He's very luck in one sense that you happened to be driving past. And what's he doing out walking in heavy rain.
Wonder why he wouldn't go to hospital ..... ? x-rays cost 100bht ..
An x-ray at Bangkok Pattaya would cost a lot more than 100bt

Both light and heat will damage beer. For bottled beer the darker the glass the better.
Is that why Chang changed from brown bottles to green ??

"Do I have any other options? Surely they can't put me out of work because of this, but a backpacker coming for a few months to show up hungover every Monday is all good?"
The backpacker won't be on 33K

I'd guess that almost all of the Americans are returnees (two of my American friends are completing their sandboxes today and lamming out to Pattaya on today's last Nok Air flight to Utapao). If they wanted a tropical holiday, the Caribbean, Mexico, and Hawaii are much better options at the moment.
Especially as almost everything in Pattaya is closed.

10 hours ago, it is what it is said:
it's not the uk governmrnts job to vaccinate expats, if you want the vaccine it is being provided free of charge within the uk, so go home. vaccinating expats in thailand, or any other country, would be a slippery slope as all uk expats around the world would expect similair treatment, a massive undertaking. expats in thailand are not a special case.
You are well aware that the majority of expats would not be able to return to their families, as the requirements for covid insurance are way too expensive.
I have no idea how many UK expats are currently in Thailand, although Immigration should have an up to date figure.
I would expect it to be nowhere near the 415000 donated, therefore if the vaccines cannot be prioritised for UK nationals, it shows the disdain and contempt shown by the UK govt towards them.
Currently in Pattaya there is no way to get a vaccine, this was confirmed yesterday in the British Embassy Vaccine Update.
(see below)

Registration in Pattaya has been temporarily suspended.

read the whole post, a refund ( money back) due to her pre paid for moderna jabs, being cancelled.
I fear lots more prepaid moderna jabs will be cancelled
I understood your post, just surprised that she even got a refund. Usually swallowed up by admin fees etc

The virus is now widespread in Thailand. It is not going away without mass vaccination. Is it not better to let fully tested and vaccinated people in without other hurdles. They are low risk in terms of infection. They will spend significantly more than a poor unregulated refugee slipping across the border from Myanmar. Time to get real.
To properly open up Pattaya needs the workers who have returned to their homes, mainly in Isaan.
The majority of these will return without having had a vaccine in their home towns.

And the Pattaya sandbox is still on schedule for October ??

As I have suggested on previous posts all you have to do is take a taxi ride to Bang Sue station in Bangkok. Over 75 can walk in for AZ vaccine-what's the problem? And it's free. Return taxi plus waiting 2400 baht. And you get an appointment for 2nd dose. And on week-days it is not crowded.
Looked like a massive crowd on tv yesterday

Expats make up less than 10% of population.
Mayor does not need any expats vaccinated to open up if the Thais are vaccinated is how he sees it I believe
So when Pattaya is opened up to the double-vaccinated tourists, they will still let unvaccinated expats wander around with them ?
