the list. They are linked to 963 companies."

I bet some of them appear on TV regulary

    'said to be'.

Since you're so explicit you might have mentioned 'police and military officers', just to show your objectivity rolleyes.gif

Interesting that till now the number of names 'confirmed' is somewhat minimal. Of course the alleged list is somewhat longer.

Well I should have put in bold the whole sentence, but I am particularly awaiting the list of the Army it will bring a bit more interest to the current Junta leaders....

Maybe they will export Attitude Adjustment to Panama

My guess would be that if names are put into print, then foreign news agencies would be where to look.....I can't imagine the Thai media to expose any local names.....unless of course they're "enemies" of the state :)

It is easy to get nominee directors to have the account held in their name. It's just another service offered to them. Thais, or anyone else, who were trying to hide money (illegally) and didn't use this option, were foolish, because it is easy to do.

You probably won't ever hear of the larger accounts, or the more shady ones, because they were smart enough to cover their ass if they were doing something they didn't want anyone else to know about. The low hanging fruit will be exposed, as usual.

  4. To bad can't get list from Singapore, lots of locals have accounts there as well

Cyprus, Lichtenstein, BVI, and so on. There are many places to put your money legally if done correctly. A bit shady perhaps, but still legal in most cases if you do it correctly.

Most countries don't tax their citizens on their world wide income if they live abroad, however, Americans are not so lucky. In regards to Thais, I'm sure there are plenty of tax loopholes that allow them to not report money abroad. But it all makes for a juicy read and headlines.

Look at Starbucks and IKEA for excellent examples of how to use tax havens to their advantage. For the Thais who don't report that income, they may not have to if it was money made abroad. I'm not familiar with the Thai tax code.

  5. Farang deals drugs, get handcuffed for pointing photo, headline 'American' no mention of Thai accomplices

Thai shoots a man on the street six times, no handcuffs, no pointing, headline 'Rama IV Road shooter'

It is obvious that the "news" headlines and slant here are created for max views and discussion, and that's OK with me. It's quite brilliant actually, as it brings us all together, daily, which shows more ads and so on. TV has it figured out, and I commend them for it. It's a good business model, especially when they are so many grumpy guys here who want to complain and express their frustration. Slant a headline or story, or post something ridiculous or unfair, and you have pages of engagement. I only wish I could have thought of it first.

Secondly, in regards to the cuffs vs no cuffs, point vs no point, it is quite simple, most of the Thais loath us. They tolorate the heck out of us, but anytime they can get away with a kick, punch, cheat, stab, robbing, cuffing, or humiliation, they do it. Such treatment and images time and time again prove this.

For me, reading the news on TV every morning is pure entertainment. I can't wait to see who was killed or arrested, what public transport crashed, and which idiotic politician or "expert" said something incredibly stupid. I love it. It's like living inside of a twisted cartoon.
