The UN Security Council resolution a couple of weeks ago called for the immediate release of hostages with no pre-conditions. It did not call for a ceasefire. Israel did however call for a ceasefire with Hamas in return for another Hostage/prisoner swap. Hamas refused. Me thinks you've not been paying attention at all.

Netanyahu rejects claims accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza
Bkk Brian replied to CharlieH's topic in The War in Israel
That links already been posted and you also clipped my post so here it is again. "The IDF says two Al Jazeera journalists targeted in an airstrike on Sunday in southern Gaza's Rafah, were members of terror organizations in the Gaza Strip. The strike was carried out after the IDF said it spotted a terror operative piloting a drone, and subsequently hit a car they were in. Hamza Wael Dahdouh, the son of Al Jazeera's Gaza correspondent Wael Dahdouh, and Mustafa Thuria, a video stringer for AFP who was also working for Qatar-based television, both died in the strike." -
US and UK hint at military action after largest Houthi attack in Red Sea

How wrong you are on both counts @thaibeachlovers This is not just about the US and UK playing in the naval fun, perhaps read the full topic next time: "UK, US, Australia, Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, South Korea and Singapore, who launched "Operation Prosperity Guardian" last month to protect Red Sea shipping." -

Pretty sure you wont be watching it. Unless of course Al Jazeera and its terrorist journalists show cherry picked items. Gota love the Guardian @guardian is the most obsessively Israel-hating MSM publication in the English speaking world, full stop. And, it has, since Oct. 7, doubled down on their hatred, as we've shown in post after post at our site. The outrage of those working for the publication when we call them out on their malign obsession is remarkable. Their contributors and journalists seem to have no ability to engage in introspection, and ask themselves why so many, including most in the Jewish community, are so critical of them. The fact that we even have to explain why Hamas is a genocidal, antisemitic organisation is astonishing. https://camera-uk.org/topic/guardian/

Israel and Hamas fight house-to-house battles across Gaza
Bkk Brian replied to CharlieH's topic in The War in Israel
Meanwhile the battles continue and the IDF is slowly eliminating Hamas Hostages were held Hamas's tunnel under Khan Yunis - IDF The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Thursday reported expansion of the operation in southern Gaza's Khan Yunis "above and below the ground" as Israeli troops clash with terrorists and destroy over 100 tunnel shafts in the area. The IDF says to have discovered a tunnel connected to the heart of the city's civilians infrastructure where hostages had been held. Israeli military's assessment showed that millions of shekels (1 shekel equals 0.27 U.S. dollar) were invested in the tunnel. Approximately 300 Hamas's tunnel shafts have been discovered by the troops in the area, "including the shafts leading to significant underground tunnels, tactical combat shafts and shafts used as munitions storage and combat complexes," added the IDF statement. https://www.i24news.tv/en/news/israel-at-war/1704960008-hostages-were-held-hamas-s-tunnel-under-khan-yunis-idf Underneath the city of📍Khan Yunis, IDF troops exposed an underground tunnel confirmed to have held Israeli hostages. The tunnel was connected to an extensive network beneath a civilian area. Millions of shekels are estimated to have been invested in excavating the tunnel and equipping it with air ventilation systems, electrical supply and plumbing. -
US and UK hint at military action after largest Houthi attack in Red Sea

With all this warning to the world lets just get on and do it before Houthis hides too much of its arsenal. Sunak authorises British airstrikes against Houthi rebels in Red Sea One Whitehall source said the US-led response would be limited but significant, and was likely to involve British aircraft such as Typhoons based at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus. The co-ordinated strikes are expected to be similar in scale to those launched in April 2018 by the US, UK and France against President Assad’s Syrian chemical weapons facilities. They involved planes and missiles launched from ships against targets on land. Sunak told President Sisi of Egypt, a key ally in the region, that Britain would “continue to take action to defend freedom of navigation and protect lives at sea”. https://archive.ph/CAccZ https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/red-sea-rishi-sunak-cabinet-military-action-uk-us-houthis-5jt8vfjlv -
Netanyahu rejects claims accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza

Israelis turn today for the defense case and its facts to be presented on the meritless case submitted yesterday by SA "Today we saw an upside-down world. Israel is accused of genocide while it is fighting against genocide," he added. "Israel is fighting murderous terrorists who carried out crimes against humanity." The US, meanwhile, said that it saw no justification for South Africa's allegation that Israel has committed genocide. "They are defending themselves against a still viable threat," said White House national security spokesperson John Kirby. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-67942983 -

