And as of late February covid testing is no longer required for transiting Singapore Changi airport (SIN)  Another burdensome and onerous requirement eliminated!  ????

Good to know thank you!. Unfortunately for me i was 3 months early. Flying back on Singapore Air to LAX i did need an atk test at she wanna boom

I also believe the pre flight testing is a requirement to board some airlines

Also required for many transit countries. I got caught out as for Thailand the test is with in 72 hours but transit was 48 hours in Singapore so i had to do another test at LAX.....at my expense which the facility did not accept insurance. Out $150.00 USD

  3. She was one of my favorites about 15 years ago.I knew she had a fairly wild and tumultuous life. My wife has been following this story as many Thai's have and there's a lot left out of this story. i won't get into detail as it's only what she told me and not gospel yet but there was an incident where someone of the boat had multiple scratches on their face prior to her falling off.  Tragedy really as she had a rough life, some of it brought on herself and some of it not, but she was a very talented lady. RIP

Booze is not cheap in Thailand, unless you drink the local rocket juice and not many tourists will drink that.

I can just about remember our run a shores in Bangkok...... All those green and white tickets..

Depends on how much you drink i guess. A night out on the grog here will typically run me around $25.00 USD, can't get started for that there

  5. Very loaded topic, don't even know where to begin. Most teens are trying to hide the fact from their elders that they are having sex, so birth control leaves a footprint they don't want.  Up in the villages condoms are twice the price of a meal and not widely available, also everyone knows everyone.

I've bought many boxes of condoms in the bug city and seen a few layers of dust on them LOL

    Disagree.

It is not only Thailand, every country has their own rules and regulations.

Inflation has rising prices all over the globe. People have less money to travel.

The pandemic smacks many into reduced salaries or unemployment.

People have found places closer to home and cheaper.

If you are not after cheap sex, what is the point in going to Thailand?

Nicer beaches all over the world, same lower cost destinations, etc.

Probably the most ignorant thing i've read on here and that's saying something

Decided to stick with current AQ hotel because revised T&G says I have to spend 5 days at one hotel anyway, rather than 7 for AQ, and still do the 2 * PCR tests. The differences will be I can get out of the room if I pass Day 1 test and won't need the 3 meals a day delivered thereafter. I have asked them if they will give me a discount on that.

That's all assuming the T&G website is adjusted quickly to allow T&G applications to be filed now where they become effective after 1st Feb, otherwise I can't leave it to last minute and will just have to apply for the Pass under AQ.

You don't have to spend 5 days in the hotel. You are free to go anywhere after you receive your negative result. You then have to report back on day 5, test at the hotel and hole up in the room until your result comes in. Ridiculous but hey.....TIT

Just as a side note, the air filtration system inside newer planes is highly efficient and as effective as covid hospital wards in some studies. Thats before Omicron, not sure if that changes things a bit?

Not on the bathrooms where everyone takes their masks off to wash their face or brush their teeth. Also how effective is a mask when we take them off to eat while cramped shoulder to shoulder in cattle class?

  9. I wish i had the pics from the fireworks show where you had seemingly thousands closely congregating with out masks which was all perfectly acceptable or intentionally overlooked. Jan 16, should be just enough stall time to see what happens with the new Omicron variant so.....they can continue to keep things closed even though they are boasting about the job they have done in controlling the virus! They are also boasting about their vax rate but yet even with it reaching the set herd immunity levels they continue to keep these venues closed, the same herd immunity rate they said they needd to achieve in order to open safely.
