Or your guage is faulty

Not while the baht is so ridiculously strong.
Even after a small shift, it still makes Thailand expensive for Europeans

Nice of the police not to charge anyone but this is also part of Thailand's road problems, was the driver tested for alcohol or drug consumption? with an accident of these proportions it should be mandatory.
Still trying to work out which of the 10 was driving

Next time take a photo of the menu and the bill. Say, let's go see the Police, I want you charged with trying to Cheat. Or better yet, pay the bill, get a receipt and then go to the police. The transaction was completed so there is no backing out, evidence is complete. Also post on the internet.
Ha ha the local bib were already eating there.
And you know what happens if you publicise a dodgy establishment

I experienced it at a small restaurant somewhere near Nakhon Nayok. All my food had been increased by 50 baht/item, when my wife queried we were told "farang surcharge"
Eventually they backed down as my wife had made the order and not me ????
Also, whenever we travel up-country, my wife will go into hotels to book, the staff look gutted when they see me walk in.

Seperate menus - Thai and English. If you don't know how likely are you to ask for the Thai version? It's not just a Phuket thing.
Many places have dual language menus with prices to match. Not only in Phuket, everywhere

Why would you want to travel 15 minutes in the wrong direction?
To get to the bus station by the market.
Most buses to Buriram don't stop for the airport
-
As Satuek is fairly remote, it may be easier to get transport into Satuek (about 15 minutes) then get a bus to Buriram,
Should be far more options there for car rental.

Sova is open. As for bars open? I don't know the answer. Some of the bars that remain really never closed as the back door was used to get in. What is legally open now? A regular bar goer will have to answer. But the few bars that are still on the strip are just that a few
Even pre-Covid the Strip was struggling.
The bottom half were mostly closed, the top half open but the price cartel put many off.

They didn't specify but the response from many people posting in Pattaya were paying from 300, surprisingly a lot paying 500.
If it was optional I don't think anyone would mind
The old chestnut about compulsory caddies, then the obligatory tip to someone you didn't even want to have in the first place.
A tip is usually offered as appreciation for good service, which is not always the case with some caddies

On Facebook apparently caddies complaining about 300 tip, now expect 500-700 baht, so add that to the all in prices quoted
