  1. Could he advise us on the upcoming tax fiasco that will start in January ?? Still no official clarification
  2. Poor quality video. Most of it is very fuzzy can't work out who is who
  3. But not your current visa status. Hotel staff usually go straight for your latest stamp hoping to find you on overstay. 500 baht for grassing you up
  4. I thought they read this forum (or at least this part)
  5. Has the UK Embassy or Consulate arranged a meeting with Thai tax authorities to obtain some clarification regarding the new tax legislation ? It would be appreciated as we are currently in limbo. Most relevant would be regarding pensions and the double tax agreement. Does this exist ?? I would guess that well over half of expats living in Thailand have no clue or any credible information regarding this, which could become a major problem in January. Thank You
  6. The Nissan franchise in Jomtien that I have been using for a few years has sold out to the BYD electric brand, as has the on at Laem Chabang. Went to the Nissa in Naklua, a tiny place and no staff could or would speak English. So B-Quik it will be.....
  7. It is when the landlord doesn't file one
  8. Or even clarified so we know what is really going on
  9. Has anyone guessed how much in pensions has not been transferred in January alone ?? Many expats, including myself, have brought over a year's funds in one go in December, and have no intention of bringing over any more (circumstances allowing)until this tax situation is adequately explained
  10. Definitely the latter. When I last did my 90 days, the IO noticed my extension renewal is due soon, asked if I had the money in the bank. When I said yes, my passport was thrown back to me as obvious I wouldn't need an agent.
  11. It will be declared a National Park with the usual pricing stupidity
  12. If an MP resigns shouldn't there be a new election for the constituency ? He resigned for a good reason, perhaps the locals may not vote for his party ?
  13. Hope not ... that way we could also be paying tax at both ends
  14. Depending on which account receives it ? We also have a joint account and a few in my wife's name
  15. This the main item that we are waiting to be decided. Until then it's all supposition
  16. So if my Bangkok Bank account (that I maintain with 800K for visa extension) has no incoming transactions for 2024 then I have nothing to declare ?
  17. How could the Thai taxman get access to your bank details in your home country ? I would quite happily declare that my funds are savings/inheritance but that would be it. If HSBC gave my details to anyone sure they would be in breach of even basic banking regs.
