As usual, the OP conflates legal immigration and illegal. No surprise, happens all the time. The President has no problem with legal immigration. Just look at the numbers from his first term- the number of people naturalizing to become US citizens was steady. And......most of them aren't white! Ooooh, so there goes the whole "Bad Orange Man is racist!" shibboleth. Two things can happen at the same time. Illegals can be deported. AND immigration laws can be updated. But there is no need to let people stay who broke the law.

Yet... Americans DO all the jobs you mentioned. About 36% of crop workers in ag are undocumented. That means more than 60% are American citizens or legal residents. Meat processing is about 25% illegals. Restaurant workers 10-20%, about 25% in landscaping and gardening. So where ARE the jobs that "American's won't do"? They are already doing all those, and more. You have a very low opinion of American workers. The big issue is pay. Americans cannot or will not compete in a race to the bottom in wages with illegal immigrants. Remove the illegals, the pay will go up, and legal residents will do the work. Or, in many industries, automation will take over. Either way, no need for the underclass.

UK Aid Budget Strained as Asylum Hotel Costs Surge Amidst Overseas Cuts

No need to invade to stop the boats. How about just turning them back? Or tow them back? Then let the Pierres deal with them. -
Typical racism of the left. They see immigrants only as borderline slaves/indentured servants. "Who's gonna cut my grass? Who's gonna clean my toilets?" Well, I have some news for you. There is NO job in America that is done by illegal immigrants exclusively. Every job in America is majority done by citizens and legal residents. Other countries in the world seem to work just fine without importing a permanent underclass. And so can America.

USA Gavin Newsom’s Stand Against Trump Revives His Presidential Hopes
Hanaguma replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I laugh when I hear punks like the "La Raza" people beak off about California really belonging to Mexico. They need to study a bit of history. Cali was part of Mexico for about 15 minutes. Before that, it was Spanish for 300 years, but I imagine that giving it back to Spain is a non starter... -
California Dem Senator just chaotically disrupts a DHS presser…
Hanaguma replied to riclag's topic in Political Soapbox
The didn't know he was a Senator, he was not wearing his ID or security badge. This was not an event that allowed questions. It was inappropriate to barge in and try to steal the attention from the Secretary. He WAS violent, he tried to push past the Secret Service. Did you not see that? You do NOT lay a single finger on a law enforcement official, no matter who you are. -
California Dem Senator just chaotically disrupts a DHS presser…

You missed the part where Padilla shouted, ignored requests for him to leave, and physically tried to push past the Secret Service to get closer to a Cabinet Secretary?!? What were they supposed to do, let him walk right up and start punching? They had no idea who he was, only that he was a pretty large dude and being aggressive in a press briefing. Her security detail did exactly the right thing. Even had Padilla properly identified himself as a Senator, he would not have been allowed to behave the way he did. But he did not. As far as security was concerned, he was a threat. He is lucky he did not get tased, or worse. -

Really? So it is OK for some unknown dude to barge into a press conference of a US CABINET MEMBER, start shouting, and try to push past the Secret Service? The a-hole is lucky to be still breathing. He was seen as a potential threat. He did not have his Senate security badge or pass. He was asked to leave, refused, started to raise his voice, and tried to move towards the Secretary. At that point, he was a threat and was escorted out. This was NOT a Q andA session. He could have waited patiently, like a man, until it was over and then asked to speak to Secretary Noem. The fact that he could not contain himself maturely says a lot about his character. -
USA Gavin Newsom’s Stand Against Trump Revives His Presidential Hopes

They like the idea of power and the feeling of lording it over their inferiors, but the day to day work is beneath them. Mayor Bass in LA is just the same. I guess she thought the job of mayor was purely publicity- go to parties, smile, get adoration. But the actual job of running a large city and caring for the people who live there? No thank you. And think back just a few years ago- she was on the short list to be Joe Biden's VP candidate! California is very good at producing these inept do-nothings. -
USA Gavin Newsom’s Stand Against Trump Revives His Presidential Hopes
Hanaguma replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Gavin spends too much time messaging and not enough time governing. His dismal performance (being on the wrong side of so many issues) will scupper whatever Presidential hopes he may have held. If you want to see his governing skill, look no further than the California high speed rail project.- 151 replies

There was NO looting!. Perhaps a little bit of undocmented shopping, but NO looting. And they NEEDED to burn those cars to keep warm at night. LA has notorious evening temperatures. Plus the Waymos that were burned were eco-friendly vehicles, so no harm to the environmen there...

THat is a good question, not sure about the answer. When I was in the Armed Forces in Canada, one of the duties we were trained for was called "aid to civil power". This covered everything from helping in natural disasters to civil unrest. In practical terms, it meant helping old people shovel out their driveways after blizzards.... but we DID get trained in how to operate in urban areas during civil disorder. As for the US Army and National Guard, YMMV.
-
Actually it was a raid on a business whose owner was doing money laundering and tax evasion. Then the riots bagan- suspiciously well organized and well equipped. Which in turned threatened federal workers and facilities, necessitating the National Guard. If the LARPing lefties had just left law enforcement alone to do their legal duties, none of this would have happened.
-
The "whaddabout" is strong on this thread. Can we agree that rioting is bad, no matter who does it? And move on to the topic... Which is Governor N's gaslighting. IF the local police could protect federal facilities and federal employees, there would be no need for federal troops. But he can't or won't. Or would you rather see federal buildings burned down and employees hurt/killed? All in the name of 'peaceful protest' of course...
-
A lot of the violence is caused by the stupid concept of sanctuary cities or states. If the local police contacted ICE when they arrested a scumbag without a visa, it would be an easy matter to hold him until he could be transferred to the feds and deported. BUT, if they release him, then ICE is forced to look for him at work, at home, etc. WHich causes more disruption and chaos. Also results in more arrests, because scumbag illegals often hang out with other illegals. Plus lets many of them flee, only to reoffend. Great strategy, Governor.

Trump's crackdown on LA protests is pure hypocrisy
Hanaguma replied to TheAppletons's topic in Political Soapbox
You are right that it was planned. ICE was enforcing arrest warrants. Since LA is a sanctuary city, they have to be creative. So going to a workplace like Home Depot to arrest a felony warrant deviant is only natural. Same thing happened in Houston, and it netted nearly 100 assorted molesters, rapists, gang bangers, etc. Troops were on teh street because local cops couldnt protect federal facilities. Now, look at the results. Calm LA. -

Hanaguma replied to TheAppletons's topic in Political Soapbox
The basics I heard was that local law enforcement could not guarantee security of federal buildings in LA. They were called and took 2 hours to respond, even though it is a 10 minute walk from police HQ. So federal troops will provide security for federal buildings and employees. The police can deal with the rioters and criminals. In theory. -

Hanaguma replied to TheAppletons's topic in Political Soapbox
Not to mention, ICE wasn't just cruising the streets of LA looking for brown people to harass. They were executing criminal warrants on specific individuals. People charged with crimes from rape to murder to child abuse. So if THESE are the types of "migrants" that California's left wants to keep in the country, they are welcome to them. Also, the protesters who engaged in violence need to be caught and prosecuted. Especially the idiots who stood on highway medians and threw CONCRETE BLOCKS at passing cars. That is tantamount to attempted murder of a law enforcement officer. They need to be put away for a loooooooong time. -
