Everything I have is Apple. A Mac Mini, a MacBook Air, two iPad Pros, and an iPad mini. Plus an IPhone. It's all hooked up to the same ecosystem. The same passwords for everything. And I always use a VPN.

For sure. If someone thinks Twinkies are a health food, who am I to tell them otherwise? What they eat is up to them. People mean well, they just don't know. Remember the Woody Allen movie "Sleeper"? The owner of a health food store in the 1970s wakes up from a coma 200 years later, only to find that all the foods he once thought were unhealthy are actually good for you. Steak, hot fudge, fats.

I use Apple, so I guess my email password is the same as the password for my Apple ID. And that is something Apple makes up. It's a very strong password. But the hackers even have a way around that? Something in the back of my brain seems to remember that I should use facial ID and not just a password? Or maybe I shouldn't use 2FA at all? I need to look into that.

Travel Rising Prices, Broken Systems Dim Thailand’s Tourist Charm
jas007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Personally, I don't see a problem. If some things cost a bit more, so what? Welcome to 2025. It's a worldwide phenomena. It's called inflation, and it's not going away anytime soon. Normally, I try to eat healthy, but today, I treated myself to a pizza, delivered. A little over 300 baht. What would it cost in the USA? $40? I think I got a deal here in Thailand. Ditto for rent, utilities, and just about everything else I buy.- 196 replies

The COVID Scamdemic and its link to 'Scientism'
jas007 replied to Red Phoenix's topic in Covid/Vaccine
In a sense, it's not their fault. They are well and truly brainwashed and actually believe their own nonsense. Once upon a time, I knew this subject inside and out, but it has been a few years and I've forgotten much of it. It's history. I do worry, though, about all the people who may be dropping dead over the next few years. And they don't know what's coming. -
Economy Thailand May Be Spared from US Tariff List
jas007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Don't forget who built U-Tapo airport and why it's still important. Anyway, since WWII, the Thais have a long history of cooperation with the USA. And for the USA, Thailand is an important partner in the region. A strategically important airport and a foothold in SE Asia. All necessary to counter China. -
Report Pattaya Officials Crack Down on Sidewalk Encroachments
jas007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Is LK Metro public or private? I remember back when I first stayed in that neighborhood almost 20 years ago. Businesses started to expand their operations into the street and there was some discussion about whether that was legal and should be allowed. Fast forward to 2025 and that seems to be totally OK. Not only do you have your business, you have a big portion of the street, as well. -
The COVID Scamdemic and its link to 'Scientism'
jas007 replied to Red Phoenix's topic in Covid/Vaccine
One of my cousins is an infectious disease specialist. He spent the entirety of his professional career dealing with viruses. He's on the faculty at a major medical school in New York. He's a well known expert. I could post more than a few YouTube videos of people interviewing him. Anyway, I haven't talked to him for years, so I don't know what he thinks about the COVID thing. My guess its that even he was fooled at first. People have been conditioned to "trust the science." Even doctors fall for it. It's a recipe for disaster. If there are people at the top with bad intentions, bad things can happen. -
So it's your contention that doctors don't earn money from drug companies? LOL As for what doctors "know"? Most of them go with the flow. They look at recommended treatments and follow the recommendations. They have computers for that. The computers tell them what to do. Most are incapable of thinking for themselves. And that's the problem in a nutshell. Still, not all is lost. There are doctors who know better and who tell the truth. Fortunately, no one has managed to shut them up. As for anonymous posters on a message board? In my case, I'm not giving anyone advice. Just discussing what some doctors have said.

The COVID Scamdemic and its link to 'Scientism'

And don''t forget, those are phony numbers, no doubt. Everyone they could possibly classify as dying "from COVID" was so classified. And, given the questionable testing, they didn't really know anyway. I was older, I looked at the numbers, and I still took my chances. Better that than to take a jab I knew was trouble. At least I had a chance. -

jas007 replied to Red Phoenix's topic in Covid/Vaccine
I'm afraid there's not much point in arguing with him. Partly, I think, because for him, the damage has been done. He was jabbed. So of course, that was the right move! Time will tell. Some people think that, for the jabbed, their time on this earth is limited, especially if they received a booster shot or multiple booster shots. "Long COVID," or vaccine damage to the immune system? Excess deaths in the civilized world are already through the roof. Just ask any insurance company executive who will tell you the truth. It's a disaster. -
Yes. The drug companies selling anti-cholesterol medication make a lot of money from those drug sales. Why would they suddenly start telling the truth? Anyway, I have friends who take those meds, but it's not my place to give them medical advice. So I don't. I just send them a picture, once in a while, of the streak and eggs I have for breakfast. It's too bad, though, what's happening. There's fraud just about everywhere you look. The entire "Food Pyramid" is wrong. it's upside down. The stuff at the top should be at the bottom. Or did they recently make some adjustments? You can bet RFK Jr. has a few enemies at this point. People working 24/7 to label him a "conspiracy theorist." Lots of money is made selling people seed oils, processed food, ultra-processed food, high fructose corn syrup, chemical additives in their food, etc. They don't care who they hurt in the process, so long as the $$$$ are there.

