  1. Yeah, I love the Spanish temperament. But forcibly grabbing and kissing someone like he did deserves sanction. If he'd held his hand up and apologised to her immediately afterwards, it wouldn't have become such an issue.
  2. Why is it sad?
  3. It does seem like that might be an option for some larger employers.
  4. No, you have to apply at the Immigration office where the employing company is based.
  5. Bump. Does anyone have experience of working full-time for a Bangkok based organisation, while residing in a different province? When attending Immigration in Bangkok for their annual extension, what home address do they use, as apparently, it has to be in Bangkok?
  6. I have no idea, but it sounds as though she was widely admired here, admittedly not so much for her comedy. "The hospital’s online homage to Darcie included poignant images from her funeral, adorned with messages of appreciation from the individuals whose lives she had touched. Her guidance and unwavering support during their personal transitions were acknowledged with heartfelt gratitude."
  7. It's hardly "big news" - except for her fans and her colleagues in Thailand who seemed to have been very fond of her. Not really sure why those who had never heard of her, feel the need to comment so disrespectfully.
  8. Correct. Many aspects of prostitution (underage, soliciting, running a brothel) are illegal here, but not that actual act of paying for sexual services.
  9. Correct. Very similar to the UK legislation for prostitution.
  10. You might want to do a little research. Paying someone for sexual service is not illegal in Thailand, under most circumstances. If it was, most of the male Thai population and virtually every foreigner in Pattaya would be in jail!
  11. I never saw it; I live in Thailand and I don't think she performed here, although she was living here when she died.
  12. Darcie Silver was one of the most exciting new acts on the UK comedy circuit and was always a popular performer.
  13. This thread is about Gambia, not Thailand. There are already a number of exploitative threads about the situation in Thailand and the Al Jazeera video in particular.
  14. Nope, no one operating or participating in any form of child prostitution should be ignored. Not sure why you're only bothered if it's a (allegedly) a Brit involved. Perhaps if you showed a more general concern about the issue, people might take you more seriously.
  15. Wow, prostitution in Pattaya - who'd have thought! The evidence of child prostitution in Pattaya is minimal; perhaps Al Jazeera should have focused on the thousands of karaoke bars which have been raided for forced prostitution and underage girls in provincial Thailand, aimed at locals?
  16. Yesterday's man. Time for Thailand to Move Forward.
  17. Well put. I think some people live in a fantasy world when it comes to meeting women!
  18. Herpetophobia. My wife hates it, but geckos in my home die.
  19. Backstreets by Bruce Springsteen.
  20. He was a good PM, but I think his time has passed. Time to move forward.
  21. What part of @spidermike007's post makes you think he "hates" Thailand? Can't people who live here criticise the culture/people?
  22. Is it really common for tourists to marry bargirls? How do they fit it in if they're only here on holiday? It's difficult enough for expats who live here, to marry in Thailand and even more so to get their girl a visa to marry in their home country.
