  1. Stealing personal information and/or using a false ID to obtain employment or government benefits is a FELONY. Driving without a license or insurance are both crimes as well. So nice try to downplay the seriousness of the situation.
  2. Yes. And hopefully the people arrested in the raid will be punished for their crimes. Fair enough?
  3. ...and if illegals were removed, wages would rise and people could get by on one job. How wonderful does that sound?
  4. But in reality, a majority of Americans want ALL illigal immigrants deported. Of course the violent ones get priority, but that does not mean that the others get ignored. This place seems to be a hotbed of activity- more than half the workers were illegal. This is far above the national average. Or should ICE just ignore this?
  5. Looks like a lot of identity theft was going on. It is one of the ways that people avoid E-Verify- they use fake and/or stolen personal information like Social Security numbers. And that is.... a crime. And a violation of federal law. If they are driving they are driving illegallly, possibly uninsured, and definitely a hazard to others. If they are knowingly harboring an illegal alien, that is a crime too.
  6. Me too. I am amazed at how so many people on this forum have such a low opinion of American workers. Also a low opinion of migrants, assuming that the only thing they can do is the scut jobs that "real" Americans are too good for.
  7. There are millions of American citizens who speak Spanish. Or do you think they are all "wetbacks"? Plus, as I said, at the least they will be legal residents, which is the same thing as far as the labour market is concerned.
  8. Chances are they knew the conditions prior to applying- most jobs are transparent about that. And if not, then the place has to start paying its workers better. What's wrong with that? I thought the point was to have well-paying jobs for the good of the economy, not virtual indentured servitude....
  9. What makes you think they aren't American, or at the least legal residents? That is a tinge racist, don't you think? In general, about a quarter of the workforce in meat packing are illegals. This particular plant had an overabundance, perhaps that is why it was picked for attention by ICE.
  10. Of course. Lots of juicy details were left out. Like separating legal from illegal residents, discussing how the E-Verify system is such a mess, etc. But the bottom line is that the jobs will be filled. As will virtually any job done by an illegal immigrant.
  11. Nah, he wants to watch the USAF bomb the sh!t out of the Mad Mullahs live, with his own popcorn, on a big screen TV. Anyway, what is Vlad doing at the G7 anyway? Going to be panhandling as usual, wearing his ratty green t-shirt?
  12. According to NBC news, there was a major ICE raid at a meat packing plant in Omaha Nebraska. About half the workers were found to be in the US illegally, using forged or stolen documents like SSN numbers, etc. All were taken into custody. And then? Within a day, the place was FULL of people applying for jobs. It is a simple fact that a shortage of labour is good for workers. They can get better pay, better conditions, etc. And there are enough legal residents in the US to do what needs doing. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/omaha-immigration-workplace-raid-aftermath-rcna212931
  13. Thank you for proving my point. Americans WILL do this kind of honest work, as your statistics suggest.
  14. "It appears..." means nothing. The fact is that Americans ALREADY work in factories, work shifts, work on farms. In ALL of those jobs, the majority of workers are American and legal residents. You have a very low opinion of Americans if you think they are not willing to work hard for an honest paycheque. And are racist if you think the solution is perpetually importing "migrants" to do the scut work.
  15. Labour costs for food/vegetables are generally about 30% of the cost of production. So, about 15% of the cost of retail- production cost plus transport etc. Imagine labour costs increase by half as a result of paying people more. That would mean about an 8% hike in the price of food that is labour intensive. Hardly "a lot more". And that only on food items that are being producedpartially by illegal migrant labour.
  16. Of course, there is no problem with that. IMHO people will pay more for their goods, if that is the price of a safer country. Plus, it is rather mean to keep a permanent underclass of low paid illegal workers, just to keep prices down. Are you so heartless?
  17. Thank you for not responding to my post. Anyway, your link said the first thing that prevents Americans from doing those jobs is the salary. And guess what causes salaries to be low? The presence of illegal workers who are willing to work at depressed wages. Remove them from the labour pool and employers will be forced to pay higher wages to attract legal residents and citizens. What is wrong with that? American workers get better pay, illegals get shipped out. Win/win.
  18. And you would know this.... how exactly? There is no such thing as a "job that Americans won't do". That is a racist trope that needs to be discarded. Americans do EVERY job in America. There is no job in America that is majority illegal immigrant.
  19. If only.... A shooting was reported at the No Kings Rally in SLC. Fortunately, the victim survived and the police have someone in custody.
  20. Personally, I don't care his politics and motivations. Just hope the surviving victims recover fully, and if he is indeed the criminal, a short walk to a hangman's noose for him. Perhaps unrelated news, a shooting was reported at the No Kings rally in Salt Lake City.
  21. Is he? Funny then, I don't know the reason for the riots in LA and other places last week. But seriously, it will take a while to catch and deport everyone. The ICE folks are concentrating on getting rid of scumbags first, which will take time and effort.
  22. As usual, the OP conflates legal immigration and illegal. No surprise, happens all the time. The President has no problem with legal immigration. Just look at the numbers from his first term- the number of people naturalizing to become US citizens was steady. And......most of them aren't white! Ooooh, so there goes the whole "Bad Orange Man is racist!" shibboleth. Two things can happen at the same time. Illegals can be deported. AND immigration laws can be updated. But there is no need to let people stay who broke the law.
  23. Yet... Americans DO all the jobs you mentioned. About 36% of crop workers in ag are undocumented. That means more than 60% are American citizens or legal residents. Meat processing is about 25% illegals. Restaurant workers 10-20%, about 25% in landscaping and gardening. So where ARE the jobs that "American's won't do"? They are already doing all those, and more. You have a very low opinion of American workers. The big issue is pay. Americans cannot or will not compete in a race to the bottom in wages with illegal immigrants. Remove the illegals, the pay will go up, and legal residents will do the work. Or, in many industries, automation will take over. Either way, no need for the underclass.
  24. No need to invade to stop the boats. How about just turning them back? Or tow them back? Then let the Pierres deal with them.
  25. Typical racism of the left. They see immigrants only as borderline slaves/indentured servants. "Who's gonna cut my grass? Who's gonna clean my toilets?" Well, I have some news for you. There is NO job in America that is done by illegal immigrants exclusively. Every job in America is majority done by citizens and legal residents. Other countries in the world seem to work just fine without importing a permanent underclass. And so can America.
