Who was Renee Good?
It's hard..... so to speak.

Who was Renee Good?
I think part of the attraction of the protest is the chance of "getting physical". Either from a simp at the protest, or getting manhandled by a big strong guy in a uniform. Wannabe "cougars" who are sorely starved of attention, both emotional and physical.

Who was Renee Good?
I just heard an interesting acronym lately- AWFL: "Affluent White Female Liberal" Seems to describe so many protesters to a "t". Very arrogant, feel invulnerable to criticism or arrest, super entitled, treat protesting as a bizarre ritual. Lately, even taking their children with them to use as shields against law enforcement. I guess they have floated through most of their lives without ever being told "no". Assuming that their gender protects them from consequence. You can even see it at these protests- the 'men' often thrust the women to the front of the line, believing that they will not be arrested or confronted. And the screeching outrage when they finally meet justice....

Who was Renee Good?
Imagine yourself in this scenario; a/ you are parked perpendicular to the road, across the lanes. b/ a law enforcement officer approaches your car. You roll down the window and converse with him. c/ you are not scared d/ the officer gives a legal order for you to get out of the car. You refuse. e/ see above f/ see above g/ You choose to reverse the car, almost knocking down the officer at the window. Then put it in Drive and attempt to escape. h/ FAFO Trans, do you really think legal commands from law enforcement are optional? That you can simply choose to ignore them? Or that there will be zero consequences if you choose to ignore them?

I think you mean, "illegally evade law enforcement"...

Who was Renee Good?
Considering all three shots were fired within about 1 second, and that Agent Ross did not draw his weapon until Good's car started moving, it is going to be a tough case to make. What he said afterwards really doesn't matter.

Who was Renee Good?
Agreed. But.... if the officer was legitimately concerned for his own safety, or that of others, then that mitigates the accusation of "cold blooded murder". Unless you are a mind reader, you cannot make that judgement. And if he did not follow his training or the standards of his organization, that will be dealt with appropriately.

Who was Renee Good?
True. And none of those were present. She was obviously not in fear, the officers were in uniform so no ID was necessary, they did have jurisdiction, and the orders were clear, and given 4 times. Which is why I always say that she did not obey a legal order.

Oil men tell trump to pound sand
But oil and gas WILL be needed. And not just for vehicles. Think of how much power all the new and proposed Data Centers will need to run AI, ChatGPT, and so on. They already account for nearly 5% of American electricity usage, and that number will skyrocket.

Resisting arrest and attempting to flee arrest are crimes in any jurisdiction. When given a lawful order to get out of a vehicle, you get out of your vehicle. It is not the time for debate, or worse, escape. And "her friend" shouting "DRIVE BABY DRIVE!!" was hardly mild banter. The agent's actions will be judged both criminally and professionally.

Who was Renee Good?
Absolutely there should be an investigation into the shooting, as there is in ALL law enforcement shootings. If it turns out he broke policy and so on, he should be punished accordingly. But this is different from a criminal case.

Who was Renee Good?
Yes, we saw it because the view was from the side of the car, not the front where he was standing. The whole "fleeing soccer mom" narrative has been disproven so many times I am sad that you still cling to it. Renee was not surprised by the ICE agents, she was expecting them. The fact that he was masked means nothing. Renee was not scared. She welcomed the contact because it made the video her wife was making more interesting. Bottom line, she interfered with law enforcement, resisted arrest, did not obey lawful orders, and tried to escape justice.

Who was Renee Good?
He could not see or know that. As discussed above, in case you missed it. Oh, and she hit him too. As discussed above...

Who was Renee Good?
We DO know she was actively disruptiong and interfering. Other members of her group have admitted as such, that she was leading a group of anti ICE protestors in vehicles. Also we know, from video footage, that she deliberately parked her car across the lanes of traffic on that road for at least 3 minutes, honking her horn all the while to warn others that ICE was in the area. She knew what she was doing was illegal but didn't care. That is why she refused repeated lawful commands to exit her vehicle. As to why she reversed, then accelerated? We can only speculate. Did she know that there was an agent in front of her vehicle (as you said)? Again, we can only speculate. Personally, I think some blame lies with her wife, who was yelling "drive baby drive!" at her. This may have encouraged Renee to resist arrest and attempt to flee. But again, only speculation. As for Ross, yes he was holding his camera and recording. But we do not know what he was focussed on at the time of the shooting.

