I've seen shops describe the content of edibles as: x mg (i.e. 50 mg) x g (i.e., 5 grams) x ml (i.e. 5 ml). Anyone know why they use difference units of measurement (ml vs mg). Also, how can a gummy with 50 mg be described as 'strong' when someone is selling a brownie with 5g ?

Question about Internet Simcard 1000 baht per year
JayBird replied to villageidiotY2K's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
What he may mean is that unlimited does not mean max speed. You may be limited to 512kbps. Also you may be limited by a FUP, hours, or even which internet services you can use. -
Wasn't this the norm pre-thaksin?

Any where you can go in, choose from a selection, and then spend the next couple of hours or so there (perhaps they have other food/drink items). Thank you

Aeroflot to Resume Moscow-Phuket Flights in October

If Russians can fly to Thailand, then they can connect and fly anywhere. I wonder how the West will view Thailand for enabling this. -
Aeroflot to Resume Moscow-Phuket Flights in October

The word you are looking for to describe Russia's action is: Genocide -
The argument I often hear about why one does not want to have the shot are arguments that I find hard to accept: -- 5G chips -- Made from dead babies -- Lizardmen blood -- Bill gates will monitor me -- CIA is tracking me -- It will change my DNA and I'll turn into a lizard man It's hard for me to agree with that reasoning. If they come up with more coherent arguments: -- I do not care if I get sick and make others sick -- Keeping my body pure from this vaccine is more important than helping keep the community safe -- I have medical conditions that make this dangerous for me Then I may or may not agree with their position, but at least it is a coherent reasoning that I can understand. But given that our bodies are so full of junk already, a vaccine booster is probably the cleanest thing to get put in it ????

Sadly it is most likely to stay here. We could hope to do a 'Smallpox' thing and try to erradicate it, but given the hesitancy for many to accept vaccines these days, it could be problematic. Fortunately, we should be able to manage it with the same approach we take for flu shots. Just get your regular jabs which should contain the serum for whatever is floating around that season and you should be good to go ???? Let's enjoy the fact that we live in an age where medicine is able to keep up with the rate of introduction of new viruses and mutations.

Foreign tourists flock to Patong Beach before long holidays, led by Indians
JayBird replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
There could be Arab women who are not strictly religious, so it might require closer attention than just their clothes. -
It's a vaccine booster shot. You're not being asked to climb Everest naked or eat a kilo of dung everyday. Y'all need to stop being such snowflakes and living in fear of a little needle.

Thailand to consider interim measures to prevent Covid spread
JayBird replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Lockdown? -
This does not apply to me, but I am curious: If you are an american covered by medicare/medicaid but want to retire in Thailand, is there a health plan that will cover you in Thailand that takes into consideration you are covered in the USA by Medicare/Medicaid? I believe Medicare/Medicaid does *not* cover you in Thailand (you have to return home), but is there some way to top-up the plan or get an add-on, or some sort of affiliate that offers you coverage at a discount (versus signing up fresh with a brand new company)? Thank you.

Tourism ministry dual pricing proposal for hotel rates
JayBird replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
What happens to mix race couples? There are foreigners here married to Thai. Do they pay the Thai rate, foreign rate, or in between? How does it work with apps like agoda? Will they be required to ask the nationality of the person booking then show the rates? -
Leading Thai doctors calling for mask mandate to be reinstated
JayBird replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Mask mandate will help slow the spread of the virus in the community. Not stop it, just slow it. This buys time but is not a solution in itself. What is the long term plan, and do masks make a material difference in succeeding in that plan? One would presently suggest a vigilant approach to full vaccination of the community will achieve sufficient results. I think this is where all the medical attention should be focused.
