  1. Lets hope so, Hamas refused a deal and cease fire a week ago: Qatar said to tell Israel that Hamas ‘agrees in principle’ to resume talks on hostage deal Qatari mediators have told Israel that Hamas “agrees in principle” to resume negotiations for the release of further hostages taken by the terror group during the October 7 atrocities, in exchange for a weeks-long truce in the Gaza Strip, the Walla news site reports. Citing three Israeli officials, the report says Israel is responding warily to the message and stressing that it will quickly emerge whether Hamas is indeed serious. https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/qatar-said-to-tell-israel-that-hamas-agrees-in-principle-to-resume-talks-on-hostage-deal/
  2. Having never been a terrorist I cannot say what would bring them to mass murder innocent civilians, rape, torture, mutilate them. Then take hostage over 200 more to carry on with the rapes, sexual assault, execution and torture. UN Watch has some clues though: Report: U.N. Teachers Celebrated Hamas Massacre As war wages on between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, UN Watch has released a new report that reveals how UNRWA teachers in the enclave, funded largely by the U.S. and EU, indoctrinate Palestinian children and promote terrorism and antisemitism. Entitled “UNRWA: Hate Starts Here,” the report uncovers 20 UNRWA teachers and other staff members who celebrated the October 7th Hamas massacre of Israeli civilians on their social media accounts. The new cases are in addition to 133 UNRWA educators and staff who were exposed for promoting hate and violence in UN Watch’s last report, released in March 2023. https://unwatch.org/unrwa-obstacle-to-peace/ For your other question that you just edited in: This has nothing to do with anything that went on before: Guterres made a press statement in New York recalling that in his remarks on Tuesday he had specifically said no Palestinian grievance could justify the horrendous attacks by Hamas. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/oct/25/israel-says-it-will-ban-un-staff-after-secretary-generals-comments While I know you'd like to continue off topic, it wont be with me, this is an important thread on the hostages.
  3. Exactly, there is no sitting on the fence here: 'We know they were raped in Hamas captivity': Chilling details of what hostages faced Two Israeli doctors, who have been treating released hostages, and an Israeli military official familiar with the matter confirmed to USA TODAY that some released hostages revealed they suffered violent sexual assaults in captivity. One of the doctors assessed that "many" of the released Israeli female hostages ages 12 to 48 − there are about 30 of them − were sexually assaulted while held by Hamas in Gaza. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2023/12/20/hamas-sexual-violence-rape-hostages-oct-7/71917113007/
  4. Did you expect anything different from South Africa? Time to phone your rabbit? South Africa's Government Is an Unapologetic, Shameless Proxy for Hamas and Iran A pornographic, sycophantic romance between government ministers and Hamas leaders, a warm embrace for Iran, explicit calls to attack Jews, our homes, our workplaces, our schools. We South African Jews wonder if our own government is inciting pogroms against us. Following the slaughter of more than 1,200 Israelis, most of them civilians, by Hamas terrorists, the kidnapping of 239 hostages into Gaza, and the onset of the latest Israel-Hamas war, there has been a sharp and frightening increase in antisemitic rhetoric and threatened violence around the world. But South African Jews are confronting a far more sinister and almost unique challenge: Our government has emerged as an unapologetic, shameless proxy for Hamas and Iran. https://archive.ph/QreGb https://www.haaretz.com/opinion/2023-11-16/ty-article-opinion/.premium/south-africas-government-is-an-unapologetic-shameless-proxy-for-hamas-and-iran/0000018b-d7d9-dffa-adef-f7d979970000
  5. No its a fact. Would you also argue against Anne Frank on this?
  6. You may think you know what Zionists are but your truth is fiction. Nowadays, the word Zionist is often used as a swearword. As a negative label. Many Palestinians and supporters of the Palestinian cause no longer distinguish between the words 'Jew', 'Israeli' and 'Zionist'. That is not correct. Most Jews do not live in Israel. Not every inhabitant of Israel is Jewish; there are also many non-Jews living in Israel. And not all Jewish Israelis are 'settlers' who want to conquer more and more Palestinian land. The vast majority of Jews believe that the State of Israel should continue to exist. But many Jews, both living in Israel and elsewhere, are in favour of a Palestinian state alongside Israel as a possible solution to the conflict. To cut a long story short: although many Jews identify with Zionism, there are still many different points of view. That is reason enough not to mix up the words 'Jew', 'Israelis' and 'Zionists'. https://www.annefrank.org/en/topics/antisemitism/are-all-jews-zionists/
  7. Yet that's exactly why this war started, Oct/7th. To get to that solution, Hamas and its infrastructure needs to be finished and all hostages returned.
  8. Sarcasm, and then you want an answer to a dumb question, there are trucks everyday, sometimes over 200 per day, plenty of food to go round, the problems are not food amounts, they are delivery and stopping Hamas stealing the trucks. Oh by the way @billd766 you claimed there was none, why lie? "Their OWN Israeli government has stopped food, water, fuel and medical supplies to EVERYONE in Gaza."
