There are alot of disenfranchised Americans. No doubt about that. But the black folks have it the worst. There is still rampant racism in the US and it is nowhere near a level playing field.

What is the most glaring in all this is that massive amounts of white people showed up and demonstrated recently over the shutdown. No problem. They were welcomed by the cops. But, when people of color demonstrate they are all labeled rioters and terrorists. Granted there was some rioting. But most were peaceful, at least until the cops started bashing them and gassing them. Based on his recent language, how can we fairly describe the leader of the "free world"? Vicious dogs. The best armed military is coming after you!

the people I have seen creating the most destruction and fomenting the most fear and conflict were young White men, though some females too. Twitterwill give you a much better idea of what's going on than the mainstream news will. It may be that the revolution IS being televized.

It was done before, in 1992 during the Rodney King Riots. Worked like a charm.

If the governors can't keep the vandals under control clearly somebody has to.

You can't let these people destroy cities with impunity.

Let's see how well the Antifa tactics work against the latest US military hardware.

C'mon man, get a grip, These are your fellow countrymen. They're probably only a little more/less wrong than you are. That's not to say either one of you are right. What you want is a cohesive society for the benefit of all.

You have a sociopath in the White House who boasts of grabbing women, defrauding contractors ( good business ), spreading blatant lies on social media, and disrespecting anyone who disagrees with him. Pardons felons. He is not scum?

Oh, he is surely scum. I didn't mean to give the impression that he isn't. I see him and Biden similarly, although Trump is more useful in moving the country forward, once we dispense with him with someone who isn't a DNC corporate sponsored retread.

There's a book called "Black Like Me", by John Howard Griffin. It's the real-life account of a white man who darkened his skin to pass for black, then went traveling through various areas of America. Read it, and you'll get an answer to your question.

There's an irony that has kept educated blacks amused for decades. Some of the most racist and hate-filled white people actually have an ancestor who passed for white one or two centuries ago.

    Read it in 7th grade.

I see you've kicked off your election campaigning in earnest. You and the Democrats are savouring the pandemic and the rioting, hoping that finally Trump will fall. There's only one problem with that fantasy. You need someone with half a brain to replace him. That's the way you win an election. Not by praying for someone's demise, but putting up a good candidate with good ideas to beat him.

I suggest you stock up on tissues for November to last 4 years, after you lose yet again.

In Trump years there's about 900 months before the election.

You couldn't be more wrong. If you really believe that, then you're part of the problem.

I encourage you to look at some poverty statistics in America. While it may be true that African Americans, per capita are more impoverished, it is not even close to true that they are the  most impoverished Americans. That of course is an entirely seperate issue to their unjust treatment by the police/justice system.

  7. Here's why nobody should be hitching their wagon to Trump. Faced with a crime, not of his making, and a justice system steered toward authorities not under his jurisdiction, he should have condemned them from the first minute. No skin off his nose. Even most of his base might see that.

Joe Biden, sexual assaulter though he is, knows at least to call out sexual assault as long as it doesn't lead back to himself.

    Some might.

    Mine didn't.

I've never met a white person that mentioned theirs did.

In any case black parents really need to because its a fact that black people are stopped more often, searched more often, and murdered more often by the police.

That is true because police hassle Black folks  more than they do White folks. It is also true they are just as liable to execute a White person once in possesion as they are a Black person. It's not a racial thing so much as it is a cop thing.

Do you have the original of that quote that can be verified? At this time of high venerability it's a good idea to remember Russia's heavy use of disinformation to interfere in Western affairs.

I'm not sure that's Russian disinformation, but it might be. What you can be sure of it's that's coming, as is Chinese disinformation. You can also be sure that some of us will bite on it if it fits our narritive. Brave New World.

Because protests are the problem in Trump's view, NOT the killing of black people. Trump is NOT a rational leader and most of the world recognizes this.

That is true, but I think you're imagining Biden's response might have been better. Biden said today "You ought to shoot them in the leg instead of the heart" amongst other malaprops. Of course every thing he says has the benefit of being a reaction to the worst president has ever seen. Personally, I don't see that as cause enough to elect the second worse president America will ever see. I'd rather clean the slate.

  11. I think George Floyd's needless death provided a trigger to the riots we see, but I don't think that's the reason people are rioting. The zeitgeist is not well and people are now able to look 4.5 years into the future and see whichever way they vote it's not likely to get much better. Platitudes signifying nothing or honest hatred, that's a bad choice. Me, I'd rather conquer the enemy than invite them within. That said, I'm not voting for either of them.

Well, with 100,000+ dead Americans from the coronavirus under his failing watch, he already ought to be a shoo-in!  That kind of success, you just can't argue with...

MADA - Make Americans Dead Again

It's kind of like that year Woodstock was held in the midst of a global pandemic. I, myselfwas born in the midst of a global pandemic that happened to target infants.

That is the President's job - but he has proved unfit to hold the office at a time of national peril. Since he chose to brandish the Bible in front of the church I would like to remind him of Matthew 7:15-20

15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

That's a good argument for burning it all down, because there are no clean actors in this mess. Still, I hope we stop short of that and choose a different path. Leaders are chosen by their parties. The primaries were a sham. Give us two better leaders to choose from.
