How many tees per rai do you have and what is palm oil going for at the dealer in your area?
The word revenue is a bit general. Right now on my wife's land with current prices and
rain fall with fertilizer you would get around 1500 baht per rai gross. But weather changes,
management techniques change, rodents and fertilization. My wife doesn't run the best
ship in town, and I am the last person to know what is happening, but the numbers are
reasonable for right now. Not yesterday or tomorrow. Don't forget someone has to pick
the fruit and get it to market. At seven you are probably through with weeding.

My wife thought that they would have to go to Bangkok for a new passport. Changwattana.
Would definitely call Songkhla before going there.
Am planning to do thai passports for my in-laws (they are from chumpon)
Dad ran around asking the nearest "amphur" & was told to go to Songkhla / had yai..!!!
Can anyone confirm if its true?? If it is then, its gonna be a hassle going all the way to
Songkhla.

I live in the south on the coast. Very bad for mobile phones and there isn't a land line. AIS put a station that gives
us a good signal. We get about 40 to 50 when it is working ok. Good for email and not too heavy web. Basic modem about
3500 baht. 200 baht for 50 hours. That's about a month for me. Pretty simple to set up. If you can get a reasonable signal from DTAC probably should go that route. The signal is supposed to be a lot better. http://edgethailand.com/ Check it out and give them a call. so not too bad. I looked at satellite and it was about 1700 per month.
OP I live north of Korat and use EDGE via my mobile phone connected by bluetooth or wire to USB port on PC. I like the wired method best because my phone gets charged at the same time. Service has been okay but download speeds do vary throughout the day depending on network capacity. My normal download speeds run in the 10 to 24 KB range with the faster speeds being in the morning.
I currently use AIS prepaid plan that cost 350 baht plus tax for 100 hours in 30 days. AIS has many different options.

I am on my way to Surat Thani to get my stamp in my pass port after going through the process and they just needed the marriage certificate and money in the bank for two months. At least two months as I was four days short and had to get a two month extension.

Built a new house in Sawi just a few klics south of Chumphon.
No land lines and don't want to pay the satellite fees. So only
cyber cafe. A pain but life is pretty good here. Good to see you.

I am looking at getting a marriage endorsement on my non-immigrant "B". Not to sure how to word this. I have all of the hand in's prepared. One question: My visa expires May 24th. How soon could I apply for my marriage extension?
Thank you kindly for any assistance.
-
Good question.
Last year when I was in Vancouve 80% of the restaurants that I saw were Korean, Thai, Chinese or Lebonese
-
Mosha Thanks for that. Is the immigration center still open in Ranong? I know what I need to get for the visa and was hoping to get everything done in March and apply the first part of April. I am in Bangkok and will be spending April in the south then go to Canada. May see you during that time.
I got my O Non Immigration changed to a family visa in Ranong. You just need proof of the correct combined income or money in the bank or a combination of the 2. I must admit though they had me going to Bangkok to obtain proof of income from the embassy. -

I want to exchange a non-immigrant "B" to a marriage visa. I guess I have to go to Bangkok or can they do that in Ranong? Thanks for the information.

KhunDtaa There are some people in Ranong. Will be moving just south of Chumphon in May.
There is group of Thaivisa people in that area. It isn't too far from Ranong

A school told me that you could get Non-immagrant "B's" done in Surat Thani.
I didn't that think you could. Is this true?
-
Thank you very much for the information. It should make it a bit easier to get set up.
Guess have to set up a weather station. Hehe

Hi All,
I will be moving south to the area between Chumphon and Lang Suan in about 3 months.
I need a satellite internet connection. Are there any recommendations? I would appreciate it
if you can give me some good references.
Take care and thanks for any comments.

There is an article in the Thai labor law document that states the provisions of Labour law do not apply for private schools. That is, teachers and headmasters at private schools only. All other staff fall under the labour law. Headmasters and Teachers must follow the guidelines of the Private School Act of 1982. I don't know what that document says about vacation, but if you work at a private school, you probably get much more than a one week holiday.

1. I can sit inside my car (sexy sound of raindrops on the roof).
2. Good oppertunity for delivery of Pizza or KFC.
3. Not many motorbikes on the road.
4. Nice to stay "warm and dry" at home.
5. Call friends in Europe to brag about temperature.
I do wish for snow, I do wish for colder weather.. Sorry just woke up now..
-
1. Air is cleaner. (Can see Koh Tao)
2. Feels more like home. West Coast Canada.
3. Plants more vibrant and plantations more productive.
4. Roads aren't dusty.
5. Get more work done inside.

'thaihedgehog'
This occurs frequently all over Thailand. Anyone teaching can give examples of a lack of gratitude for extra effort on the part of the teacher. I think sometimes an English Teacher is a necessary evil to teach the students English. It can be frustrating and you want to rave a bit, but in the end you should do as the good Buddha does and just chalk it up as another of life's experiences.

We are building a house between Chumphon and Suan Luan. We will be going to Surat Thani next week to look for some building materials and furniture. Compare prices and availability with Bangkok and Chumphon. Would appreciate some advice as to whether there are some good place to look at and buy in Surat Thani
Thanks,

Flowers need protection from direct sunlight and keep the humidy up. Some vegetables do better with this attention also.

'RUGBYPAUL2'
Not bad comments. The history of oil palm and rubber seems to be that they each have ups and downs. I think you have to make a decision and go with it. Both will do well in the long term for different reasons. If you look over your shoulder you won't do a good job at either. If rubber is down it will probably bounce back. hehe

I did a murder mystery party in Canada. A group of lawyers screwed it up
because they couldn't be honest enough in using the script. It's funny in retrospect.