Who was Renee Good?
Possibly, but you do not know that. But I DO know that you cannot see the direction of a car's tires when you are standing in front of the car. They are blocked by the hood (bonnet for the limeys in the crowd). We DO know that Good was actively engaged in disrupting and interfering in law enforcement operations. Also, she resisted arrest by refusing a lawful order (repeated several times) to exit the vehicle. She also tried to flee the scene. By doing so, she chose to take the risk that her behavior was possibly dangerous.
-
Who was Renee Good?
No, she pointed a 4,000 pound vehicle at him. And don't start with the "but the tires were pointed..." nonsense. There was no way Ross could see the tires from his position in front of the car. Plus, he would be paying attention to the driver, not the tires.

An ICE agent is a federal law enforcement officer, same as the FBI for exmaple.

"Performative Existence"- what has changed in society lately.
I know what you mean. I think governmnet especiallly needs to be documented, just to keep them honest. As long as it doesn't devolve into interference or harassment. IMHO every LEO should have a body worn camera, turned on for their entire shift, with no way to mute or turn it off. But that's just paranoid me.

"Performative Existence"- what has changed in society lately.
At risk of sounding like a boring old fart, I read the above phrase and it struck a nerve. These days, very little of life is actually lived. It is performed, recorded, judged, and so on. How many of us know people (usually female) who can't eat or drink anything before taking its picture, from multiple angles, and uploading them? Who need to document every little thing they do in life, without realizing that actually nobody cares. You can see it in the protest movements happening as well. Everyone has a smartphone out, eagerly "documenting" the scene. Shoving cameras in everyone's face, either cop or participant. Everyone is both voyeur and narcissist. Endless angry/weepy/ raging rants on Tiktok, vomiting faux emotion and betting for attention. Not sure what else to say, just my morning coffee rant.

Cellphone Footage of Renee Good Shooting
Do you have a reading disability? Seriously. Do you? I have said repeatedly that her death was a tragedy, should never have happened, and have sympathy for her son, who is now an orphan. But the issue is not sympathy or feelings. It is fact and legal accountability. Neither of which are conveniently black and white, which may confuse you, but do try to keep up. She was engaged in obstructing law enforcement for several minutes leading up to the confrontation. Her wife was egging her on, recording from outside. She disobeyed a direct and lawful order to exit her vehicle and instead tried to escape. She drove at/towards another officer. Her SUV hit him. He shot her. Anything wrong with that summary?
-
Who was Renee Good?
As yes, Jen Psaki, that noted journalist and unbiased reporter of facts. While it is interesting that the agents left, it has zero to do with the circumstances of the shooting. Now, new video has come to light that shows Renee Good sitting in the middle of the road for 3 minutes, blasting her horn, dancing in her car, and apparently having a great old time doing so. All while federal agents were attempting to perform their legal duties. Again, this shows her intent was to confront ICE, disrupt their operations, which is a crime. So she couldn't have been surprised when ICE agents approached her and legally ordered her out of the car. Instead, she added to her crimes by attempting to flee arrest by driving away. Which led to the tragic shooting.

Who was Renee Good?
Again the narrative changes. At first, he was not hit by the car. Now, maybe he WAS hit by the car, but wasn't injured, so it doesn't count. And also "b-b-but Trump!" for good measure.

Cellphone Footage of Renee Good Shooting
Maybe so, but.... the Good's COULDN'T leave. Not legallly. Mrs Good (1) had been given a lawful order to get out of the car, four times. She had been sitting in the middle of the road for 3 minutes, blaring her car horn all the while. Mrs Good (2) had gotten out to film the encounter they were trying to instigate. So, after sitting for so long, being approached by law enforcement, and ordered to exit, NOW she suddenly wants to leave? Sorry, the law doesn't work that way. As for the Ice agent, he didn't draw his gun until the car started moving. There was no premeditation.

...or he is angry because in his eyes, she tried to run him over and kill him? Both are equally plausible.

Cellphone Footage of Renee Good Shooting
s As has been said many times, that really doesn't matter. Her intention ,direction, where the wheels were pointing, are all pretty much irrelevant in assessing whether or not the ICE agent is guilty of any crime. What is important, is his state of mind and what he honestly believed at the time of the shooting. IF he truly felt himself in danger, then the shooting was not criminal. It may still be against policy and he may be liable to administrative penalty, but not criminal. So all the Monday morning quarterbacking about the angle of the car, how fast it was going, where his left foot was pointed, whether he dropped the camera, where the bullets were fired from, all mean nothing in any criminal proceeding.
