Perhaps that is what he is aiming to do

It's all part of the grand scheme to control the masses.
I'm sure Anutin gets a cut even for every facemask sold

They didn't specify but the response from many people posting in Pattaya were paying from 300, surprisingly a lot paying 500.
If it was optional I don't think anyone would mind
The old chestnut about compulsory caddies, then the obligatory tip to someone you didn't even want to have in the first place.
A tip is usually offered as appreciation for good service, which is not always the case with some caddies

On Facebook apparently caddies complaining about 300 tip, now expect 500-700 baht, so add that to the all in prices quoted
Which course / courses ?

Pointless, as the results are known weeks before the day

seems like some people of influence is making huge amounts of money from covid and want it to continue, that is the only conclusion I can come too - it has to be about money

What absolute rubbish.
Emirates are running a normal schedule to Moscow, any Russian can easily get home. As for Ukraine, that’s a different matter.
I’m appalled by the tourism industry here, especially the 5* hotels run by Western General Managers. Zero statements supporting Ukraine and condemning Russia. Organisation’s like SKAL are conspicuous by their failure to even mention the genocide and war crimes going on in Ukraine. As long as the Russians have money, they are welcome everywhere here.
Except my businesses in Chiang Rai, we’ve taken a stand and banned Russian citizens.what a complete lack of morals we are seeing in the Hotel Industry, appalling!
Are there many Russians in CR??
Thought they only went to beach areas

I've renewed my 5 year twice in Pattaya, never provided or was asked for a medical certificate.
this was my 4th renewal, previously it was 50/50 whether they wanted it.
Now it is mandatory

Is this your first 5 year license? If not you should not need a medical certificate anymore. I only needed one for my temporary license and the first 5 year license. But not to renew the 5 year license.
Pattaya require a medical certificate for renewals.
Did mine 2 weeks ago

This sounds like it's aimed at Thai and Malaysian nationals.
And foreigners would still need the Thailand Pass to enter??

I have thought about exactly what you are saying a lot, and can't figure out whether or not I am glad to be back. It almost seems to me like there has been a shift in the attitudes towards Westerners, those who were friends when I left seem genuinely glad to see me, but many of those I don't know seem wary of me or are holding me at a distance. I am interested in seeing how others answer this.
You are experiencing that Thais believe what Anutin has told them -- all foreigners are full of covid.
I am lucky if my neighbours get within 10 yards of me for fear of catching something that I don't have.
And my wife believes that all foreigners have covid full stop, and is reluctant to allow any visitors past the front gate.

1530 baht for Greenwood is well overpriced. Our group were playing there every week until high season, now we play Burapha (1100 bt all-in) and Pattavia.
Until November, rates at most courses were around 1000 bt all-in, but then "high season" cane along and rates have spiralled.
Empty car parks should tell courses that we will vote with our feet and find better value.
I am told that Emerald have now reduced their rate from 1450 to 1150 as they were empty most days. Still not the 950 we were paying until November, but a step in the right direction.

Have you been on LK Metro at night? At least 5 gogos are open, music playing, drinks being served and ladies available.
No, was down a couple of weeks ago in the afternoon and only a few bars were open.
Friends who live in the area say it's busier at night, but go-go's as they were are not open.

So when you pay the 300 baht, will you be given your insurance policy straight away ??
Or same as road fines, 300 baht with receipt or 200 baht without ?

Even pre-Covid the Strip was struggling.
The bottom half were mostly closed, the top half open but the price cartel put many off.
