Leaving with a child born in Thailand
You just bring the child's Thai birth certificate to the airport and the passport control officer makes a note in the child's passport.

Barclays Bank to close UK accounts for British expats
Most have already been mentioned in the thread (HSBC, Santander, Revolut). I bank with Lloyds and they are fully aware I've been living and working in Thailand since 2005, although I do still have a UK address for correspondence.

Forgot to 90 day report. 9 days overdue. What happens now?
That's separate and has nothing to do with 90-day reporting.

Barclays Bank to close UK accounts for British expats
Plenty of other UK banks to choose from.

90 Day Count Verification
The fine is 2,000 baht (maximum 5,000 but to my knowledge this has never been applied) whether you report one day late or a year late.

Barclays Bank to close UK accounts for British expats
The article is just about Barclays. Doesn't seem to affect other UK banks, or there'd be threads on the Forum about it!

Barclays Bank to close UK accounts for British expats
I never even realised I could use my Thai address for my UK Lloyds bank account! I've always used a family member's address for correspondence.

TM30 - New website address for filing notifications and registration
You don't need to do anything until you need to do a new TM30. It doesn't have to be done online either, it can be done in person as before.

Barclays to close UK accounts of all British expats . . . .
I provided the address suggested by my UK bank manager. Of course, this was over 5 years ago now, so Lloyds may change their policy to be like Barclays. My UK account is active on a monthly basis, as I use it online to pay for many things here in Thailand, and regularly transfer money.

Barclays to close UK accounts of all British expats . . . .
I'm a teacher in Thailand. As soon as I stop teaching and my work permit finishes, I may have to return home to the UK. My sister's address is where I will live when (if) I return home, until I find somewhere for myself. So, it's not a "false" address.

Barclays to close UK accounts of all British expats . . . .
It's not false address, it's a close family member's. I can only speak for banking, but it's what my UK bank manager. advised me to do.

US president congratulates Srettha on assuming office as Thailand’s prime minister
Not really, he's an elected MP and was elected PM by the parliament/senate. That's how it works, just like in the UK.

Barclays to close UK accounts of all British expats . . . .
I was told, face-to-face, by my Lloyds Bank manager when I met with him last time I was in the UK visiting friends, that as long as the bank has a UK address for correspondence it would make no difference where was living.

Barclays to close UK accounts of all British expats . . . .
Always a good idea to keep a UK address (family member, friend) for your UK bank.

Agent didn't do a pre exisiting damage report
If you've only been there a week, just take dated photos of all the marks/damage and send them to the agent/owner so that it's all on record.

You sold everything!
Been living and working in Thailand since 2005.

You sold everything!
Yes, sold my London apartment after 2 years of a nightmare renting it out. Now, nothing back home and no family either. I "own" a house in rural Laos in my wife's village, but none of us fancy living there yet (or ever, for me) and living there legally for myself and my British son won't be easy, as my marriage isn't recognised in Laos. None of us are Thai, so although our future is here for the next few years (hopefully decades), it might not be easy.

Brexit: UK could rejoin EU as an ‘associate member’
The black passport is horrible; hopefully we'll get our burgundy one back soon.

What UK Visa For Thai GF?
Presumably your daughter has a UK passport? All UK Visitor visas are for 6 months. However, she'll need to indicate how long she plans to stay in the UK on the application, and assuming she has a job back in Thailand, she'll need to show how she can be away for that long. She (or you) will also need to show you have the funds for a 6-month stay. There is no requirement to be married, although if you're sponsoring her you'll need to provide evidence that you have a genuine relationship.

Another TM30 question
Thanks. Good advice.

Another TM30 question
Hopefully to satisfy Immigration's requirement to show a Bangkok address. So, can the hotel produce one?
-
Another TM30 question
If I check into a hotel, a TM30 is filed by the hotel, presumably overnight? Can I request a copy/screenshot of the TM30 report on checking out the next day, in order to show Immigration later that day?
