3 hours ago, Tony M said:If only it was that simple. There will be a massive increase in the number of Thais who are refused entry into the UK on arrival there. They will be put straight onto the next flight back to Thailand. No appeal against that, and their ticket cost will be lost. Plus, as already mentioned above, there will be an increase in the trafficking of children and sex workers. It's not necessarily a positive move for Thai travellers, and there are clearly some advantages to the visa regime. That said, many people probably don't know that, even if you don't require a visa to enter the UK, as might be the case if this proposal goes through, you can still apply for one. Doing that is a sort of "pre-clearance", and it would perhaps make Thai travellers to the UK feel a little "safer" about arriving in the UK. I think that process is still available. If this proposal does go ahead, it doesn't guarantee entry to everyone or to anyone. That will depend on the Border Force Officer's decision, rather than the current Entry Clearance Officer.
Finally a rational, on topic post that is genuinely helpful, rather than all the off-topic personal posts and inflammatory comments about asylum seekers. Thanks @Tony M

I suspect this is just a wind-up thread, but if not, why would the OP want to do this?

Removing shoes signifies a gesture of politeness, cultural awareness, and respect for the local community. It's not so much about the cleanliness.
You sound like a Thai going to the UK and refusing to shake hands.
In someone's home, yes. The thread is about shops.

the shop is sick of sweeping the floor every time a customer enters .... they bring sand, dirt, gravel etc ....
so that's why they like to have no shoes inside.
I'm not sure I'd want to visit a shop where they are "sick" of cleaning the place! Must be like a pigsty inside. Surely cleanliness is essential when running a business for the public?

No DNA test required, assuming you have all the correct supporting documentation.

Great post. It is of course completely ridiculous and contradictory. But, hey, that's Thailand for you!

It's probably because you were speaking Thai so badly, that she couldn't handle it. It wouldn't have hurt you to speak in English!

If you're in your 40s/50s and want kids, it's a good idea to find a partner who is young enough to have them.

Aren't most people on this Forum with women significantly younger then them? I've always assumed it's the norm.

Why would you be so amazed if / when they allow casinos? May other countries have them, including Thailand's neighbors.
I think there's a strong likelihood of casinos in tourist areas soon. But, as in Cambodia, I'm sure there'll be off limits for locals unless they work there.

Not really just a Bangkok problem - most parts of Thailand are affected at cetain times of the year, as is most of Asia. Still, keeps social media busy.

India, China and most countries in SE Asia.

A little confusing. Are at least £16,000 in savings required in addition to the salary requirement of £29,000?

I don't believe Laos people are required to have a passport to work in Thailand.
Just a letter from immigration seems to be enough for all citizens of the neighbouring countries.
They need a passport.

How can the Norwegian Embassy hold her passport for a year! As a Laotian she needs her passport for Extensions, 90-day reports etc and for ID purposes while living in Thailand.

Accused: The Hampstead Paedophile Hoax
In 2015, two children accused parents and teachers of running a baby-eating satanic cult in a Hampstead school. The tale gripped conspiracy theorists around the world.
A horrifying documentary!

I am finding very little information about this PerfectTV online... what's their price and do they offer a tvOS (AppleTV) app? Is there a channel list available somewhere? Do they offer HD or even Full HD and potentially 50fps for sports streams?
You could try emailing them: [email protected]

Define "date". Surely, it means go out for dinner or a movie with a girl? Or in the muddled world of some BMs, does it mean have sex with a prostitute but not pay her?
