  1. Interesting article.....

May be interesting in the next two weeks also due to something being reported briefly here....

Various sites & news but no concrete reason as yet...

They have already dumped the USD haven't they? Perhaps oil sales?

    Mon, 01 Feb 2010 01:30:44 GMT

Iran will deliver telling blow to global powers on Feb. 11' : Iranian President Mahmoud AhmadinejadIranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the nation will deliver a harsh blow to the "global arrogance" on this year's anniversary of the Islamic Revolution....

Sometimes it looks like these kinds of announcements have relevance, but really not so much. That's gonna be a bad week anyway, so it's a good time to pile on with bad news. It would be a mistake to imagine the tail is wagging the dog.

  2. I'm a little biased because my wife owns land there, but I think the prettiest place to live near Chiang Mai is in Ban Mae Ann, out past the Prem school. Samui Spa recently opened a spa there too.

    http://www.thesparesorts.net/residence-inv.../why-chiang-mai

In the city I like the area west of Wat Jed Yod. I agree with you that the nicest living is to he west of the city. In the NW especially, but also in the SW.

  3. (lannarebirth) said "If its still at 78 in 2 weeks time after consolidating/correcting, I would take that to be ST bullish. It really needs to get above its 200dma to be IT bullish IMO. "

Are you bullish now ? http://quotes.ino.com/chart/?s=NYBOT_DX&v=s

For now I am. Hopefully it can advance a bit more then pull back to a then flattened 200ma and nearer 50ma in 3-5 weeks time. If that happens it might be a good IT entry.

  4. Well it seems you called that turn quite well. As it is back up over 1100 now after visiting that range you mentioned.

Silver did very well during that correction

which was only partly a correction but caused mainly by USD strength. without any doubt Khunjake's prediction was "right on the money" but besides looking at charts one mustn't forget the bigger picture and a number of other important factors. a good example was my re-entry into USD beginning of december (details discussed with Flying) which was not based on any charts or technical analysis.

Looking back, if this was a significant low for Gold, it will have been the only one wave correction to date. The most bearish thing I see, and of which you wouldn't be aware, is that my uncle purchased a really significant amount at $1,150. That can't be good.

Turns out not to be a one wave correction after all. :D Got my uncle out with $8 loss which he is thrilled about. :)

  5. Well, since there are some experienced visa runners here. I would like to know if I can enter with a 60 tourist visa - extend it another 30 days. Then go to Laos and get a 60 day doulble entry visa that I would extend another 30 days for each entry.

Thanks for all responses in advance

    yes, yes, yes and yes.

  6. I don't really follow stocks flying, but I would say the market is in a corrective phase into February or March. Barring some global financial catastrophe I would expect the market to make another run at highs or to new highs. Later in the year I'm less optimistic.

    Another one? :)

    :D Kidding......Thanks for the outlook/opinion

Frankly the concept that people make money by examining the historic trading of a stock, stockmarket or currency is counter-intuitive. Still, although I dont understand technical analysis really, I am constantly amazed how accurate it tends to be (Lanna has pretty well called the market right on this thread) - he would have certainly beat any fundamental analyst (although the fundamental analyst would claim he makes money out of stocks rather than markets.)

The whole thing is made ludicrous by all the tech speak - you know 'this is obviously a reverse double head and shoulders'. Technical guys like to shroud it all in magic. To me, not that I know anything about it, charts show patterns of mass market psychology (which is why equity charts are extremely popular in studies of behavioral economics and used to determine the difference between rational economics/chaos theory/random walk and reality.

One day soon someone will explain explain the psychology behind market movements (apart from greed and fear) - we are all fooled by this 'elliott 5th wave' stuff because these guys dont want anyone to find out and spoil their market.

same same ! i wonder if Lanna agrees with this statement i read today :-

" What will necessarily capture the eyes of the bears is that on a log scale we failed on the 61.8% retracement line at the highs (see weekly chart), so a very bearish argument can be made that we are entering the next huge sell-off from a technical standpoint. "

p.s. do you think we should send a search party to the Whitsunday Passage to

look for zorro ! :D I am getting worried.

