  20. Public hospitals charge mainly the same for everyone although, as you have found, waiting times can be considerably onerous. Private hospitals certainly have a tiered pricing system, Thai or non-Thai. And you will be seen quickly. Whether you are on a 30-day exemption or a 1 year retirement extension it makes no difference, you will be charged the (much) higher rate.