No smear campaign against SA just the reality of its bias, this article from 16th Nov before it even decided to bring the case: South Africa's Government Is an Unapologetic, Shameless Proxy for Hamas and Iran A pornographic, sycophantic romance between government ministers and Hamas leaders, a warm embrace for Iran, explicit calls to attack Jews, our homes, our workplaces, our schools. We South African Jews wonder if our own government is inciting pogroms against us. Following the slaughter of more than 1,200 Israelis, most of them civilians, by Hamas terrorists, the kidnapping of 239 hostages into Gaza, and the onset of the latest Israel-Hamas war, there has been a sharp and frightening increase in antisemitic rhetoric and threatened violence around the world. But South African Jews are confronting a far more sinister and almost unique challenge: Our government has emerged as an unapologetic, shameless proxy for Hamas and Iran. https://archive.ph/QreGb https://www.haaretz.com/opinion/2023-11-16/ty-article-opinion/.premium/south-africas-government-is-an-unapologetic-shameless-proxy-for-hamas-and-iran/0000018b-d7d9-dffa-adef-f7d979970000 -

Nobody voted against the UN Security Resolution, I take it yours would have been the only one............... UN Security Council demands Houthis stop Red Sea attacks Jan 10 (Reuters) - The U.N. Security Council on Wednesday demanded Yemen's Houthis immediately end attacks on ships in the Red Sea and cautioned against escalating tensions while implicitly endorsing a U.S.-led task force that has been defending vessels. Eleven members voted for the measure demanding the Houthis "immediately cease all attacks, which impede global commerce and navigational rights and freedoms as well as regional peace." https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/un-security-council-demands-houthis-stop-red-sea-attacks-2024-01-10/ -

yea ok.....lol How does that work out with the quote you posted and which is the part I highlighted and responded to? Starvation as a war crime has never been prosecuted, she says, but her organization has produced a report arguing it is happening in South Sudan and she wants her group to be allowed to conduct an independent investigation in Gaza." -

I wish the UN faced up to its own failures in this, or are they proud of their staffs work. Not surprising that they grew up to become terrorists. Editorial: Reform UNRWA, a renegade agency committed to hate What if a secretive United Nations organization existed that employed murderers and terrorists; that hired trained killers as school principals; that brainwashed children in Islamic fundamentalism; that ran a propaganda machine, using social media to encourage students to kill people just because they were part of a different religion? Such an organization exists. As detailed in this week’s Opinion page by Jerusalem journalist David Bedein, the agency is called the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, also known as UNRWA. Over the years, it has raised billions of dollars from Western countries, with the United States serving as the lead donor and patron. https://jewishjournal.org/2017/05/04/editorial-reform-unrwa-a-renegade-agency-committed-to-hate/ -

mmm Good article my take is that provisional measures of some sort could well be issued by the court based on this. “It’s a low evidentiary threshold; you just have to show prima facie that what you’re saying is plausible,” explained Lieblich. The main event case which would be years away where it is more evidence based has no bearing on this first 2 days hearing. The Israeli ministers making those inflammatory remarks did not help at all. Its going to be a pollical witch hunt against Israel but should not affect the ongoing dismantling of Hamas. -

"Haaretz's false reporting that the prime minister said the deportation of Gaza residents is under consideration provided tailwind for South Africa’s baseless accusation" of genocide at the International Court of Justice. Haaretz Falsely Claimed Netanyahu Was Open to Deporting Gaza Residents; He’s Not CAMERA’s Israel office prompted the correction of a report in Haaretz‘s English edition, which falsely claimed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the deportation of Gaza residents is under consideration. But as Barak Ravid of Axios, and a former Haaretz journalist, rightly pointed out, Netanyahu did not say the deportation of Gaza residents is under consideration. Ravid correctly tweeted: That’s not what he said in the recording. He was talking about a deal of deporting [Hamas leader Yahya] Sinwar from Gaza in return for the release of the hostages as a way to end the war. https://www.algemeiner.com/2024/01/10/haaretz-falsely-claimed-netanyahu-was-open-to-deporting-gaza-residents-hes-not/
