  1. Presumably your daughter has a UK passport? All UK Visitor visas are for 6 months. However, she'll need to indicate how long she plans to stay in the UK on the application, and assuming she has a job back in Thailand, she'll need to show how she can be away for that long. She (or you) will also need to show you have the funds for a 6-month stay. There is no requirement to be married, although if you're sponsoring her you'll need to provide evidence that you have a genuine relationship.
  2. Hopefully to satisfy Immigration's requirement to show a Bangkok address. So, can the hotel produce one?
  3. If I check into a hotel, a TM30 is filed by the hotel, presumably overnight? Can I request a copy/screenshot of the TM30 report on checking out the next day, in order to show Immigration later that day?
  4. It's the gambling that's illegal, not the cock fighting, right?
  5. Indeed. No wonder people still get confused about what are completely different things!
  6. If by visa you mean a sticker or stamp issued by a Thai Embassy overseas, then it cannot be transferred. You just keep both passports until the visa has expired. If you actually mean an Extension of Stay ("admitted until...') stamp, issued at a point of entry into Thailand or an Immigration office in Thailand, you need to get the stamp transferred.
  7. No. There is no charge for the service. They give you the form when you get your queue ticket. I don't think it's downloadable.
  8. No, it's a legit form used at Chaengwattana too.
  9. Unsurprising results so far! My wife is 30 years younger than me and I don't, currently, have a girlfriend.
  10. I understand that you can make an appointment for a Work based extension at Chaengwattana. How far in advance can the appointment be made and is there a link for doing this online? Cheers
  11. My poor son has it doubly tough - he's 'mixed race' Lao/British but studies at a Thai school!
  12. UK passports are issued by HMPO in Liverpool. What difference does it make using the Embassy (still issued by HMPO) or the VFS office (still issued by HMPO) to check and forward the documentation to the UK?
  13. Misleadingly titled thread. What has any of this got to do with "hospitality"?
  14. Thanks. You're right. Interesting article although very dated now!
  15. And we would have to join the Euro. If Tony Blair had followed Gordon Brown's advice and we'd joined the Euro back then, none of this would have happened. Sure, Labour would have suffered politically at the time due to the UKIP and other nationalists, but it would have blown over and now we'd be seeing the benefits.
  16. The question was about bargirls aged 18+, not underage. Girls aged 18+ can work in bars.
  17. Wrong, as long as she's 18 and consenting, it's fine.
  18. VFS have an office in Phuket but you'll need to check that it can be used for UK passport renewals and that it isn't just for UK visas. Passport renewals are dealt with by HMPO while visas are dealt with by UKVI. The UK.gov website only lists two offices in Thailand for passport renewals (Bangkok and Chiang Mai), although it could be out of date! Making your application You must apply in person.
