You are correct that you must present yourself at immigration to renew your extension. They even make people wheel in sick, half-dead retirees to complete their extension.

Masks aren't about thickness. They're about not letting through fine particles of dust and yes.. viruses. Any manufacturer of face masks that tries to promote their brand as if they're trying to sell ass wipes I'll happily let pass.
Europe already discarded millions of Chinese face masks because they weren't any good. That and the false sense of safety that any mask provides and possibly even higher risks of contracting this virus because of all the fiddling and face touching keep me from using them. I had to make an exception when entering the local immigration building. Unfortunately I didn't have a choice. Today local Tesco Lotus Express markets started imposing the use of face masks on customers. I now go straight to 7-eleven right across the street.
Why Asia doesn't follow WHO guidelines for face masks is beyond me. I've come to accept all the peculiarities of Asia but this mask obsession still gets me..

A big thanks to China, for unleashing this pandemic on the world. And special mention to the WHO for dutifully aiding in the delayed reaction...
...yes Mr. China whom passes himself of as a World Super Power can't even get it right with basic food processing allowing this virus to grow, then study it, then find it has got out of control...whom holds them responsible..it would make an interesting class action for compensation...RIP all those who have succumbed to this terrible thing which is only in its infancy.

Wishful thinking....There'll be a lot more than 3000.
...i agree..what a clever klutz he is, being able to multiply 30 x 100 and get 3,000..but he forgot to add on the 1,000..and then they probably left of two more zeroes at the end.

I am not so sure that International law can prohibit a National of any country returning to his home country.
What they do with them once arrived is a different story.
The "fit to fly" letter was a Thai Airlines thing ?
I do not believe all the illegal returnees from S korea had the letter.
I noticed that in KL they had Doctors at both airports checking & issuing the letters.
You cannot get much more up to date than that
...all too late..silly ole Thailand.

It's great in retrospect to be able to see the sense in shutting the stable door, while you still have a horse, though he is simply uttering what many of us have been saying for nearly two months now, that Thailand should have had a strict immigration procedure in place a long time ago. Keeping the arms open in welcome for so long to save tourism numbers, was bound to have consequences sooner or later.
I didn't see any scientific evidence above to back up his claim this is a different strain, so hope he has that at least partially wrong.
...he may be a Physician, but that doesn't make him a Virologist and what he says is in contradiction the W.H.Os top world Virologists..for what its worth.

Not to mention the generations and culture of daily market shopping, not big freezers or refrigerators, so common to eat out instead of cook, etc.
..exactly right.
Yesterday (Sunday) here at the Sankamphaeng food market there were at least 400 people there buying all manner of food, meats, seafood, fresh fruit/vegetables, not so fresh fruit/vegetables and packaged goods, clothing etc. Hardly anyone had a mask on, and it was quite crammed in places..wouldn't you have thought some control over the amount of people allowed in at any one time..there were no gates/barricades, no local officials, no-one to check temperatures..total ignorance and recklessness of a serious situation which originated and spread under similar conditions in Wuhan..

I bought 40 chloroquinine for 80 baht, there is quite a lot of evidence from China, Japan and Australia that it is effective, not all Doctors are up to date. Nobody claims it prevents or cures, it interferes with virus replication and shortens the illness. I thought it was over the counter medicine in the UK?