Technically it's a good place to take a break. Huge profits made and because it rolled into a new year a good chance to defer taxation.

Nothing has to happen because some technical condition exists but it creates opportunity and risk because probabilities are much easier to assess. I wouldn't call this much of a correction, given the advance, and there are plenty of other sectors to rotate in from to keep it propped for awhile. Gold for instance. I would be watching market internal like advance / declines and new 52 week highs/lows for clues.

  7. Quote Naam:

correct in this context is that the bank determines the collateral value of assets you hold or assets you want to buy.

Not sure if I understand you correctly but from my understanding, it are housing agents (sorry not sure how to call them) that determine the price of real estate for example by looking at prices that houses have been sold in the same area and general condition of the house and any special features it has now or in the future.

    :)

Dr. Namm is not talking about houses Alex. House valuations are done through appraisal by appraisers.

  8. I've got a place in Mae Rim out past Prem. Just called my worker there and said he had a nice bit of rain. I told him to prepare for more over the next couple of days as the forecast says Tuesday should have quite a bit (seasonally). Nice job George. Your forecasting service is proving accurate so far.

  9. I suspect it may also have something to do with your ISP? Meaning you could access YouTube (the main site) but not the YouTube cache servers. Not being able to access the cache servers could very well be the reason why you're unable to view videos.

I've been watching videos on YouTube for the past hour or so without any problems.

Thanks, hadn't thought of that. I'll contact them tomorrow. Really appreciate your help and advice.

  10. Can you view Flash content on other sites? Click here to run a quick test. (see also: Troubleshoot Flash Player)

When you re-install Flash using the stand-alone installer, make sure all browser windows are closed.

Also scan your computer for malware, if you haven't already done so.

^ This may seem a bit far-fetched, but you never know what might be lurking in the shadows... Better to be safe than sorry.

Yes, I could see the flash video at that site and I did run a malware program and anti-virus and I did the troubleshooting site but saw nothing tht addressed my problem specifically. I'm beginning to think it's a YouTube specific problem. Thanks so much for your time and effort.

  11. Here's my issue now. It says they're installed by I don't see any file size next to it like every other piece of software so I don't think it installed even though it says it did. Frustrating. Will try again tomorrow. I think I'm close now thanks to the help provided here. Thank You very much.

It's installed alright... I have the same thing (no file size):

Ok, so now I'm really perplexed. Here's what I see on a ThaiVisa post with an embedded YouTube clip:

    post-25601-1264272664_thumb.png

  12. Something funny about the ThaiVisa icon in my tabbed browser too. It's flashing all the time and started about the same time this Youtube issue came about.

The ThaiVisa "favicon" flickering also happens to me as well whilst using IE7. I don't have any problems viewing YouTube videos though.

Try uninstalling Flash Player through the Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. You may see two entries; uninstall both.

Then download and re-install using the stand-alone installers below:

Download Adobe Flash Player for Internet Explorer

Download Adobe Flash Player for other browsers (Firefox, Safari, Opera)

I did that too, thank you. Here's my issue now. It says they're installed by I don't see any file size next to it like every other piece of software so I don't think it installed even though it says it did. Frustrating. Will try again tomorrow. I think I'm close now thanks to the help provided here. Thank You very much.

  13. Happened to me too, same problem. I tried to download new flash player, still didnt work. I went to my local Com Guy, he sorted in 2 minutes. the problem is a virus in cookies, he just deleted all cookies and temp files. Works now

Well, that was one of the problems, thank you very much. I can now bring up the Youtube site instantly and everything there appears normal, except I can't load any videos. I get an "error occured try again later" response. I now expect it's flash player. But thank you, that was progress.
