  1. Gary Lineker LIVE: Match of the Day return CONFIRMED as BBC issue grovelling apology Gary Lineker's statement on his reinstatement has finished with no apology. His final tweet reads, "We remain a country of predominantly tolerant, welcoming and generous people. Thank you." https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/gary-lineker-bbc-talks-live-29429582
  2. If he wanted publicity on it then he'd be talking and tweeting about it now. He's not. Same as he's not tweeting about the numerous other charities he supports
  3. They are students now. You link aswell as the one I provided clearly also said they were refugees.
  4. You are aware that iplayer is also to catch up on programmes at a time convinient to you right?
  5. Not true but you would know that if you read the links
  6. No. Put the link in wayback machine internet archive. Pick any date in Feb. Position is the same. I'm on my phone so can't but did before I lleft home
  7. Nobody needs to follow his tweets and opinions. Would that be the same home in London where he accommodated 2 refugees?
  8. So why does he stay at the BBC when he is well aware the funding model of the BBC requires impartiality I thought that was being discussed with the head of BBC indicating that there would more flexible rules for Gary if he stayed? At least that's what the BBC reported.
  9. Really, I see claim with no link, so not comment needed
  10. If that's your assumption then Lineker could already triple his salary: Gary Lineker 'to be offered triple his wages' by ITV if Match of the Day host quits BBC https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1745315/Gary-Lineker-news-pay-wages-ITV-BBC-Match-of-the-Day-Twitter-row-Suella-Braverman
  11. Depends what format. Its top in iplayer https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/most-popular
  12. I don't have to provide evidence on an opinion. Besides how would you propose that a show that provides highlights and commentary on a number of premiership matches does that with no commentators? How would they even break up the segments. Do you really think that they will risk 40 million people, who watch at least part of MOTD’s output each season to try that experiment? Do you get it now? that's a big if
  13. Well those who thought 20 mins is better than the normal 80 mins, good luck to them. It'll be back to normal soon....lol. So what do you read to say people preferred it that way with the 20 min format?
  14. I know on a bizarre 20 minute show for the novelty factor. 'OWN GOAL' Match Of The Day cut to 20 minutes in bizarre show with no THEME TUNE or commentary as BBC reels from Lineker crisis https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/21681072/match-of-the-day-gary-lineker/
  15. It is easily arguable that the BBC needs Gary Lineker more than he needs the BBC. He could earn far more than his freelance fee of £1.35m per year on other, commercial platforms. share of the British population, or around 40 million people, who watch at least part of MOTD’s output each season. The flagship Saturday night show can routinely attract 4m viewers, with up to three million tuning in to MOTD2 on Sundays. Tens of millions of additional fans each season request the shows on BBC iPlayer. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11848777/Match-Day-just-football-free-air-reliable-format.html
  16. No they won't. This from last month. US secures deal on Philippines bases to complete arc around China
  17. "The west, IMO, is carrying out a war against Russia using Ukrainian bodies," Russian propaganda channels started with ratcheting up the risk of WW111, and Nuclear war, they spread it far and wide as a deterrent to stop the West helping Ukraine so it could carry on with its quest of invading a sovereign nation. It didn't work. The latest propaganda drive that I've seen from Russian Embassy tweets and apologists is the exact same one you're using above. Why does that not surprise me.
  18. Viewing figures were up but at 20 mins long instead of 80 minutes and with no commentators I would guess it was more of a novelty must see. Broadcaster Piers Morgan said in a tweet that Lineker’s suspension was “pathetically spineless.” https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/bizarre-20-minutes-match-day-101323439.html
  19. Pence says ‘history will hold Donald Trump accountable’ for January 6th “President Trump was wrong. I had no right to overturn the election and his reckless words endangered my family and everyone at the Capitol that day, and I know that history will hold Donald Trump accountable,” Pence said. “Tourists don’t injure 140 police officers by sightseeing,” Pence said, “tourists don’t break down doors to get to the Speaker of the House or voice threats against public officials.” Pence chastised Republicans who minimized the insurrection, days after Fox News host Tucker Carlson aired new security footage from inside the Capitol on January 6th in an attempt to defend the mob. https://edition.cnn.com/2023/03/11/politics/mike-pence-gridiron-dinner/index.html
