Too expensive for you.
All in still 1/2 to 1/3 then what I pay back home.

Yes.
Expats on a fixed pension income have to consider carefully where/how they spend what little disposable income they have. Family expenditure must come first, ie food/utilities/school fees etc.
Golf is a luxury for some, moreso with the current fx rates.
Doubtless you are on a healthy income whereby you don't have to worry about what you spend.
Good for you.

So if Central will be running them, will they become mini Tops stores ??

From the linked article
Possibly in Bangkok and depends on definition of "typical".
300 is considered acceptable on the Pattaya courses that I play at.
Which makes the caddy fee more like 650 baht -- whether you wanted/needed a caddy or not.
Compulsory caddies and compulsory carts make golf too expensive.

Around Pattaya there are more courses where you can choose then have compulsory carts. Generally it is only the upper end/higher priced courses that make them compulsory - but you knew that...........
What also irks is that where carts are not compulsory, you can only have single-use if you need one.
Most Pattaya courses charge 600/700 for a single-use cart. Just means the caddy is the driver
-
Doesn't help when courses around Pattaya advertise half-price green fees -- for Thais only.

OK, in the last 48 hours, the Euro goes down, the USD goes down, and the Pound goes down.
Meanwhile, in Thailand, international tourism is dead, exports are tanking—and the Baht keeps rising. What’s wrong with this picture?
Depends on which side you're looking from.

I still don't see how they keep the THB extremely strong.
I think we know why, but not how

Wonder how much the "non-promotion" price is ??????

If you are interested in the quality golf, does your group have a maximum handicap ??

Thais were not saying they dont like felangs , they just didn't want their Country exposed to the virus again
That's not how Anutin said it.

Where do you live? I have never seen this in Chiang Mai, where 85% of the Chinese tourists are individual travelers, coming with friends or family, and spend a lot of money.
The Chinese buses used to block all streets in Pattaya. Especially second road and beach road.

Fantastic at 1250 b. It is only 35 minutes to get there from Central Pattaya.
Had a very cute young caddie. ????
And in case no one knows, play another 9 or 18 for the caddie fee only!
I played 27 holes very nice/beautiful place one of the better courses I have played here and a bargain now I thought.
A good deal -- but no mention of the extra 9 holes when we played.

I see that they have membership packages ranging from 15000 to 200000
Wonder who the members are and what they knew ?

Would be great if the courses around Pattaya followed suit with this......

Best deals now are Emerald 1050 bt all-in and Burapha 1250 bt all-in

Would be nice if it was in English!
Or is this another promotion for Thais Only ??

Not surprised they're empty at those prices.
If the green fee rate was all-in instead, might be worth a look.

Was the extra 500 baht because it was a weekend ?
Or are they randomly trying their luck ?
We played there last month on a weekday, it was 1350 all-in or 900 walking using a PSC green fee voucher.
Or is some new initiative to get 500 baht from the few farang who still play ?
-
Add another 600 baht for a single-use cart.

Phoenix were advertising green fee of 590 baht not so long ago ...... but only for Thais !!
And now Greenwood are doing the same, 390 baht for Thais but 600 baht for others.
Boycott courses that do this - plenty of other courses to play at the same rate as Thais.
Emerald currently great value at 950 baht all-in -- same price for all.

Yeah Above 11 has always been good.
Havana Social Club which you can find down a small alley sort of opposite Above 11 is also very cool, there is no signage or front door. Instead, there is just a mock-retro phone booth with a 'Telefono' sign. You'll need to call Havana Social for the entry code. Step inside the phone booth, dial the secret code, and a false door in the back of the phone booth swings open.
Is that similar to the telephone bar in Pattaya ??