The COVID Scamdemic and its link to 'Scientism'
jas007 replied to Red Phoenix's topic in Covid/Vaccine
I think you miss the point about who "caught COVID." How did they know? By way of a phony PCR test? As for the people "requiring" ICU admission? Sick people, usually old, usually with multiple medical problems, and usually deficient in Vitamin D. And they were very sick. That's all we can say. Test any of them with a phony PCR test and they're likely to test "positive." The healthy people? They didn't show up in the emergency room in the first place. The whole vaccinated/unvaccinated thing is a red herring. Without a valid way to test who is who, no one really knows, other than sick people showed up at the hospital, sometimes after having been turned away earlier when their condition was not yet "serious." "Trust the science." Some people believe "the Science" belongs in jail. -
Before anyone believes this nonsense, do a little research. Nothing could be further from the truth.

He's talking about the Bubonic Plague that wiped out about half of the European population in the Middle Ages. Obviously, nothing whatever to do with COVID, but I'm sure he knows that. -

The COVID Scamdemic and its link to 'Scientism'
jas007 replied to Red Phoenix's topic in Covid/Vaccine
Some people think it was the masks and the resulting bacterial infections that did most of the damage back then, not the "flu." Anyway, apples and oranges. The COVID thing was most definitely planned. All of it. In 1918, the authorities were just stupid, as usual. -
The COVID Scamdemic and its link to 'Scientism'
jas007 replied to Red Phoenix's topic in Covid/Vaccine
Of course. That should be common knowledge by now for anyone who was paying attention. One guy who helped to invent the PCR test is of the opinion that, as used during COVID, the test was invalid. It could be used to show anyone tested positive of just about anything. And so, during COVID. lots of people tested "positive." And when those same people later died in the hospital, the hospital got big bucks. You could have been hit by a Mac Truck the day before and died of your injuries, but if you also tested positive on a phony baloney PCR test, you were classified as a COVID death. I forget the dollar figure the hospitals collected, but it was astronomical. $39,000? Something like that. It's easy to see how it world turn out. -

With any luck, Trump will be able to solve the mail-in vote problem, or at least curtail a lot of the abuses. I put the whole COVID thing out of my mind a few years ago. I was one of the lucky ones that wasn't stupid enough to get jabbed, and that's the way it's going to stay, if I have anything to say about it. They can find someone other than me to "depopulate." -

jas007 replied to Red Phoenix's topic in Covid/Vaccine
That's just the tip of the iceberg, if that. I won't lay out the whole thing, but as far as the hospitals go, sometime look into how they were compensated during COVID. A lot of money for every "COVID" death and even more money if the patient died while on a ventilator. And, at least according to some doctors, it was the ventilators that were deadly. And the advice they gave out during COVID didn't help much. I think they told people to go home and wait until they got really really sick, and then come back. Did they bother with Ivermectin or other possible treatments? Of course not. The "science" told them not to do that. Maybe. someday the truth will come out. -

power grid failure / blackout in spain
jas007 replied to save the frogs's topic in Political Soapbox
I'm pretty sure most people don't realize how dependent they are on the grid, especially people in large urban areas. Maybe the grid can go down for a day and everyone will be OK, but what happens if it's down longer than that? Imagine NYC or LA with no power for a week. The food would be gone in a few days. All electrical appliances useless. No ATM machines. No stores open. No lights anywhere. Or imagine a big city like Phoenix, in the middle of the summer in the desert heat, suddenly with no power. 115 degrees F in the summer is fairly common. Only a few roads to higher elevations. Lots of people wouldn't survive. -
Probably not. They have no plan. They have no ideas, other than to "get Trump." This congressman, whoever he is, is just looking for his 15 minutes. What ideas could they possibly come up with that would top their prior nonsense? How much further left can they go? I'm not sure what they're thinking, but it hasn't been working so well, lately.

Economy Thailand May Be Spared from US Tariff List
jas007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thailand is important to the US for geopolitical reasons. Strong military ties, a history of military cooperation, a US foothold in the region, and so on. It's not enough of a big deal one way or the other, economically, but in the larger context, it is important because of its location.
