  1. It's not required by law, but you will be fined if you don't. Especially if you are a foreigner. He's basically admitting to not having legal grounds to do what he's doing.
  2. Organs are rare. There is a waiting list. A wide variety of criteria is used to determine who gets this and lives vs the others who will die. One of the criteria is probability of survival after transplant. If person A has a 90% chance, and B has a 40% chance, it will go to A. In this case, the argument is that an unvaccinated recipient has a higher chance of dying after the procedure than a vaccinated recipient. So it makes sense to give the organ to the individual with the greater chance of survival.
  3. I did, that link works. After you use the 'contact us' email to send them an e-mail, they send you a new link to confirm you need help. The link in their automated response is the one that does not work.
  4. I sent an e-mail to ropsvc, and got an automated reply asking me to click a link. The problem is the link they sent me is to: ropservice.thaiairways.com Which is broken, therefore I can not complete the customer service ticket and get assistance. Also, they do not seem to answer on Line. Anyone else notice issues? Thank you.
  5. Thank you kindly. I must be thinking of some other government regulation that acts on the 'year of'. I'll need to remember this ????
  6. Big C has frozen stuff from France. But that's the closest I've seen.
  7. I did and can confirm my findings. Note: This is for 2 people for Day 1 and Day 5. Perhaps you thought I meant only one day?
  8. I double checked, and one needs to keep in mind: Double the cost if there are two of you. Cheapest I could find in Pattaya at a hotel I never saw, would be ~20k THB for 2 people. Not sure how many tourists want to pay a surcharge of 20k THB. (This in itself could cover the cost of a trip to KL for 4-5 days). It's obviously a 'cash grab', as no one will be using the hotel room as a hotel room. Just a very expensive waiting room till they get their results before they check-out and head to their actual destination. But all that is still minor in comparison to what happens if a result comes back positive: You (and your partner) will be sent to an ASQ/Hospital/Hospitel/whatever, where you will enjoy an extended stay (at your expense). And this could be a *LOT* of money. The real concerning bit here is, if you catch it on day 5, it could mean you caught it *IN* Thailand on Day 1. Therefore, I would recommend the following approach: 1) 10k THB/person as a 'fee' to come to Thailand. 2) Spend the first 5 days in strict quarantine at home to avoid the slightest chance of contracting enough to test positive. An option for returning expats, not very enjoyable for Tourists. This rule should be lifted before tourist season starts in October or so.
  9. Possible solution: Day 4, self test. If positive, stay at home. Say you can't go to the hotel since you need to self isolate, and going to the hotel would put others at risk.
  10. Probably smart to remove all zebra crossings. No driver pays attention, and it gives a false sense of security. Better drivers? Law enforcement? Let's be realistic ????
  11. They might be cherry picking here. Places near certain developments may go up, whereas other places are definitely going down.
  12. So, how is Chinese produce compared to Thai? Will it have less chemicals, pesticides, hormones, etc?
  13. This isn't police despotism. This is just a way for certain govt orgs to earn a little extra money. Owner needs to remember this is LOS and he has to play the game better
  14. Did it take 7 days to show up on a test, or were they truly negative on day 1, then picked it up in the sandbox on day 2.
  15. The purposes of lockdown and quarantine was to buy time to mitigate the effects of covid, be it vaccine, meds, or adequate hospital care. Until Thailand can catch up on these, they will continue with these measures or accept a high body count. They really should focus on getting in the vaccine rather than blocking it.
  16. I might be wrong here, but I thought you could apply for retirement visa on the year you turn 50, rather than the day after you turn 50. So maybe you can get retirement visa a couple of months early?
  17. It's very quiet. It is like this at this time of the year, even pre covid. There might not need be closures if there is too few customers left to stay open.
  18. It's a sad circumstance when the punishment for being positive is so high you consider hiding the fact. You can try to order stuff from 7, pay through app, and ask to leave at door as you'll be out at time of delivery.
  19. You are trying to explain something that even western Christians can't agree on. Keep it simple: Old religious holiday, where people exchange gifts as a token of their love and friendship.
  20. This might be something you have to check with the local authorities: mayor, land office, etc. It could very well be a regulation that differs from area to area. If indeed there is such a regulation. I have not heard of such a regulation as a nation wide standard.
  21. I know most (if not all) of Thailand will be covered with blankets of pollution. But I'm curious if there are any parts that have the least exposure? I was once told that the Hua Hin area was safe, due to it being near the Royal Family, but I also hear that there is plenty of burning going on there. I'm assuming Phuket is probably nicer, with the pollution coming from the Mainland rather than locally? I'm wondering if places like Phetchabun (in the mountain area), or somewhere around Khao Yai (400M+ places) might be 'safer' ? (some of these places claim to be Green/Ozone areas). My GF is super sensitive to pollution, and since it started to pick up the last few days she's been having non-stop reactions (itchiness, etc.). Rather than dose up on meds, thought: Hmm, maybe there's somewhere nicer to live ???? Thank you.
  22. You said in Buriram. If you mean downtown Buriram, near the stadium or Robinson's, then 1.2M/RAI sounds feasible. For full Red Garuda chanote. Land in that area is not cheap. If you mean out in farm area. And not Red Garuda, then that is a rip off.
  23. So you can be positive with covid, determined by testing at home, but if you are double vaxed, you can still get in?
