  1. This may explain the nature of my experiences here, which have been exclusively with ladies of the Issan variety, since I live in that area. Without exception, those that I have had any relationship with, pretty much fit the description of your first example - primarily interested in money, cannot be trusted, etc, etc. None of them have been bar girls. I have been slammed for not choosing a better class of woman, but that is what is available here.

All the time I hear you go on about Thai women wanting only money.

You are 50 yrs old, you like dating 20 yr old students, what do you expect them to want from you?

  2. hmmm, my Gf is thai chinese, well educated ect....She has no problems with Kissing, Thai or Farrang style.....Even kissed on the first date. Seems like this girl has a few issues, not kissing, making strange noises and facial guestures. Are you sure she is a true female?

She's probably been with quite a few farang so is more used to it by now. :o

  3. Great.... Beggar Bashing... TV's "finest(?)" on a topic that makes them feel good about themselves.

I don't see many posters bashing the man here, and from people's experiences of this man it doesn't seem like he is begging either. Perhaps it's time you changed the record in accordance to the topic and the responses GH.

Post 2. Post 3. Post 11. Post 22. Post 29....... What was that about changing the record?

Not many for this type of subject though. You'd be enjoying much were if there was some more beggar bashing I know, because then it would give you a chance to bash some more posters. :o

Most posts here have been quite compassionate don't you think?

  5. thais that i know (not the hi/so group for sure but thai non the less) like dove brand, and nivea (up country goes over big);

With no disrespect for Bina (and thinking about your BF's family socio eco class), Dove soap is pretty cheap in Bangkok and available anywhere, same as nivea products.

Bearing that in mind I would be wary of bringing over any 'branded' goods that you might think would be a real treat for them, and later find out that they wouldn't bother to buy themselves.

Not saying they will sneer at you in disgust, but you might be a bit embarrassed when you go their bathroom and see a stack of Dove and Nivea products. :o

To be on the safe side I would try to find presents that are typically Canadian and not easily available outside of Canada. When you are out shopping think about what you might bring to a similar meeting were your BF and his family from Europe. You might get a better result from it. :D

  6. So in the end you didn't buy this decent priced bit of land you wanted. Cut your nose off to spite your face didn't you?

And I realise you was say 'principles' which I do fully understand, but the reality is you lost out didn't you?

  7. The folks who would knowingly charge a large premium to another foreigner or wealthy Thai really disappoint me. It speaks volumes about the character of some of the people here.

To sell something below market to a family member, or to a charity case is fine, but to add a 'perceived wealth' surcharge is opportunistic and disgusting.

Is the wealth so wrongly perceived though?

Were the OP to not know the original price he might very well have happily gone ahead with the purchase.

  8. Mo chit's a nightmare at songkran, an absolute nightmare. You'll be very, very lucky if you find a bus to get on. And with the bikes as well.... :o

If you are considering a flight, you'd better book now, though I imagine they are sold out too.

I think you have better chance of finding a spare travel ticket to get there if you use transport that the Thai's don't use.

Have you considered taking a tourist bus from khao san or sukhumvit or some such place?