  9. Their OWN Israeli government has stopped food, water, fuel and medical supplies to EVERYONE in Gaza. What a complete and utter load of <deleted>: https://twitter.com/cogatonline/status/1740407917017518425 https://twitter.com/cogatonline/status/1740462339315626335
  10. I'm not keen on Elon Musk but he got one thing spot on when talking about the situation in Gaza. First of course get rid of Hamas: or in his words “Those that are intent on murder must be neutralised". The propaganda must stop that is training people to be murderers in the future. And then, making Gaza prosperous. And if that happens, I think it will be a good future. “These people have been fed propaganda since they were children. And it’s remarkable what humans are capable of if they’re fed falsehoods from when they are children,” Musk said. “They will think that the murder of innocent people is a good thing. That is how much propaganda can affect people’s minds.” He elaborated that video footage of Hamas militants storming a kibbutz, a music festival and homes to capture and kill innocent Israeli citizens demonstrates exactly how much damage ruthless propaganda can cause by inciting people to be violent. https://www.firstpost.com/world/deradicalise-first-and-then-rebuild-elon-musk-outlines-steps-to-reconstruct-gaza-in-post-war-phase-13439912.html
  11. Lets hope so, they have shown themselves to be complicit and just not trust worthy. Israel hoping to push UNRWA out of Gaza post-war — report Israel is hoping to push the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, out of the Gaza Strip post-war, Channel 12 reported, citing a high-level, classified Foreign Ministry report. According to the report, the document recommends three stages to the move. The first involves a comprehensive report on alleged UNRWA cooperation with Hamas, which rules Gaza, and the entanglement of the UN body that provides welfare and humanitarian services for Palestinian refugees from the 1948 and 1967 wars and their descendants, with the terror group. The next stage would see reduced UNRWA operations in the Palestinian enclave, amid a search for a different organization to provide education and welfare services. In the third stage, according to the report, all of UNRWA’s duties would be transferred to the body governing Gaza following the war. https://www.timesofisrael.com/israel-hoping-to-push-unrwa-out-of-gaza-post-war-report
  12. Relying on video footage, photographs, GPS data from mobile phones and interviews with more than 150 people, including witnesses, medical personnel, soldiers and rape counselors, The Times identified at least seven locations where Israeli women and girls appear to have been sexually assaulted or mutilated. The Times viewed photographs of one woman’s corpse that emergency responders discovered in the rubble of a besieged kibbutz with dozens of nails driven into her thighs and groin. https://archive.ph/7tF0P https://www.nytimes.com/2023/12/28/world/middleeast/oct-7-attacks-hamas-israel-sexual-violence.html Tamed down version here: NYT report details weaponization of sexual violence during Oct. 7 terror onslaught The two-month investigation included interviews with more than 150 witnesses, medical personnel, soldiers, rape counselors and government officials along with the scanning of video footage, photographs and GPS data from cell phones. NYT says it identified at least seven locations where Israeli women and girls were apparently sexually abused or mutilated and those the paper interviewed described finding the bodies of more than 30 women around the Re’im rave site. https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/nyt-report-details-weaponization-of-sexual-violence-during-oct-7-terror-onslaught/
  13. This girl went through hell as have most of the hostages if not all of them, in fact she's one of the lucky ones. Also in The Times of Israel. Mia was one of the girls who Hamas released a video of with her saying everything is fine, they are treating me well....blah blah blah. The pro Hamas supporters jumped on this to say how well treated they all were by the terrorists. All these vidoes were obviously made under duress and here we have Mia confirming it. "A day after the surgery, she told Channel 13, she was forced to film a propaganda video which Hamas released a few days later: “They told me to say that they were taking care of me and treating me… You do what you’re told. You’re afraid to die.” Freed hostage Mia Schem: ‘I experienced hell. There are no innocent civilians in Gaza’ His wife would bring her husband food, “and not bring me food,” she recounted. “A day, two days, three days, I wouldn’t eat… She was so terrible, she had mean eyes. She was a very evil woman.” On one occasion, she said, “I was choking back tears,” and her captor looked at her and said “‘Enough, or I’ll send you to the tunnel.'” Schem told Channel 13 that there was a television in the house, and at one point she saw her mother appear on TV, “and I saw my mother being strong, and I said ‘who am I to break?'” https://www.timesofisrael.com/freed-hostage-mia-schem-i-experienced-hell-everyone-in-gaza-is-a-terrorist
  14. Why carry on with the lies? Hamas refused a cease fire last week in exchange for hostage/prisoner swap Hamas rejected an Israeli offer to stop fighting for one week in exchange for dozens of hostages
  15. I don't mind what word is used so long as they are finished in Gaza. Without that there can never be peace. steven is just being argumentative over the use of one word.
  16. Playing with words, the goal is to dismantle it, its fighters, leaders and infrastructure from Gaza so it no longer has control there. ISIS was dismantled, it can be done.
  17. A reminder of how Israel is fighting with its hands tied behind its back. John Spencer, world's leading expert on urban warfare: “There have been false statements, like the use of the term ‘most destructive war of the modern era,’ when it compares maybe a battle against one city in combination to all the cities in Gaza. There’s no military in the world that has faced the challenge Israel is facing right now in the war against Hamas. An entire underground war, where the enemy is using the civilian population as its strategy — to try to get the other side to stop moving forward, for their military strategic objective. No military has faced a military that is shooting at civilians behind them, in the midst of the operation. Because, of the 13,000 Hamas rockets, 100% of those have been dumb: they do not have precision-guided munition. Nobody’s talking about that statistic.”
  18. No Paywall link https://archive.ph/5541n "Just after Christmas, however, Iran committed the classic “Washington gaffe” – i.e., telling the truth accidentally – when the Revolutionary Guard Corps reportedly described Hamas’s barbaric assault as “one of the acts of revenge for the assassination of General [Qassem] Soleimani by the US and the Zionists”. Hamas immediately denied the linkage, no more credibly than the Revolutionary Guard Corps’ subsequent effort to walk back its revealing “revenge” declaration."
  19. Sounds like a feeble attempt at gloating. Perhaps you should remind yourself of the 4th post in this topic from the one and only you on the 25th Feb 2022 and 334 pages later your contributions remain just as rubbish. "I'll switch on Al Jazeera for an update. I doubt this thread will survive long"
  20. Indeed, you may also want to read the latest report by UN Watch for more disturbing issues with the UN. The link to the full report is in the article.
